The reason why we don't do this is because players don't necessarily understand the effort that goes into features. Not everything can be voted on equally; some things take MUCH more effort than others. And this is not transparent...

I think he just meant if you had a list of QOL issues and you had an internal priority set for them, take some of the more equally matched ones and let the users vote. Not just a free for all voting on what would be next in. Obviously the "nominees" would be picked by you anyways... eh but whatever.
/I'd definitely vote.

Precisely what I meant -

I've never promised either.
I've gotten them down on a wish list which we dip into whenever we're looking at "quality of life" issues to add to an expansion.

Now that is a list I would love to see. As an aside - I think it would be fun if the Devs posted.... say the top ten and let players vote on what ones they wanted to see. Might be interestingif the devs are planning on adding two, let the players vote on one and then pick one themselves. *shrug* might be fun at least

Im sure they are "in the pipe" Im more interested in some slightly higher priority things such as... stacking armor, fixing the (very few) bugged powers, and screaming bloody murder to try to keep controllers from getting a hit from the squishy bat

I must once again visit thi9s thread and pass kudos out to the dev team here. Not too terribly long ago, I was very concerned over a fourthcoming game mechanic issue, and I totally misinterpreted a post by statesman. Being a good little SW:G survivor, I ran pell mell to the forums to moan anc complain long andloud. Statesman himself responded to my thread (first time that has EVER happened to me) and set the record straight, not only alleviating my concerns, but doing so in a succinct and professional fashoin (a personality trait I was not choosing to exhibit at the time). So - once again, KUDOS DEVS!

7. Will powers have two modes when PvP is introduced (A PvP more and a PvE mode) or will the powers work the same in both situations?
As a goal, were avoiding this as much as possible. In other words, powers will work exactly the same in both PvP and PvE. Were sticking to this principle because to do otherwise would be counter-intuitive to the player (Why does my power do this against a mob but something else to a player?). However, we recognize that sometimes power changes are inevitable for the sake of balance. I just dont want that to be our first resort.

The first time my powers are nerfed to satisfy PvP, I am done with this game. I dealt with this in SWG and I will NOT tolerate it under any circumstances ever again. -
I must say, as I have said before. This game has the finest developer team, with the best player cimmunication I have ever heard of in an MMO. I love the fact that the devs refuse to put anything out until it works properly. I have also noted with great admiration that the customer support staff is top notch - corteous, friendly and very helpful.
KUDOS COH! -
A well written and thorough guide, thank you for posting it!

You know... every time the design team has me ticked off in this game, they manage to come out golden. I offer my most humble apologies to them for any harsh words I may have posted.
I must also say - WOW States! You realy are a benchmark in the world of game designers. Every other MMO design team I have seen on an MMO should have to aprentice with you and your team to learn the RIGHT way to do it.

Thanks all who posted information for all the west coast people. I look forward to beiong able to participate (provided that the actual event is run in a time that allows west coast people to play).
