My idea is to have the Tankers grouped closely together in an "arc" fashion at Hamidon himself, with the rads & kins spread around them, to allow for a transfusion, AM and Radiant Aura blanket to be established.
[/ QUOTE ]
Well, in theory the tankers should be at one side of Hami(say north) while the Kin and Rads should stay at the opposite side (south?) because they tankers have to take away the AoE of hamidon from the turtle, otherwise there would be no need for a taunting team if we go and hug the taunters taking Hami's AoE in the face...
There shouldn't be ANYONE around the tankers, otherwise they're useless since thir duty is to take Hamidon's AoE attack that will stun/kill/KB anyone else in the turtle.
The tankers have to be at one side while everyone else at the opposite side to hope and survive and everyone should be close to hami enough to be in the Transfusion range.

as the Mitos will hold people trough mez protection
[/ QUOTE ]
they do?! hmm... missing patch notes AGAIN?
EDIT: just thought of something, seeing hami can attack while held, will he spawn mitos as well? Doubt it though, as otherwise they could just make him immune to holds
[/ QUOTE ]
Looks like he won't spawn mitos while held since in the US servers they took him down and I doubt they even THEY can survive a mito spawn but there will be some problems telling when he's held.. -
Defiant's Raid has been called off due to the change to PAs, they used the old tactic anyway, I hope the one we used in my raid will work but I'm a bit unsure now, as the Mitos will hold people trough mez protection and the Dispersion Bubbles won't be enough for us to stay on our feet...Anyway, looking forward to this and bumping the thread a bit

OMG how did Babel and Starlet managed to ding 50 while camping Atlas?!?
Well done to everyone people -

ice is vry good now due to issues 7's defense scaling, before ice used to be a joke but now its rocks pvp and pve
[/ QUOTE ]
PvE I can agree, after I5 it's been a bit of a joke if you never had Ice Patch to tank with because anything +3 or with high tohit buffs made you useless...
In PvP nothig really changed as said in the patch notes(altho I won't believe much of what's said in the patch notes
)

I should be able to get Flitz up to 45 by the 24th but not sure how much use a MA/SR scrapper will be against the giant jello.

I'll hopefully be on the raid with Crimson Cannon, but i think everyone should read this:

Here are the changes that I believe I have seen personally, or have seen multiple independant reports on.
1) Mito's/Hamdion appear to have the AV AI buff. Namely, aggro has been changed to ignore threat levels. PA's now no longer serve as magnets for aggro, and rely on better placement to distract mitos. Mito's also appear to be even more determined to wipe out people on their To Do list.
2) PA's no longer move when out of control range. Dropping PA's isn't an exact science. I've accidently put PA's on south rock or on pillars near the crater edge while hovering over hami and trying to drop straight down. That wasn't too bad because PA's would move to be underneath so you could get the control you needed that way. PA's now stand where they land.
3) Mito (possibly hamidon) Aggro range appears to have been increased. We saw an increased number of people being dropped much farther from the jello than they used to. Took a lot of suddenly dropped people by surprise.
4) Hamidon now fires his attack while held. AFAIK, there aren't any visual cues for Hami being held. Mito's won't spawn while held. It does not appear that Hami's mez protection has been increased. (I think Guardian was the first server to confirm this)
5) DE Monsters recieved the AV/GM buff. Like it or not, due to griefers and inconveniently located spawns, everyone has to fight a DE monster during a raid at some point. That's why I'm including it in this list since the monsters are forever going to be a small part of the raid experience.
It has also been reported that electrolyte mito's have had the magnitude of their hold increased to levels beyond scrapper/tank mez protection, but I haven't seen multiple independant confirmations yet, so let me include
6?) Electrolyte Mito Hold magnitude has been increased. On Pinnacle's 3 hour raid, I know a dispersion bubble was kept on the aggro team but I was an hour late and don't know why. This one may be confirmed soon.

The blue mitos are deffinately more dangerous now, previously I was able to taunt several to keep them off my heal team without any danger, now just one (possibly two) is able to break unyielding. I don't know if the MAG was increased, or if the duration was increased allowing for more holds to stack, but twice on Saturday while taunting a blue was able to hold me. We solved the problem with a Kin spamming ID on me and a FF dispersion bubble on the heal team.

