Again, as to the first one, very well written. I enjoyed reading it. A very interesting theory aswell, hopefully the idea doesn't get copied and abused.

The Walking Shadow observed the scene from a rooftop opposite.
A patrol cop at street level felt eyes on him and glanced up, but saw nothing.
As Shadow drew himself back against the building to conceal himself from the prying eyes, he focused his hearing in on the conversation within the building. -
The drones pulse shots turned out to be alot more accurate than Next's own shots; as his Nova form was pounded by the barrage. The squid form bucked backwards and fell to the platform in a flash, leaving an unconcious lifeless human formed Rufus lying there.
-
As the drones began to swarm down, Next Dimension began to unleash energy blasts above the heads of his colleagues. Unfortunately his accuracy wasn't particularly good and only hit 2 of the drones, as they swarmed onwards.
-
Next Dimension floated forward, his eyes glowing with anticipation.
"Mind your eyes, going Nova" he declared as his form shrunk down into a point of light and then burst outwards in a flash, leaving the floating tentacled squiddy.
He gave a nod and waited. -
On Reds warning, Next Dimension shimmered out of phase.
-
The main man himself fits the description perfectly, but is going through some stuff at the moment (read - upcoming plot) but is the perfect person to ask and get a reaction from (and a reaction will be got).
Infinitron
Level 50 Assault Rifle / Energy Manipulation Blaster
Joseph Infinus, aka. Infinitron, troubled youth turned superhero. A mutant with technopathy, created a business once he was a hero of the city, creating hero enhancements.
Eventually this company took on military contracts, and so Infinus has friends in high places.
Very much a Tony Stark'esque character. PM me if interested in using him/contacting him/need more info.
Inf -
Infinitron would likely do 'My Friend(s)' from Sweeney Todd but with his rifle in lue of the razors of course.
-
Expediently selecting the shut down blast bomb core command, Infinitron then proceeded to select the shutdown all unit procedure from the command list. As it executed, the bots on the floor came to a halt, and then collapsed - inactive. Taking a step back, Infinitron put his fist, wrapped in a small glow of energy, through the console; and then through what appeared to be a server rack.
The screens around the room flickered to nothing, and Infinitron turned and followed the path that the XYY-003 bot had created out of the hull. Assassion had a lot to pay for. -
As XYY-003 grabbed hold of Infinitron, the built up electricity began to run through the hero. As requested, there was a cry of pain. Every nerve in his body burned with the heat of a red hot poker.
Lifting him from the ground, the bot surged more energy into Infinitron, laughing maniacly at the obvious pain it was causing.
But suddenly the servos in Infinitrons leg armour, began to flick back and forth. Seizing his moment, Infinitron channeled all the remaining energy he had, increased ten fold by the adrenaline now pumping through his system, and channeled it through his arms into XYY-003. The bots torso began to glow red with the build up of energy. Using the bots arm hold as leverage Infinitron swung up his legs and kicked the bot with as much force as he could muster - which turned out to be quite a lot - as the bot flew backwards and blasted through the wall, and each subsequent wall behind that. That is, until no more walls remained and he was sent hurling out into the open sky outside the ship.
Infinitron fell to the floor, with both of the arms of XYY-003 now in his grasp, as the servos reawakened. He stared at the punch hole all the way to the ship exterior, and turned to the console. Kicking away one of the crawling bots that got close to him, he began to infiltrate the computer system. -
"Ok, i'll deal then" he announced, as he moved his hand to his belt, flicking open a panel; out of which a pile of ball bearings trickled into his cupped hand.
They too began to glow as he imbued them with energy; and span around, casting them out at the encroaching bots legs. The robotic limbs were torn apart and each either fell straight to the floor, or tried to walk and collapsed. Slowly they still crawled towards him though.
