After having done both the sharkhead Hellfrost and the Cap Au Diablo Hordeling routes for 9 characters, I can definately say that the Hordeling route is my preferred method. Stick to the northern coastline between the western woods and the eastern mountain range and use a keybind. Mine was ...
/bind h "unselect$$target_custom_next enemy alive Hordeling"
Fly/Jump back and forth along the coastline hitting the "h" key and "f" to move toward the target along with a ranged power to fire off as soon as the target was in range. Keep the camera panned out as far away as possible so the targetting bind above has more area to "search". -
I can confirm that Bone Crab did not recieve the Demonic badge at first login after i16 even though he met all the stated requirements for it.
After hunting down 200 Marcone bosses for Gangbuster badge and recieving the High Pain Threshhold badge, he then immediately recieved the Deminic badge.
It appears that the Demonic badge has an unstated or unintentional requirement of Gangbuster.

Did you try zoning before checking the progress bar? I've noticed that when I first log in, I have to switch to another zone before the progress bar updates.
Also, do you see the Day Job Predator icon under your health/stamina bars? Some areas/zones do not award progress even tho you are in a PvP zone. ie if you stand near the villian helicopters in any of the PvP zones, you get credit toward Pilot instead of Predator.
I remember being in RV hero side and not being able to find a locator to grant the Predator badge as well. -
I have no problems with turning the visual fx of granite from using the current model to using a model similiar to the other armors.
I would guess that the sound fx associated with granite would not change? I do like the booming sound granite makes when moving.
Presumeably the speed debuff doesn't go away either so one still gets the intial "I'm a 30 ton hunk of rock that will slowly grind your evilness/goodness to dust" feel.
The idea of using a costume change at the same time as executing granite would be a nice way to preserve the "I'm a big bulky rock" feel. At least thats how I feel about it. One could use the costume change emotes too from the Science pack to spiff up when you activate the power too. Not sure how the costume change emotes interact with existing power activation/rooting/animation, but sounds promising enough.
And yes, I do have a stone tanker that I play. Infinity - Bone Slag - lvl 50. -
Contact:Julius the Troll
Story Arc:Julius the Kind Hearted Troll (10-14)
Mission:Clear out Igneous in cave
When I16 goes live, team up with someone who can get this mission. Set the difficulty to 8 man team/cr 2 to 4 and beat the crap out of all the bosses. Do not complete this mission. Rinse and repeat.
I've got this mission saved on a lvl 50 that never went back and finished the story arc so I can open it up for you on Infinity. -
Check out Point Tango and Point Sierra. I ended up liking Point Tango much better than X-Ray. If you get 2 more people to patrol Xray, Sierra and Tango then it goes by really fast.

"So if you ever wanted to see if your Scrapper could take on a map that is populated for an 8 person team ... "

Happy b-day IronBlade and many more to come :-)

One of the rules of thumb I use with any powersets is minions get the easiest settings for both primary/secondary. lts get the next highest on primary/secondary. Bosses get the highest on primary but same as lts on secondary. Elite bosses and AVs...anything goes.
Extreme Willpower tho seems to be a universal no-no even for AVs. You must have a team designed to kill AVs in order to take Extreme willpower AVs.
Playtesting thru this setup has yeilded some good results.
Carrion Creepers is one power that if I see being used, I will quit the arc immediately. Last one I was on where this was being used, at least three in each group would throw these down. Pretty much same effect as caltrops except it interferes with targetting and visually aquiring the little bloody buggers that are casting them. -
I've read everything i can and played around with different settings in the MA editor but can't seem to be able to set up a MA goal of lead hostage to a glowing objective.
All hostage seem to have to be escorted to mission exit.
Is there a way to lead a hostage to an object rather than the exit? If so, would someone explain how?
Thanks, -
bah, edited. I give up to your persistance. You win. :-) I go back to enjoying the game instead.

OK heroes, a lot of people have many misconcenptions about random number generation systems. Lets clear some of that up...
1. rand() or any sufficiently random number genator works fine when it's results are spread out across multiple observers. The rand() as a whole may eventually be predictive(not by a human) but when 1000's of people are picking results out of rand() at random times, the result is that each individual observer will NEVER be able to predict with any accuracy bc each individual user has NO IDEA where in the sequence rand() is and NO IDEA how many other users are picking results out of rand(). rand() on a mod of 5 is easy to predict. rand() on a mod of 100 is not quite so easy. rand() when you aren't the only one getting a sequence is impossible to predict. So drop it on rand(). rand() is fine. PM is you want a more detailed proof that rand() is fine on MMORPs.
2. random generators work against the whole system not an individual. Seeing people with experience with long streaks indicates that the system is working fine because you couldn't predict that you'd have such "bad luck". In fact, you can't predict when your bad streak will end because you can't know all the variables behind the scenes. If you can't predict what will happen then the random generation system is fine.
3. Streak breakers are there to shield against perceived bad luck and actually reduce the randomness of the generator. When missing 99 times in a row has a 7.88e-131 chance of happening with 95% accuracy, it's still possible AND given that there are billions of sequences being burned through, it becomes probable. The streak breaker removes that possibility and therefore reduces the randomness of the system. Streak breakers remove huge chunks of possibilities out of the universe of what the random generator could churn out.
Conclusion:Having a bad day? You just proved that the system works.
For the curious, study the definition between possible and probable. Think also about the scale you are talking about with a MMORP.