Has anyone done an exploratory run to see if the GM buffs have crazied-up hami and his mitos?
From being on a team taking down Jurassik earlier today, I don't see this raid going incredibly well...
Well, defiant has one up next week or the week after right? Maybe they will share their experiences since they will likely have a whack before this comes up.
Shrug.
[/ QUOTE ]
I have vaugue recollections of the devs saying hami is hami and not an AV/GM and isnt subjective to the changes, I could be wrong though.
[/ QUOTE ]
Yup, the Mitos and Hamidon himself are classed as Hamidon, not Giant Monsters, Monsters, AV or such, just hamidon -
I really hope you have a free week end for the transfer because it'll take at least that much
-
I have 48 material, 16 power, 22 Hardware and 6 prototype.
I'll trade em for the Arcane versions: Elements, Foci, Essence and Glyph, respectively.
Send a tell to @Jiaozy when you're on and as soon as I see it we'll trade -

Can add, rooted/granite/2x CM instant drop.

If this is true, this MUST eb a bug otherwise there's something VERY wrong -
Yup, Tech, you got it right
The minimum number I was thinkin for a succesful healing blanket are 10 kins, 3-4 empaths to keep them alive and kicking while setting up and as many rads as possible for backup healing blanket, eventual rezzes and the so needed AM
The PA drop team can be done with as few as 4-5 people(we did it once, but more joined during the raid and we ended with a full team with just a few mitos left).
-
[ QUOTE ]
who was taking care of the mitos after the PA team came down?
[/ QUOTE ]
No one.
I asked to stop the PA drop after a while and see if the turtle could stand their aggro and the healing blanket was so tick that it was impossible for Mitos to kill anyone in the radius of Transference -
Go spines/regen, no one has every tried that combo for PvP

[ QUOTE ]
Except that didn't the raid take 3 hours in total? With mito clearing, the defiant raids take around an hour and a half. I would think that's faster.
[/ QUOTE ]
It took a bit less than 2 hours from the assembly start to the 'Enhancement Found' message BTW.
And I like to remind you that while you're using the same and tested old way I wanted to try a new one wich, with some practice, will be faster(results from the US where people raid like 12 times a day)and they made Hami in as few as 30-40 mins with the tactics I used.
-
[ QUOTE ]
With regards to suggestions to change tactics, I think that's a bad idea. The healing turtle strategy is the quickest method as we totally ignore the mitos, which take most of the time.
[/ QUOTE ]
That's the whole point fo that plan
[ QUOTE ]
For Jiaozy's raid, after we all got in position, it only took 16 minutes of server time from the first attack until Hamidon went down. The only reason the Defiant tactics seem quicker is because they are more organised than us. The tactic J used, is the most efficient way, we just suffer because we have a much higher percentage of first timers on our raids and seem to have different leaders for every raid and different people in the main control teams every raid.
[/ QUOTE ]
Remember also that the startegy was never tried in the EU servers, it was an absolute first time and I only had a basic idea of what was happening so I had to make decisions, planning, things, stuff, blah de blah on the run to adjust how things where goin.
Now that we've all seen that this method works and _how_ it works, there will be FAR less waste of time and much quicker results.
[ QUOTE ]
The reason our Hami raids are slow is because they are always run by different people and different control teams each time. Trying to get as many of the previous raid leaders back, along with enough new members to learn and fill in for them on future raids is the key to getting them quicker.
[/ QUOTE ]
Also because people are lazy and they'd rather make 1000 times the same mish to make 20-30 million influence and try to buy spare HOs off the raiders.
[ QUOTE ]
Two global channels is a must. Last time, we tried to use one for the control teams and rely on /request for the rest. This didn't work as anyone could use request so the disruptive players were spamming it and ruining communication.
[/ QUOTE ]
Theorically the Global Channel was for team leaders, not just the holding team -
[ QUOTE ]
Well, now that im back and hooked on CoH again, i was kind of hoping to relive the hamidon memories, with another raid some time. Im too rusty to remember the technique, and I know the methods have moved on. However, lag aside, the raid was fun, so if someone organises it, i will be there!
Once a month would be fine? On farm status i think he could be downed in an hour and a half or something (including forming up... )
[/ QUOTE ]
Count me in for as many raids as there will be -
[ QUOTE ]
Will be nice to see if Union can keep up with (or outdo) the pace I've set on Defiant
[/ QUOTE ]
Don't think so, we cannot RP him to death so we'll hardly have an Hami raid every 2 weeks because Unionites are lazy
Not even the people that would benefit the more from the HOs (the PvPers) are up for the time spent + lag to get the enhances....