Finishing the spin, Infinitron began to say,
"And now to deal wi-" but was cut short as elite bot smashed its fist into his torso; launching him backwards into the wall. Leaping from where it stood to back infront of Infinitron, it swung an arm down on top of him. Infinitron managed to roll to one side and dodge the hit, and kick out one of the bots legs, bringing it to its knees.
Jumping to his feet, he appeared behind the momentarily downed bot - but not for long enough. The bots whole upper torso span, and an electrified fist collided with a deafening smack into the midsection of Infinitron - again sending him hurling though the air.
As he hit the wall, Infinitron felt the pop as his shoulder was dislocated; and lay immobolised as the electricity has overloaded the servos in his suit.
Unable to move, he could only watch as the bot returned to full height and marched towards him. -
Reaching behind him, Infinitron picked up a large piece of debris from the explosion; focusing his energy into it, it began to glow.
As he hurled it into the room, he dived and fired up his boots, following it in.
The shrapnel tore a hole through everything in its way, clearing a path into the room for Infinitron. 2 bots down already, he thought - doing a quick reccy, eyes flicking around the remaining bots - 8 to go. -
Yeah Shadowe'r is Sean O'Brain, of O'BrainTech.
Unfortunately I am no longer part of that list, as Infinicorp. shutdown a few months back (if you followed the RP story arc threads at the time) after having the majority of staff brutally murdered.
But nice to know someone actually knew about it.
Oh and inf was a hero before a CEO, so has reason to be there (as sporadically as he is).
Meanwhile, back on topic...
Now I wouldn't mention my roleplaying to anyone outside of my gaming community; which includes MoX (currently at 951 members), here, and my mates in RL who are gamers. Everyone outside of that, parents, brother, girlfriend probably wouldnt get it; and are perfectly content to think of me as just a bit geeky who plays computer games. Which i am, and don't see RP as making me geekier - in my mind i have more respect for RP'ers than grinders. After all it is a creative output, with more imagination in the roleplaying forum than many modern writers could dream of. -
Well, this thread wasnt nearly as fun as the title suggested.
I want duck spiders. -
Yep joined up myself aswell. Made a preliminary toon yesterday on test, but not that happy with it; so back to the drawing board on that tonight, inbetween bouts of building my tommy gun.

The noise from the television woke Gabriel; as his eyes adjusted to the light he saw the PPD logo on screen and closed them again.
Turning his head to the left, he opened his eyes again to see his uniform laid over the chair beside him.
'To protect and serve' he read to himself.
Well I failed at that as a normal cop, he thought, but i've been given a second chance. And this time I WILL NOT fail.
He looked down on the scars across his torso, to his right arm. Or to be more accurate, to where his right arm would be. Instead all he saw was the bed, and the metallic shoulder joint that was there in place.
His eyes traced down to the foot of the bed, to a case marked with the insignia of Infinicorp. and his mind wandered to the memory of a conversation. A gift, in thanks for your effort, and your loss.
He lay back and closed his eyes once more, the streets had not seen the last of Gabriel King.
[[Gabriel was brutally wounded in the attack on the Steel Canyon Infinicorp. HQ by the villain Dark Ebon Spider - losing his arm and suffering large burns across his body]] -
As the mites swarmed toward Next Dimension, he merely phased out and hovered through them ((quantum flight)). Once he was clear of the walkway and their reach, he reformed and unleashed targeted energy blasts - but having very little effect.
Meanwhile...
Crawling up onto his knees, Infinitron discarded the broken remains of his helmet.
"Great, rifle AND my helmet. [censored] stupid mission."
Looking up with his solitary remaining eye; the scarred blind eye glazed with a white sheen, he noted that the blast door had a substantial hole in it - where the metal had been vapourised.
"Looks like I made an explosive entrance after all". -
Brilliant. Absolutely brilliant stuff.
Tempted to do my own for Infs acquaintances, but i dont think i know people enough to write their characters. Still i'll think on it. -
Wow.
I don't what else to say. Great writing.
