  1. *oooh, is your new main as sexy as your avatar??
  2. It's been a long time since I did up a digital painting, and I figured I had better do one soon or else lose the skills.

I like how this one turned out. It kind of has a "school yard fight" flavor to it.

    Hope ya dig.

    Bloodbath

Agreed. I should have spattered it on him somehow.

    Bloodbath

Well, just like we had our "FArt battle" here on the CoH boards, I'm involved in another one over on The Planet boards.

The first month's theme is "bloodbath", and already there are some outstanding pieces. I'm hoping to last a bit longer than I did in the CoH one, so I did up this shot to start it off.

    Wolverine: Bloodbath

    What do you guys think?
  5. I personally have a hard time with panels, so I know what Aerones had to go through. That being said though, I'm voting for Projectionist - his paints are awesome.
  6. Ok everyone, it's been a hard fought battle to get us to this point. We started off with over 20 artists, and now we're down to 2. One of these two artists will proudly be able to carry the bragging rights of "FArt Champion 2008" around on this board for the rest of the year (with all the rights and privileges that come with it).

But for all that glory to happen, YOU must make a decision. YOU must choose who will wear the crown. You must choose between...

Aerones, and his comic strip "The Showdown"

    and

Projectionist, and his digital painting of "Persuasion"

You can only vote ONCE for ONE artist, so be clear about who you are choosing. Because this is the final, the voting will be held over the next few weeks. The cut-off will be May 31st, and the winner crowned soon after.

Good luck to you both, may the forum gods be kind.

    The little fat guy.

I like the Wolverine, impressive stuff.

Yup, Violator, that was his name.
  8. Not sure if many of you know, but I took a LONG break from drawing and only got back into it after playing this game. Not sure why, but from 1994 on, I just didn't pick up a pencil.

I found my old sketchbook and thought you all might get a kick out of seeing some of it.

Bear in mind though, that most of it is from 15 years ago.

    Wolverine

    Sabretooth

    Colossus

    XMEN 183

    Rogue and Magneto

    Spidey vs Hydroman

    Shadowcat

    A girl

    Spidey vs the Lizard

    A little fat guy

I sometimes wonder what my skills would have been like if I didn't stop drawing for so many years.

Then again, maybe a long break did me good. lol
  9. Wow guys, these are really great.

I'll be throwing up a voting thread soon - but it might take me a day or so (I'm flying out of Canada tomorrow).

Be patient and worry not, this voting period will be longer than usual.
  10. I just thought I'd share the banner I did for my SG on Virtue.

Simple, but I dig how it came out.
  11. And here is (I think) the final pic from my recent handbook series. Hope you all enjoyed 'em

My top sites for Photoshop tutorials:

    Pixel Perfect with Bert Monroy.
    http://revision3.com/pixelperfect/
Bert is one of the leading photoshop gurus, makes photo-realistic digital paintings with Photoshop/Illustrator. This is a weekly video podcast (all back videos still available, streaming, quicktime, avi) deals with Adobe products, mainly Photoshop. I've been following this one since the beginning, and the amount of techniques given in plain language is amazing. Also check out his website for a few non-video tutorials.

A couple of the Pixel Perfect episodes deal with perspective (which might help getting a more dynamic composition):

    The Russel Brown Show.

Sr. Creative Director at Adobe Systems, if he doesn't know tricks with Adobe products he shouldn't be employed in that position . Fun to watch video tutorials.

Ah, it's just that I am heading on vacation on the 25th and was wanting to have everything done up with enough time to spare.
  18. I think I'm going to wrap this up this week. So if you were planning on sending something in, NOW would be the time to do it.
