"He is not lying, sir," came a soft voice with a slight mechanical buzz from right behind Psycho13. "No weapons have been detected."
"Ah good," said the gold armored man as he lowered his rifle and lowered his other hand. "You can some out now then, Small Toy."
"Affirmitive," replied the cloaked robot as its active camoflouge faded away, revealing Small Toy to be a five foot tall, grey, skeletal robot.
Remaining out of kicking range, the robot drifted past Psycho13 and took up position next to the gold armored man.
"So, Caleb, what brings you to this dreary beach on the outskirts of Hell?" asked the man. -
"The Masters of Mayhem, duh," said a pleasant sounding, if sarcastic, voice from behind one of several large boulders inextricably scattered across the sand. "Where've you been for the last few years, anyway?"
The owner of the voice slid out from around the rock, high tech looking rifle aimed squarely at Psycho13's head with one hand. The other hand, glad in the same shimmering gold as the rest of the figure's armor, was held out with two fingers in a 'V'.
"Peace, yo," the man continued. "The gun's just out because I'm paranoid. These are paranoid times, you know. So, who're you?" -

.........eh what the hell.
A. MAKE. Toy wants to show off his blastering by zapping some Blightlord. -
"Why aren't we killing yet!?!" howled one of the Children of Anger that were tightly packed in the small apartment.
A gunshot rang out before any of the other madmen could start screaming as well. The man who had spoken looked down at the bleeding hole in his rag covered torso in disbelief as the pinkish psychic energies radiating from his head slowly dimmed. The man looked up at his killer, eyes that were just seconds ago filled with blind hate toward the world were blank with a lack of understanding and a horrible knowledge. For the last second of his life, the man was once again himself; and then he died.
"We are lying in ambush," whispered the black painted robot angrily. "You shall all remain silent as ordered or die like he did."
"Please try to avoid killing my slaves, Scatter Shot," said one of the female Children in a voice that was not her own. "Tyrant did not allow me to bring as many of them as I wished into this world."
"This operation is sanctioned by Lord Tyrant himself," Scatter Shot shot back, calming his voice slightly. "I have been given orders to ensure that it goes off without a hitch."
"See that it does," replied Mother Mayhem's thrall with a snort. "But remember that I am always watching you."
Shaking his head, Scatter Shot looked out of the lone window in the apartment he was in and focused on a large group of well-armed Trolls that were just walking between his building and the one across the street.
Having already cleared the window of any glass, Scatter Shot rested the barrel of his rifle on the windowsill and took careful aim. A single shot rang out and the leading Ogre hit the ground, blood fountaining from the stump where his head had been.
"Attack," Scatter Shot said over his comm. link.
Behind him, the Children of Rage scrambled out of the room and down the short hallway to the front door. They grouped up on the outside of the door and screamed and howled as they released their pent up hate in the form of deadly psychic bolts at the confused bunch of Trolls. Opposite Scatter Shot, the other apartment building erupted with gunfire as Marauder's minions opened up with their machine guns, further throwing the group of Trolls into confusion and disarray.
As he calmly sniped Troll after Troll, Scatter Shot wished that he had something more interesting to fight than these pathetic drug addicts. -
If a robot could scowl, Solid's expression would cause stone to crack under the strain of his displeasure. Normally he would violently disagree with letting a known villain get far away from him and out of possible pursuit distance, but considering that something was trying to suck the city into a bottomless void and that Penny herself was quite injured, he figured he could let things slide just this once.
"Target lost," Solid muttered as the funnel swung away from him.
"If this doesn't work," Solid informed Penny over the radio frequency she had passed him as he waited for his chance to fire to roll by again. "My ghost is going to kill your ghost till the end of time. Got that?" -
"Threats against the world first; random super villains second," grumbled Solid as he braced himself against a wall support that looked sturdy enough.
With his foot pressing against the chunk of metal to give himself a stable firing position against the black hole, Solid brought up his rifle and took aim at the funnel-ish bottom of the hole in space.
"This had better god damned work," Solid shot at Penny as he calculated trajectories and filtered in the pull of the black hole. "And if someone touches me or helps her get away, they are so getting a fist to the face. Repeatedly."
