haha, thats great, I don't know if I'd buy his soda tho.
  2. Haha, as a testament to the artist's talent with proportions, all he got was a head-shot and a written description using anecdotes and referencing some other examples of his work. The first sketch he sent to check what needed adjustment was already perfect. As for the very specific details...those I did not include information on and weren't detailed in the sketch form, he just guessed right in the final *boggle*.
  3. I just got the finished scan of a commission I've been so excited about getting, it makes me feel all warm and fuzzy. I don't want to raise any eyebrows (even though it is very tame) so I'm not going make a link.

    I am virtuous.
    > really, I am.
  5. Lovely job on your character, he made some killer armor on her.

There really are some terrific artists out there who work at surprisingly low fees. I keep telling my friends this--they have a hard time letting go of the idea that every commision costs hundreds of dollars. There are artists out there whose work will appeal to all sorts of tastes and budgets, you just have to look.

I believe you, and usually when I find one your names already on the queue.
  6. lol, Thank you for pointing him out to me in the first place, I posted mine a bit after because I was waiting for a final adjustment, she wears white powder in her hair, and the sunset reflections made hers look pink and purple. As I've already got a pink haired lass, he lightened the shading on the version that I have on my site, so the white shows through.

I do wish he hadn't made his watermark signature thingy over her belly tho, or better yet, given me a copy with it at the bottom or something, but I'd already asked for an adjustment so I wasn't going to get all greedy ;p, and it doesn't show that much really.
  7. Yea, Lady Antoinette by Ysa. She was created for the original palette costume contest 'All Star' with the Bourbon family colors, and has become one of my favorites. She came out so pretty, although she broke the contest rules here .

    New art for me!

Yea! Done by the wonderful Tatious.

My sugary anime char Ophelia (or Philomela when the names taken).

My main Kovrai Khryseai, dressed as she never would be. She inexplicably finds herself in this costume on Monday nights, when she gets sucked into this random alternate universe, darn misfunctioning portals...
  13. *tosses pumpkins at Scarf*

oooh, I've bad aim...sorry bout that Wassy >.<
  14. "someday ill be able to draw a woman that isn't ridiculously over-ripe"

    MMO ART?

After about a two months of time with no communication on a commission, my brain starts in on little neurotic worrying loops. I know personal communications can be an exorbitant time sink, but it's not even necessary in most cases; being able to access a regularly updated queue is usually enough to stop my fretting.

I have commissions open with several artists atm, and if the lot of them were half as communicative and friendly to work with as Wassy has been, I'd easily have double the amount going. The frustration commissioners have after dealing with that kind of problem gets between too many artists looking for their dinner. =/
  18. Those are great! I'm love the way you did their hair, that was a bit of artistic genius. I don't think you missed a nuance in the styling that could have embodied their whole racial origin and concept better, brilliantly expressed!
    Thank you
  19. I'm a little unclear on the requirement/restriction of the color placement your requesting, could you list the specifics in a little more detail please?
  20. I like the mature muscular look you drew for his upper body and the solid straight abdomen. If you do decide to draw him like that, the lack of a defined waist removes the broadening at the hip to balance the lower body with the chest and shoulders. Your reference artists that drew him that way maintained his proportions by using his upper thigh as the widened balancing point, lengthening the legs to keep a masculine shape with the added width.

Strengthening his lower face to add maturity is a good suggestion, in addition to that you might also try to tweak his hairstyle (which would incorporate the forehead suggestion as well). The fluffy bowl shaped hair he has now reminds me of Brendan Frasier's baby faced style, or the school-boy charm of Hugh Grant's look before he went with the tousled, strung out, anemic trend.

A good hair cut of that type will generally cause the hair to fall into place naturally. Most men leave it at that and don't mess with styling it to get a pristine look, so let it tousle a little. Also, drawing it to look like it's grown out just a week or so too long (as most men who are not fashionistas seem to do) will make it look more rugged and masculine, but the virtuous image a conservative haircut subconsciously creates in most people will still give him the clean-cut look of an upstanding-citizen kind of hero. Which is good I think, because when you add color the golden 'boy' blond hair he's got is just going to make him look that much younger.
  21. Well since it's also a concept test rather than just for pure competition I'm thinking you'd like a wide sample of images, may we enter more than one?