*Goes off to read Ravens piece* -
Have my toon all planned out for this now, Shield/Super Strength tank. I'll keep the backstory a surprise (read - still not finalised it), but i think it fits nicely.
Done a cozzie design or 2 on test aswell. Are we going to have a uniform?
I think that would look awesome, a tank uniform, a scrapper uniform and a blaster uniform [these are the 3 types of toon i envisage]; and i am more than happy to knock up some designs - obviously there would be personal customisation on them - dont want to lose individuality after all (like personal option on shield/head/maybe even gloves).
My 2 influence. -
The first bot to reach Infinitron got the total focus of his energy, clearing its metallic head clean from its shoulders. The rest of the horde began to react, crawling up the walls and the ceiling.
Seeing this, Infinitron launched himself into the air, smacking his fists against the ceiling - sending energy along it. As the energy spread it locked up the joints of the bots and they fell from the ceiling into a heap on the floor.
Momentarily distracted by the falling bots allowed one of the wall crawlers to leap at Infinitron, knocking him back and pinning him against the door.
Infinitrons hands stopped glowing, and the glow travelled along his arms to his chest. With a thrust he focused it into a small but highly charged bash. The bot came loose and adeptly landing on its feet - but its chest was heavily damaged and began to glow bright with a whine. Realising the core was overloading, Infinitron took a large step forward and used a power thrust to send the damaged bot backwards into the crowd of advancing mechs. The explosion was smaller than previous detonations in the city; some sort of suppression must have been applied within the fortress; but it was still enough to blow the wall and ceiling down - blocking Infinitron between the rubble and the blast door, and of course, 3 friendly bombbots.
Seeing his predicament, the bots straightened and stood side by side. Each one made a large click noise before the now familiar whine began and glow could be seen from their chests.
"Not good... but maybe..." he muttered to himself before springing into action with a plan. Running quickly towards the 3 bots, he palmed each one with a thrust, staggering them backwards into the blast door. As he did so, he turned - diving, and at the same time activating his personal forcefield and hardening agents on his armour [(force of nature)]
The blast still hurled him into the pile of rubble, cracking his helmet on a large section of ceiling. Dazed, he waited for the dust to settle. -
As sean spoke, Next Dimension materialised next to him in a bright shimmer. "Lead on" he asked, as he reformed into human form - with his eyes burning brightly and still s white shimmer around his entire body.
Meanwhile...
Pulling up sharply to a halt, Infinitron had arrived at his location; the central core. But stopping him was a very large blast door.
"Where's your grenades when you need them" he muttered. Then the scuttling noise of metal on metal caught up with him; his flying antics had caught quite a bit of attention.
As the first rounded the corner, Infinitrons fists lit up like a beacon as he focused the energy, along with his rage.
"Who's first?" he growled. -
Ok cool, get some AR blasters in there. Not sure what to combine the shield with, i'm thinking SS.
Even better, i just remembered i got the 30 month vet reward yesterday - i even have a PPD chest symbol.
Sweet. -
I'm up for it. Can be my tank shield toon, hadn't thought of a theme for him.
-
"Right, people remember those uni scan.." was all Infinitron heard before he clicked off the communication; but still had the map pulled up on half of his HUD.
Distracted by the momentary message, he didn't notice the drone until it was too late. Ripping the rifle from his grasp, he could only watch as it flew towards the hole he had made on entrance. As it disengaged its grav link, he watched it arc through the air and out of the fortress, tumbling towards the ground.
"Great" he muttered in an angered tone, marching forwards, his fists glowing. As he neared the downed drone infront of Molly, he casually dodged the errant shots; and kneeled down, forcing his fist into the machine, sparks flying as it flickered to a halt.
"I'll let you two handle the rest of these" the almost robotic drone ground out, and as he did he turned and leapt - spinning in midair as his boots ignited and blasted past the remaining bots through the door they had entered from. As he zoomed along the corridors, his suit gave him directions towards the core.