Aiming complete, Solid flicked up a coolie cap near his thumb and pressed the button underneath. With a roar, a small, high explosive long range missile rocketed out from a modified grenade launcher and streaked toward the funnel. It exploded against the field as though it had hit a solid object, the resulting smoke quickly being whisked away into the hole above it.
"Well, at least I can hit it," Solid said for everyone else's benefit. "Anyone else want to lend a hand here?"
Switching back to normal sniper mode, Solid got ready to plant a hyper-sonic bullet right where the LRM had hit. After that he'd follow up with a grenade and as many bullets as he could throw downrange before his sniping system cooled down. -
"Oh [censored]!" Solid cursed as his jets sputtered and he barely managed to touch down on the edge of the giant hole in the wall.
Flailing his arms wildly for a second as the black hole almost jerked him off balance, Solid stumbled inside and pointed one finger at Penny while his gun made a slow circuit of the other people in the room.
"I hate it when this [censored] happens whle I'm around," Solid muttered to himself before turning up the volume. "Ok girl, you've got ten seconds to explain what the HELL that thing is... Or how the HELL shooting it with BULLETS will do anything!" -
OOC: I lied, I actually got back today.
BIC: "That was entirely uncalled for!" Solid shouted from the depths of the truck trailer he had been knocked into by the explosion.
Managing to extricate himself from the wreck, Solid set his nano-bots to repairing as much damage as they could while he tried to survey the situation. Penny Arcade was gone from his sight, though the giant hole in the office building a bit down the way was probably where she landed. Her bots seemed to be mostly gone as well, the only ones left seemed to be alternately trapped in some ultra-dense force field or forcibly shifted out of phase with reality.
An explosion from the top of another building heralded the end of the Arachnos cannon-thing and a good number of support troops that had been near it. It also took out several Longbow Eagles that had still been in pursuit; which pissed Solid off a bit. Longbow might be kind of (more like really) annoying at times, but they were doing good like other heroes were.
"Hey Colleen, still tagging along?" Solid asked. "If so, try and look through your files for a hero matching the description of trigger happy up there. I think after this is over he's going to need to have some friendly guys in white suits knocking on his door."
"Will do, Solid," Colleen replied. "But I can't promise anything."
"No problemo. You should have plenty of time to search while I check in on our perp."
Shooting back up into the air, Solid introduced a Mu Adept to a beanbag and consequently ignored the unconscious soldier as he fell to the ground and landed in a garbage truck. Keeping a safe distance back, Solid activated the high-powered scope on his rifle, linked it to his targeting eye, and selected his LRM launcher. He peered through the dust and smoke kicked up by Penny's landing and watched carefully while leaving one eye open to make sure no one tried to ambush the android while he was concentrating. -
OOC: LET THERE BE 1 v 1 v ? v ? ACTION!!!
Aka "Olololololol, Solid is so screwed."
BIC: "Aw [censored]! I hate friendly fire! And firing squads!" Solid shouted as he was alternately bathed in both laser fire and regular fire, charring and blackening the armor plating protecting his torso and shoulders.
Doing an inelegant backflip through the air as he was hit square in the chest by Buster's plasma cannon, Solid accelerated backward to more properly size up the situation. As he thrustered back out of range of the acid mortar he flipped the bird to the person his targeting systems identified as a friendly.
"Heroes are suppoed to be shooting the VILLAINS!" Solid shouted at the cloaked hero as he waved his finger for emphasis. "Now I'm giving you one more chance to NOT get pegged with a beanbag while I fill the metal brigade here with holes!"
Flicking a switch on his OmniRifle to 'Full Auto', Solid tightly clenched his open hand and slammed it against his chest to make a heavy ringing noise. The noise seemed to grow and crowd out all other noises for the half second it took streamers of energy to erupt from his oversized forearms and into his rifle.
He was overclocking his energy generators in an unhealthy way to pull off this stunt, but Rikti technology was surprisingly adaptive and wouldn't be overly damaged by the massive build up of power in his system. His OmniRifle was also more than hardy enough to handle the heavy electrical charge that was now imbuing every single one of his bullets.
