Quote:Ah, ok. It's been a while i guess things changed. I thought that since you could hold them that the damage would be boosted.Uh, Assault sets are mostly composed of single target powers, actually, since they generally try to offer both a single target ranged chain and a single target melee chain to doms. Most sets then go on to offer one PBAoE and maybe a cone, but I wouldn't say Doms get especially good area attacks.
What they do get are some amazing area controls in their primary, which let you literally stop whole mobs on their tracks while you take them down with your single target chains.
If doms were known for PBAoE, I assume it was due to Psychic Schockwave which used to do incredible damage and be super-spammable. This is no longer the case.
Quote:You have received some incorrect information. While some things like high recharge /fiery, /psi, or plant/earth can deal solid aoe damage they aren't even in the same realm as real aoe builds like elec or fire/shield, archery, ss/fire, aoe/kinetics, bots/thugs, crabs, etc.
That isn't to say they can't take on x8 content and do a good job of it though. -
The organic armor reminds me of witchblade; a great costume piece for women, but not that appealing for a male costume.
I would really like some more bestial heads & bodies; for the animal mutants. Less human-like Cat, Turtle &/or Chameleon (interesting stealth possibility w/ chameleon costume), Fish, etc..
Having the sliders effect the shape of the head more would be good too. e.g. the dog & lizard head all look pretty much the same. Not much difference from a short to long snout or wide & skinny face. On human heads that's fine because there isn't a lot of difference (same species) & there are so many other possibilities w/ the rest of the costume. It would also help bridge the gap between human/animal mutants.
However, on mutants & animals the range should be wider imo; so everyone doesn't feel like a cookie cutter copy. Having the ability to have a bestial body & layer on clothes/costume would also be great.
A bestial running power akin to ninja run would also be excellent, though w/ slightly different properties & a much different animation (maybe something in-between a gorilla run & a dog run/gallop).

I'm trying to decide which AT I should build next. I've played a MM, corr, brute & crab to 50 so far. Reading around it sounds like doms have the most AoE/PBAoE damage; Which is what I like. I'm not much for PvP or soloing AVs or any of that, I just like to mow down big groups of enemies; makes me feel more "super" =p.
Also, what doms do the most damage for AoE & PBAoE? Fire? or maybe Psy (because of less resist on the average mob)? I like to play in teams, but I also would like to be able to solo groups of evenly matched mobs w/o face-planting; are any doms tougher than others (or is this totally dependent on your shield & the type of mob you're fighting)? -
over at vidiotmaps they list the locations w/ a 3 coordinates; (Loc W, Loc Up, Loc S)
for ex.
Atlas Park Badge Top Dog 134 314 -341
im wondering if there's a command where i can place a thumbtack on a map using these 3 coords.
much thx.

You make a couple of points here...but it's not about paying attention. The OP apparantley just walked in and bought the product, with no-one to tell him he wouldn't be able to access it until launch. That's a flaw in the retailer. If it's about providing customers that kind of courtesy, then there needs to be that information A) In a big poster practically on top of the product B) A sales rep type guy (or even just the electronic section guy) there to tell anyone who even shows moderate interest in the game that information or C) Something posted at all the registers. The release date being good or not is entirely up to debate, however

this is true. he's not mentioning what store (from what i read. im not reading all 9 pages lol). but if it was retail, brick & mortar; and they gave him the retail box, but not the pre-order box (even though he says he pre-ordered a year ago). that is where the blame should squarely lie.
but if he ordered from an outlet which didnt carry the official pre-order package, then the blame lies on himself. -

Because there's this industry called the "retail" industry, that allowed me to reserve the game even when it was first announced. I find it convenient to use, because unlike purchasing things online, I get to go out of my apartment and interact with actual human beings, who can answer questions and deal immediatly with any problems or issues that may arise.
So you're saying that its the retail industry's fault that they launched the game early, and not at all playNC's fault for locking the game out for anyone other than pre-order customers. Just sit back and imagine right now how many kids got this game on Friday from their local EB or GameStop or (fill in here) and got it home, only to find themselves locked out because they weren't a Super Special member? Think of the customers PlayNC is losing!

it's very straightforward.
the Pre-Order package is what contains the 2 day head start as well as some other stuff like a cd w/ art, map, & helmet.
the Pre-Order package was designed to have people buy the game before release. which means they have money for longer which means they have more time to grow that money & consequently it becomes more than if you were to otherwise purchase it later. it's also guaranteed income.
very similar to how rebates work.
it sounds like you ordered the game through a third party before the pre-order package was available. so you didnt get it, therefore you didnt get the 2 day head start.
your mistake was not ordering through an outlet which sold (& would have changed/shipped your order -> preorder)
if you can post in this thread you can read the front page. there are clear instructions on inputting your pre-order code to upgrade your current CoH account. then you launch CoH and that's it your in CoV.
much ado about nothing.
