Quote:It's the weekend and many of them are at home right now and probably will not see your thread.this is a bit that has always kinda got me upset. as someone from south africa we automatically normally fall into the "europe" category when it comes to gaming simply cause it makes sense since we are in the same timeline. so i went onto mmorpg.com and i see they are giving away promotional codes to unlock constumes for City of Heroes.. and i cant get one.. cause i dont live in europe or the states (not yet i will next year..) my point it why is it always like this ? why do the rest of the countries get screwed out of stuff like promotional codes with games ? our money is good enough to buy games but we are not allowed to take part in promotions ?? how does that work exactly?? i just think it's unfair and i am actually unhappy about how this is always handled. can staff from CoH please explain this to me ?

Quote:There were a few - another guy had one that explained to youngsters about becoming a hero, where the main character would only light in blazing fire anytime someone would say the word 'Perriwinkle.'Cool!! I remember those videos!! Def. my favorite now and at the time.

Yeah I remember. I like the 2nd video better also. I am pretty sure it was honorable mention or 3rd place or something.

We seriously need to make a SG called "Generic Supergroup 8051" in his honor, haha.
No problem GL... but I have to admit, I've always been more of a Kyle Rayner fan. -
Due to Omni's screenshot thread, here is some initial video. Ablative shatters then vanishes once used, to clear things up.
Bio Armor first look
Part 2 will have some gameplay.
EDIT: Part 2 is up, showing survivability testing here. -

Yeah, he was very nice about it. Do to our conversation, I dug around on my machine and uploaded the first part also, and updated all the descriptions for both, linking to each part, and referencing his channel. I already gave proper credit to him without knowing who he was several years ago.
-
He just asked me to keep it on my channel because he lost a bunch of his stuff. He states he would like to make more CoH animations - you can see the comments he made below the video on Justice Avengers 2.

Quote:The numbers are getting changed. Lifegiving Spores is going to cost 25% less endurance, for one thing.Looks to be a bit of an end hog of a set, but I'll reserve judgement on that until I get to play it
The most interesting bit to me was Regrowth.
I'm not sure if anyone else has noticed, but it appears to be using the Vorpal Judgement targeting mechanism, in that it's a cone with a Target:self, so it'll fire wherever the camera's aimed...
That could make life... 'interesting' in more hectic environments. -
Quote:Oh cool - I was hoping to get a full team going for a better grasp on things, but I grabbed what I could. I think we were all messing around a bit so no biggie.Nature Affinity looks nice, Might go with Demon/NA.
Note about part 2: That was me(Spines/Sym) and my bro you played with. Since you 'cut' the vid short of what i did, i'll say im sorry for the team wipe that happened, i was messing with bro and forgot about you till it was too late.
What happened was that he rushed forward and i headed right later on in the mission, i got a good laugh out of Bro(Lv6 or so, Staff/Sym) when he panicked when i told him to have fun with his mob. -

Don't worry, there is a CoH point to this:
Ok... so if you haven't seen it, here is the "Sweep the Leg" music video by a band called No More Kings - really fun to watch if you have ever seen The Karate Kid movie.
Sweep the Leg
So, the lead singer Pete Mitchell is/was a fan of City of Heroes, apparently. He is the very same Pete Mitchell who made some rather famous animations that used to be featured on the City of Heroes media page at this very site, when there were contests for fan videos.
I only found out about this today, because he contacted me on my channel from the No More Kings official Youtube channel, thanking me for posting his animations - which I only did because no one else had them on Youtube. He apparently lost his old stuff and was happy to hear people enjoyed them. He hasn't had time to play lately but said to me that he wants to make more CoH animations.
Here are his City of Heroes animations, which are still hilarious today:
City of Heroes - Justice Avengers
City of Heroes - Justice Avengers 2

Yeah that's a good point, and you can toss end cost in there. I could still see 6 slotting it and putting a heal in it too.
-
Quote:Yeah I hope they buff it before it goes live. The heal is a joke too for the end cost.In it's current state, Lifegiving Spores is an absolutely laughable end recovery tool.
It's 1end per tick and ticks once every FIVE seconds. So 0.2eps base.
Now, that would be pretty decent (not great, but OK)... except that it COSTS 0.52eps, a net end loss of 0.32end per second. That's right. Its end recovery doesn't even cover its end cost.
Even ED capped for both End Redux and End Mod it's a net gain of a mere 0.12 end per second. -
Quote:How about being able to configure the likelihood of inspiration drops to what you could use... say 70% chance of break frees dropping, etc...The request is not "remove all NPC mez", just "make NPC mez less incredibly prevalent and/or long-lasting".
Getting stunned = fine.
Getting stunned by the opening salvo of every spawn = not so fine.
Getting stunned by the opening salvo of every spawn for 10 seconds or more = super not fine.
Removing the threat of mez for blasters so they can facetank the same as other ATs just seems like a really bad idea. -
Well I'll tell ya one thing: seeing mushrooms infect a whole group of enemies made me lol.
The location-based toggle ticks far too slow for the end cost if you ask me. I've got mine up to level 20 at the moment. -
Quote:See, I have to disagree here. Removing mez threat from the game is a bad idea. It makes no sense in the lore, either. Why can only players use mez against enemies and have players never think twice about enemies that can use mez.Ignoring the blaster *cough*buffs*cough* the part that concerns me is that they may look into changing the mez system.
The fact that my scrappers ignore mez completely is fun, if that ever changes I will leave (If they haven't driven me away before that). Seeing exotic mez types like fear and confuse is already starting to annoy me now that I have stopped playing my shield toon. -
Here ya go.
This is just a live, first impressions vid while looking at the set in the creator, for those who haven't checked it out for themselves. No doubt I make erroneous assumptions during it.
EDIT: Part two gameplay at 22. This isn't intended for anything outside of experimentation, and is not meant to show the strength of the set beyond initial SOs and all 3 of us were not trying to show skill. -