"Shocking, ain't it?" Solid chuckled malevolently as he grabbed the barrel of his gun with his free hand to steady it and pulled on the trigger with his finger.
The bullets that shot out of his gun were effectively all tracer rounds, each and every one of them crackling with an electrical charge that allowed them to hit harder and penetrate better. And given the angle of fire he had, that of straight down the street at a bunch of robots and people right in front of him, there would be plenty of targets for the bullets to slam into. -
Solid: *maniacal cackle* If you like that, just wait till you see me when I haven't run Nod32 for a couple of weeks!

I R RETURN'D.
I've been away at my grandma's house for the last little while. I'm not entirely sure if I'll be able to get back onto the forum until I get home, so I shall use this time I have now to do stuff.
...even if the person I'm doing stuff with won't be back till I am.
BIC: "She's clean," said one of the guards standing next to the door as Mark 2 walked up. "Scanner team just hauled her in."
"Very good," the prototype replied as it pushed open the door and walked into the clean, white room. Behind it one of the door guard's held the door open for a second longer than neccessary. The prototype assumed it was because he expected one of the battle drones to also enter.
"You may close and secure the door," Mark 2 said with a look over its shoulder. "I shall not require my drones for this interrogation."
The guard closing the door looked around himself for a second, as though confused, and then shrugged before closing the door. The sound of the locks engaging was very final.
The metal chair screeched slightly as the prototype pulled it out from the table and eased itself into it. The prototype wasn't quite sure the folding metal chair could hold its weight, but when the chair didn't buckle immidiately, the android relaxed slightly and rested both forearms on the table in a position that looked a bit rehearsed.
"What have you gotten yourself into now?" the prototype asked Penny simply. -
You know what? I'm currently wondering how much help any of my guys would be in Acid's war to take down the Concile.
-
The Assault Droid stomped forward, flanked by several guards bearing hand cuffs and inhibitor braces. The massive machine casually backhanded Blind into a wall where he was picked up by the guards, locked down, and carried back to his cell.
For Twilit and his gang, the droid lifted up one arm equipped with a thick shield from which a nozzle protruded from under. A thick green gas sprayed from the device, quickly knocking all the thugs out. The guards, who had been waring gas masks the whole time, as they had been warned about this weapon, gathered up the men and dragged them down to new cells.
It seemed that this little section of the breakout was done and over with.
OOC: Sorry to god mode you two a bit, but there wasn't really much else that could happen. -
"Well that's not nice," Solid remarked as he pulled up, his jets flaring behind him as he broke his speed abruptly. He had recognized the oncoming blast wave as an electromagnetic pulse. Not that Solid has much to worry about, ever since he had been installed with the illegal Rikti tech that allowed him to channel the energy of his power cell in creative ways he had become somewhat immune to things that would disable other machines. He figured it was because the Rikti tech was partially organic, though he had never bothered to find out exactly why. Some things worked better if you didn't know how they worked, in his opinion.
"This is still gonna hurt," Solid groaned as the almost invisible wave swept over him. Sparks danced over the surface of his armor and a motivator circuit in his left arm burnt out. A back-up system took over, so the damage wouldn't mess things up.
Since he was just about the only thing in the street that was still moving the way it wanted, Solid had a prime view to see which way the perp went as Colleen called back and gave him some much needed information.
"Remind me to buy you a drink after all this is over," Solid sent back to the Hero Corps agent as he tracked Penny Arcade and shot off after her. "Damn good thing I keep my camera in my head, nowadays."
Switching vision modes for a second, Solid snapped a picture of the fleeing villain with the standard camera installed in his head. As a security droid, he had occasionally had need to store pictures in a place other than his electronic memory and camera film worked quite well. It also helped in the compilation of a "Defeated Foes" album that Solid was constantly adding too. Something about pictures printed from actual film just felt right to the robot, though he suspected that was just his damn programming screwing with him again.
Sometimes he just wanted to find that kid in Korea and....
