  1. Highly recommend recall friend for a Robots mastermind, as the large size of the assault bot can cause it or other bots to become stuck after going up lifts etc.

Other mm's should be able to get away without it.

Teleport works fine without stamina provding you are running no other toggles and can get an endrx or 2 into it. With only 1 endrx and no stam, don't tp very far!

    Otherwise it's pretty workable.
  2. Good idea Zap Not sure on best advertising though...the people who get as far as looking at these boards are usually bright enough to read other posts or the USA Forums

    Anyway some bumpage!
  3. I'm wondering whether to do a link in my Sig and hosting a website with a big list of alts instead!
  4. It's all about playing style

I'll add my 2 pence as well.

    1) I disagree with Zap about the fitness pool, as I got to 38 or so then respecced into it, and wish I had taken it all along. Is it vital?..Nope definately not, I managed without it for 38 levels, however I much prefer to have it, especially with 4 toggles to keep running and bubbling teammates and bots can deplete your end very fast indeed (even with an end redx in both bubbles and 2 in all 4 toggles). In tough missions when you suddenly want to resummon battle drones or prots due to them dying, you can suddenly run out of end if you resummon, and turning off all toggles before you do it mid fight can be bad for the team, so it's usually not an option (not to mention the wait for them to be up again).

    2) Group Fly really isn't necessary, but if you want to give it a go, be my guest However with Robots, I would heartily recomment recall friend and teleport, due to the size of the assault bot, it can get stuck going through doors or up/down lifts. Sometimes others get jammed as well, due to the AB appearing on top of them. Recall friend allows you to get the affected bot out of trouble, without having to dismiss/resummon or go up and down until you free it (both really annoying!). If they fix that one, then by all means pick up fly again

    3) Powers: I'd recommend Aid other and repair too, to echo Zap. It's great suddenly healing 800+ hp on your assault bot mid mission...enhances survivability greatly, and aid other is a staple diet for keeping the battle drones alive.

    4) Slotting: I'd go with 2 End Redx in each toggle max, and put an end red in Deflection and Insulation Shield as you use them a lot (or I do when solo or teamed )
Equip Robot is fine with 1 recharge, but I would put 3 recharges on the 2nd upgrade power...it really is slow to come back
I like the idea of End Rec in Protector bots...not thought of that, as they do indeed blast through endurance faster than the other bots, which will hardly scratch their bars.
Personally, I went 2acc, 2dam and 2def buff in my prot's as they do great damage later on with the aoe attacks, and I like the idea of stacking their defense as much as possible. The base is low, but they use it all the time, so I try to maximise it. Their heal is pretty good unenhanced, but I could see 2xheal instead of 2xdef working too

That's all I can think of right now, I would go with what seems to work for you hehe. Robots/FF is a very strong build, and you have the key powers in your build. You would have to try pretty hard to make it ineffective!

Good luck on the Robot Stomping!
  5. enough already! *blushes*

I'll have to run for prime minister next otherwise...

    My first MM

A couple of clarifications for anyone reading this post (damn the edit expiry..)

    1) The typos I referred to in the post above were mine converting from another system to Zaps controls, so anyone using those won't have to worry about that!

    2) Zaps new keybind have had the single henchies in for ages now, so contain everything you need (I must have caught it in a transitional period around beta/release hehe)

There is no excuse for not having a good keybind setup as a MM now! It will save you and your team many times!

    My first MM

Just to add a few cents more:

    1) Highly recommend not using FF with Ninjas or Necro. It's OKish early on, but at 38 you get force bubble which is absolutely awesome provided your henchies are ranged...it would be a waste with melee troops as they would be fighting miles away from you Also with the pretty low bonuses to defense, FF only starts making an appreciable difference when you get SO's. Even red bosses occasionally miss your -2 henchies! (But when they do hit...it's pretty much goodnight :P)

    2) Robots and Mercs are the easiest to control by far; as mercs don't have a melee option, i suspect they are the easiest of all (occasionally a bot will decide to run off into melee for no reason at all and needs to be brought back).
Necros are 3rd, as they need some encouragement to get into melee using the Goto command (see keybind comment below), and also need close control to stop them running into new spawns before you are ready.
Ninjas are the hardest...not only do they have the same issue as necros, but the ninjas run twice as fast, so you can agro 3 spawns before you can blink :P

    3) Get a decent bind setup for keys. Master_Zaprobo is the king here, see his excellent sticky on setting up a set of bind files...takes about 15-20 mins to create all the files (and a few mins in game to clear the typos :P), but will save literally hours in game during chars lifetime, and a few group wipes too!

I used to use Khaiba's numpad controls, but Master Zap posted a similar setup using alt+asdf etc. which is much better, so now I use a slightly modified version of that to include controlling single minions (for the annoying bot that runs off into melee).

    4) Depending on playstyle, go easy on the attacks from the primary, I didn't take any, but know a few people that play like a blaster with support and seem to enjoy it

Umm that's about it really! Pick a set that feels good to you, and definately try and sort some keybinds...the initial pain of setup is repayed later in spades..trust me!

(Twice as important on ninjas and necro to get those troops in melee)
  8. Cheers folks! Damn alts! But this game makes it too easy for us altoholics....just create...pick a costume and away you go...no items to worry about ;D
  9. Grats mate, teamed with you before as well I'm going to get Kalg to 40 next week i swear...poor char thinks i've neglected him it's been so long

    New to game

And that is some serious spam :P

but we love his little quirks.....
  11. This is just what I was looking for! I have been using the Numpad pet control system and I like it, except for the fact I have to move my hand off the mouse!

I have slightly modified Zap's excellent set of binds by using the left control button in conjuction with q,w,e,r and f to individually control my minions by name (see the numpad binds system to do this, i just changed the keys) rather than targetting them. And I also used Zaps brillant method of left mouse button to do the goto command savesd me tons of hassle.

    Great stuff Zap

(Now I just need to practice a lot...i suffer from 'Fat fingered assassin syndrome' I know what to press but tend to end up pressing the wrong one ;P )