But now wasn't for thinking random violent thoughts, now was for doing active violent things. As Penny Arcade came racing at him, Solid held his gun out wide in one hand, its barrel pointing toward the building to his right, and lifted his left hand up toward the perp. Electricity crackled and wove around his bulky forearm as he channeled power in a peculiar way he had first learned to do when he arrived in Paragon City. Small strands of lightning leapt out from his hand, arcing toward Penny Arcade almost faster than one could blink. The strands would wrap around her body, bleeding away her momentum to such a degree that she'd find she couldn't move at all. Her jets would still keep her aloft, but they'd make her a sitting duck for anything else Solid might care to do.
"And that's when one applies the freeze ray to the face," Solid said as he attacked. -
OOC: Looks like you're both ignoring each other. <_< This might cause problems. I'll just add a little bit to the beginning of my post about what each of you did, that way we can avoid major screw-ups, I think. Since the guy who plays Twilit hasn't posted in a bit, I'm going to tie up the armory bit with overwhelming force.
Averick: Got Michael taken in to be interrogated at the same time Penny did. Told the interrogater (random woman) exactly what he and Fist had seen as well as the fact that his plan for being in the Zig is too roust up a 5th Column army and take down the Council. Michael answered all questions he was asked and shortly the interrogator left to speak with Penny.
Devious: The mysterious presence remarked that it needed to keep a close eye on Penny. Suddenly there was a new guard in the hallway who's sticking around with the Wannabes. He seems to be trying really hard to not touch anything but the floor.
BIC: Request confirmed, read a small line at the bottom of Mark 2's HUD. Approval granted for release of Assault Droid Mark IV. Pending end of emergency situation, Assault Droid Mark IV is to be returned forthwith.
Approval recieved, replied Mark 2 as it made it to the armory doors and quickly shut down the teleport blockers in its little bit of the world using authorization codes given to it by the Warden himself.
High up in orbit, a darker patch of space abruptly tilted on its axis to point the barrel of an odd looking cannon toward Earth. The satellite quickly re-stabilized itself with short bursts from its microthrusters and then fired the cannon once. The 15 foot tall, 8 foot diameter object hurtled through the atmosphere toward thr east coast of the United States and Paragon City. The outer shell of the object burned and peeled away just after the worst of the air friction was over with as it was designed to do. The object, now noticebly smaller and vaguely recognizable as something humanoid, plunged through the air until it was about one mile above the Zig. It was at that height that it vanished in the distinctive electromagnetic burst of a powerful teleport.
The machine that appeared in a flash right in front of the Mark 2 was a hulking brute. Missile launchers sat upon shoulders that would have made a football quarterback proud while thick-set arms ended in removable blast plates protecting the inner workings of dual plasma cannons. The Assault Droid stood hunched over slightly on its barrel legs as though weighed down by its own immense weight. The stubby head set inbetween and below the missile launchers glared about it with a sweeping red sensor strip reminiscent of a fictional robot race called the Cylons.
"Reapplying teleport blockers now," said the prototype aloud as it ordered the Assault Droid and the smaller battle drones to take up defensive patterns around the armory door. "Hold this position for two minutes to insure guard reinforcements and then head toward the cell that was destroyed during the attempted breakout."
The spoken instructions weren't really for the Assault Droid, as the Mark 2 was perfectly capable of ordering it almost instantaneously through more mundane electronic methods. But many humans had reacted oddly when they saw Mark 2 surrounded by the swirling chaos of the occasional out of control brawl, its robots moving about it in perfect synchronization and order without any apparent direction from their master. This had slightly effected guard efficiency whenever the Mark 2 was nearby, so it had affected giving spoken orders whenever it could.
"Orders recieved," rumbled the Assault Droid with a voice that befit its size.
It was then that the Mark 2 intercepted a message from one of the scanner teams indicating the death of a prisoner by one Penny Arcade. Details were sparing, but the Mark 2 managed to glean that the other prisoner had been reduced to ashes in a manner suggesting of metahuman powers. Considering that no one in Cell block C was reported as having any power other than their own intelligence and athletic ability, this meant there was potentially another super-powered prisoner running free. Of course, his movement would likely be horribly restricted now that the force fields and power dampeners were in place, but that would only lessen his ability to kill, not stop it altogether.
But there was little the Mark 2 could do about that at the moment. However, it could see what it could do about getting Penny to talk. Apparently she was refusing to explain what had happened, though one report indicated another prisoner was quite willing to talk about what he had seen. Penny was being moved to one of the interrogation rooms under heavy escort and the Mark 2 managed to usurp authority from the main computer long enough to replace the name of the person that would question Penny with its own.
"Proceed with orders as given," the Mark 2 said as it disassembled its pulse rifle and started toward the interrogation rooms. "Coordinate with the regular guards whenever possible."
"Affirmitive," replied the Assault Droid as it watched the Mark 2 walk away. -
"-ut Longbow are already in the area, Solid," finished Colleen Saramago, one of Solid Shot's old contacts in Steel Canyon. "And besides, there are plenty enough heroes running around Steel Canyon to take down any number of villains that try and wreak havoc."
"Yeah, well, I'm here right now and I want to shoot something. And since shooting other heroes or civillians is generally frowned upon and all the gang bangers are occupied with other heroes, I figure I might as well use my aggressive mood constructively."
The flat grey combat droid was currently standing on the edge of a roof of one of Steel Canyon's trademark skyscrapers. The cyclopix targeting eye whirred slightly as it zoomed in on the blue shimmer of the emergency force field just visible in the distance and his Omni-rifle tapped against his leg as he talked with Colleen through his radio.
"Well, not like I can argue with you," the Hero Corps field agent replied. "Just try not to show up the newbies too much, alright? Also, if you give me a link to your HUD I should be able to run the image of the villain through my files and find a match. Should give you some idea of what you're up against."
"Roger roger, Colleen," Solid replied as he locked onto a small black blur being trailed by several other blurs. "And I think I see the perp himself. I'm going to cut audio transmission now, it'll take up less bandwith if I feed you only video."
"Gotcha, good luck."
"Luck is my business in trade. Going silent," Solid said with a slight click ending his sentence.
Tapping on his mouth grate with his free hand, Solid calculated how long it'd take for the villain to fly past his building. ...not long was his estimate. This of course meant he should get his grey metal [censored] moving.
"I love this job," Solid remarked as he jumped off the roof, arching into a perfect swan dive.
His boot jets kicked in before he had fallen five stories and accelerated his fall until he pulled up and out of his dive, his grey and black lightningbolt patterned cape trailing behind him. He stayed low to the ground, flying just above traffic in order to keep below where the villain would fly over him. Basically, Solid's plan was to wait for the villain to fly over him and then flip onto his back, match the villain's speed, and lay into the [censored] with his standard load of bullets. A type of rubber bullet that dissolved with impact, they were very good at taking down unarmored crooks without seriously injuring or killing them. Normally he'd switch out to some AP rounds when fighting a metahuman but he figured his normal rounds would suffice to knock out his little buddies if they came near while he was shooting at the main target. -

OOC: *cough* Probably should post this before the breakout attempt gets too far.
BIC: The prototype slowly pulled itself to its feet, the blueish-white light byproduct of its force field generators fading from its hands. Mark 2 spent a moment to scan Penny, assuring itself that she was relatively unharmed by the force bolt that had knocked her across the arena. Obviously its current setting was too high when fighting someone of such low mass and would need to be compensated for in the future.
But current events were of much greater importance and the prototype filed away the generator calibrations for later. Also of importance was the destabilizing influence (A virus?) still lingering within its core memory. The worst traces had been disposed of and the rest was quickly quarantined, to be sent to the Shynn-Carlyle labs for analysis at a later date. There was also the possibility of looking through the files in a more controlled environment, but that would definately wait for later.
"Remove all prisoners to their cells," the prototype said, barely a second having passed while it remained in thought. "All those with severe wounds are to be taken to the infirmary as time permits."
The prototype glanced at Penny and the three colored drones scurried down into the arena and scooped her up to transport her directly to her cell. The prototype was actually looking forward to this evening talk with the prisoner, if only to find out what she knew about Dr. Blade's murder.
Throughout the prison guards were mobilizing. Moving about in groups of three or more, always accompanied by at least one battle drone, they went through the prison inch by inch, securing down cells and trying to find those who had escaped. The prototype itself rounded up several drones and made straight for the armory. Records indicated, and camera logs confirmed, that a group of inmates known for their skill with firearms were running free. In that case they would try and head for the armory where confiscated items were kept.
The prototype moved along the halls quickly and sent a request code up to a blank spot in the sky. It would take several minutes for the code to be processed and confirmation granted, but if the prisoners regained their weapons then the additional firepower would be needed to end this breakout quickly and efficiently. -
Regardless of the fact that it had temporarily released control of the three drones for the Round 2 fight, the prototype was still capable of observing through their eyes and ears what was going on where it itself couldn't see. As such, while the blue and yellow drones had been fighting in the middle of the small cesspool, the prototype had occasionally caught glimpses of the prisoner Penny fighting hand to hand against something that did not register as Hokata. The only explanation for that was that somehow Hokata, a man with absolutely no registered super powers, was able to create some sort of golem and have it attack Penny.
This of course was utterly impossible and discarded almost as soon as the idea had been thought of. The sheer illogicalness of it all baffled the prototype's mind and the android tucked that bit of information away along with several other examples of impossible behavior from other prisoners.
"Congratulations, prisoner Penny," said the prototype as it stepped into the arena, its three drones hurrying out through the closing door behind it. "You have successfully passed to Round 3. Normally a slight reprieve would be granted to heal the most greivous of your injuries, but since you have no need of such healing, the fight shall begin immidiately."
"Here we go, scum bags and baggettes!" shouted the announcer. "The fight you've all been waiting for, the Mastermind Droid Control Prototype Mark 2, or 'Grey', as we all know and love the little clanker, versus the new little girl on the block, Penny! Considering that this little girl beat up the legendary Hokata, smart men might think that she's got a chance! But smart men you are not! Let's get this started!"
"Indeed, let us begin," said the prototype as it lifted up it's pulse rifle and sighted down the scope. "I have never lost, for your knowledge."
As soon as it finished speaking, the prototype fired a triple-burst of coherent light at Penny. But it was aimed in such a way that Penny could easily dodge while not looking at though it was easy to dodge. All other shots that were fired would be aimed in the same fashion as Penny charged. -
OOC: *takes things into his own hands....well, sort of*
BIC: The sharp stick that Penny nudged with her foot snapped cleanly in half, revealing that it was hollow due to rot. The rest of the sticks were most likely in the same condition and would hinder her not in the least if she fell the rest of the way into the pit.
Meanwhile, the prototype had been eagerly scanning the beginning of the fight in order to build up a more comprehensive database on Penny and Michael when a confirmation signal went off in its head. A quick query later and the signal was identified as coming from the Warden himself. Apparently the man wanted to make this fight more interesting and had ordered the prototype to pull something off.
Thinking to itself, the prototype rounded up three drones that were guarding the audiance of prisoners and had them troop down to one of the arena gates. There he had them apply a simple splash of paint to their chests, one red, one blue, and one yellow. The paint was easily noticable on their standard drab grey paint schemes.
Next, the prototype assigned each drone to a combatant as an ally. The red drone would assist Michael, the blue drone would aid Hokata, and the yellow drone would help Penny. After making sure that they wouldn't actually accept orders from the prisoners but instead simply act in their best interests, the prototype ordered the door opened.
The door opened in its typically slow and grinding fashion but had only gone about half-way when the three drones ran under the gap, ducking a bit to get through. They instantly split up, the red drone crouching and then jumping through the air to land next to Michael, the blue one jumping to land next to Hokata, and the yellow one heading to Penny.
"This unit has been assigned to aid you for the duration of this fight," said each robot to its temporary ally and then waited for the prisoner to make the first move which the drone could follow up on.
"At the very least this shall provide useful tactical data," the prototype said to itself as the battle continued.
OOC: Alright, so basically all three of you can control your own drone. They're like the standard Mastermind battle drones and are upgraded with the first upgrade power, so no Full Auto Laser Bursts. Also, their lasers are currently fixed to fire only stun blasts, so no having them shoot to kill.
Control them as you would a second character, but remember that they won't actively take orders from a prisoner. Consider them sort of like a pet/ally NPC you might find in a mission, except with slightly less wonky AI. -
The guard toppled like a log, clearly not expecting a prisoner to try anything this audacious during the fights. The guard's belief wasn't that hard to understand as two battle drones descended on Anthony, their lasers set to stun and firing the moment they saw him.
With his powers gone, seeing as how he wasn't actively participating in the arena itself, Anthony would probably go down quite easily. It was a sure fact he wouldn't enjoy what he would wake up too, though. The Pit was generally a bad place to be. -
You know, I don't I've ever gotten as good a description of Vern as you gave just now. I am quite pleased at this mental image.
<_< And damn man, Vern can do some FREAKY [censored]. I think I'm very glad Toy has always been on his side one way or another.
Also lol, the Necrians's reminded me of Space Marines. -
Hrm... I want to help, but I've never been very good at describing how I do things. I just do them the way I do them, you know? Anywho, I figure that I can contribute by putting up a work of fiction that is essentially one long action scene. Having an example to pick apart and point out good parts or flaws might make this conversation more....tangible, I suppose.
And it gets me some free critisism of my work, which is always good.
So yeah, here's [u]Frakking Super Speeders[u]. Hope my contribution is useful.
Open fire! Toy Dispenser shouted and then he was among them.
A red and blue blur dashed at Mini Bot and a smaller blur slashed out at the battle drone. The drone tilted away from the slash and just barely managed to avoid it, even retaining enough presence of mind to counter with its two buzz saw tentacles. The blur easily ducked away, but this was reason enough for Mini Bot to jeer at it.
Nah nah! the drone shouted at the temporarily retreating figure. Cant get me can you Mr. Mc Stupid Speedypants!
In response the hero sneered at the little drone, sunlight glinting off of the goggles that covered much of his masked face. The mans slim katana spun around almost lazily as he blocked a particle beam fired by Small Toy; if he hadnt blocked it, there would have been a smoking hole where his blue spandexed heart would have been.
All of a sudden a shudder wracked Mini Bots frame and the other robots paused in their firing or aiming to look at it. The drone looked down quizzically at its chest and stared at the thin line that spread upward from its hip joint to the base of its neck. With a loud sizzling sound and a bang, white light shot out of the line and Mini Bot convulsed, its multiple red eyes going dark as their systems suffered critical damage. The bright red drone collapsed heavily, causing a huge burst of dust to shoot up into the air and slowly fall down, glittering prettily in the beams of light coming down through the holes in the ceiling above.
Ever so slowly, Toy Dispenser nervously shifted his grip on his pulse rifle to a single handed one and aimed the free hand at the hero. As red lightning began crackling up and down its length, the remaining five robots shifted their stances as well. All was silent for a few day-long seconds and then a bolt of lightning crackled out from Toys arm and slammed into the wall where the hero had been a moment before.
Suddenly in front of Combat Toy, the heros blade was met by a thick knife that ejected out of Combat Toys right wrist and rose up to parry the blow. But the strength of the blow caused the mammoth assault bot to stumble backwards a step as a sharp clang echoed through the room. A swing of its left arm caused the hero to duck and slash at Combat Toys leg, making the bot list to one side as its foot was cut cleanly away. Combat Toy fired its plasma cannons this time, but the hero had already ducked away and into a crossfire between Large Toy and Toy Bot.
The neon green battle drone pumped out bursts of plasma as fast as its twin guns could charge while the bright blue protector bot launched a rapid fire laser burst-photon grenade combo. The hero whirled around, deflecting the photon grenade and several of the plasma bursts away to harmlessly detonate on the walls while simultaneously avoiding the other shots. Bringing his sword around, the hero darted forward and slashed at Large Toy. An arm raised in self-defense clattered to the floor as it was cut off and the rest of the robot went into convulsions as the heros mysterious power did the same thing to Large Toy as it had done to Mini Bot.
Kicking out, the hero knocked Large Toy into Small Toy, sending the smaller battle drone wheeling and throwing off its shot. A quick shuffle step then sufficed to dodge a low laser blast fired at him from Toy Dispenser. At a muffled curse from the mastermind, the hero just grinned maliciously and then backflipped to land on top of Combat Toys shoulders as the assault bot attempted to bum rush him from behind.
Get the hell off! Combat Toy shouted as it threw itself to the ground in order to dislodge the hero and give the other robots a clear shot.
The hero neatly flipped through the air again and slashed at Toy Dispenser as he landed next to the mastermind. Toy narrowly blocked the blow with a suddenly shimmering white hand, the equipped force field generator serving as a handy point defense shield. With his right hand, Toy brought around his rifle and fired point blank at the hero, who sidestepped and slashed out again with his sword but this time with a second cut as he brought his sword back around. The first slash was dodged as Toy threw himself backwards but when the hero advanced forward and followed up, the pulse rifle was sacrificed to enable Toy Dispenser to escape unharmed.
The hero was then taken unawares as Block Bot tackled him to the ground, the protector bot also accompanied by a pair of seeker drones that buzzed ominously, their thin, whip-like stabilizer attachments traded out for high powered buzz saws. These flew around the struggling pair, waiting for the hero to take one wrong move as he battled with Block Bot for control of his sword.
I may die but Im sure as hell making it hard for you! Block Bot shouted in the heros face with none of his normal lethargy as the robot tried to smash it in with one hand while trying to keep the sword away with the other.
What was visible of the heros face contorted in a deep scowl as he wrestled with Block Bot and saw Combat Toy getting to its feet over the black protector bots shoulder. With a snort the hero twisted the hilt of his sword, causing it to emit an extremely short ranged sonic pulse that tore into the vital systems underneath Block Bots armor while leaving only a small entrance scar. Its eyes flickering erratically as systems overloaded and shut down, Block Bots grip went limp and the hero was able to bring up both legs and kick Block Bot off of him, also hitting both seeker drones with the body and sending them tumbling to the floor.
Somersaulting to his feet, the hero avoided a flurry of missiles that slammed right where he had been. But he couldnt avoid the trailing edge of the explosions and was launched through the air right at Combat Toy, who grabbed the hero in a bear hug and started crushing the life out of him. But the heros left arm was free and he took the opportunity to stab his fingers into the temporarily unprotected elbow joint of Combat Toys right arm. By channeling a brief surge of raw kinetic energy through his fingertips he severed some of the artificial muscles that kept that arm working and also gave himself some nasty burns, which was why he didnt use that trick very often.
Suddenly able to wiggle free, the hero slipped out of Combat Toys grasp and danced away from the assault bot before slashing out for a near miss at Combat Toys head. But the sonic ability of his sword came into affect again as Combat Toys thin eye strip shattered and spat sparks as the massive assault bot toppled backward like a felled tree.
A purple particle beam grazed the heros shoulder and was immediately joined by two plasma bolts that slammed into his back and knocked him sprawling to the ground. A raw bolt of force then thundered into his side, sending him sliding across the ground to painfully collide with the wall. The amount of dust knocked up by all this set him to choking helplessly for a minute, even though he could see the remaining three enemies perfectly through his goggles.
Finish him, Toy Dispenser said to Small Toy as he crouched down low, spread his arms, and started focusing his energies, causing arcs of lightning to occasionally flash from his arms to the floor.
Target sighted, the pale grey battle drone said as it took aim down the entire length of its right arm, which was little more than a high powered sniper rifle.
There was a loud crack of superheated air as the rifle fired and two softer thuds as two battle drone heads hit the ground. Panting hard from straining his powers to the utmost, the hero nevertheless managed to give Toy Dispenser a wide grin as he pointed his sword at the mastermind.
Abandoning his offensive posture, Toy Dispenser stood up and looked squarely at the hero as he raised his hands.
Guess youve got me, he said as the hero started advancing on him with katana raised high.
There was a loud roar and the air was suddenly filled with dust and sunlight as six robots burst through the roof and landed in a rough circle around the hero. Combat Toy adjusted its footing on Toy Bots corpse as it loomed up behind the hero while Toy Bot stood atop the remains of the first Block Bot.
Psyche, Toy said as the heros grin fell and Combat Toy brought both fists down. -
I don't think they do. I believe you recieve several weapons of your choice (such as a beam rifle and shield) and that's it. If you're experienced using a certain weapon (like pistols or swords) the guards might not allow you to use those weapons purely to increase the entertainment value.
....well, that's how I'd have it, at least,
