Will try to be there with my Blaster.
-
you've not missed it. i'm logging in now
-
Sorry Nine claws, i've got stuff on tomorrow, it has to be friday
ok, it looks like we have a full team for the badges, catch you all on friday at 8
1 Spheniscus
2 Master Zaprobo
3 Daylight Warrior
4 Terratron
5 Brazen Hussy
6 Haian
7 Promethean
8 Dr Muspelheim -
Of course, the more the better
also, a couple of other things i completly forgot to mention... the character i have them on is my mastermind Spheniscus, i'll be in port oaks from about 7:45 on friday. I'm not bothered about getting exp for the missions so we'll just be powering through them (unless everyone really wants to malefactor down)
So at the moment we have
1 Spheniscus
2 Master Zaprobo
3
4
5
6
7
8
i want to get these badges on my main character Grieve, so asuming it still works, i'll be doing some logging in and out of charaters between missions. -
Because i'm feeling nice, and because i want them for one of my alts i have several of the port oaks accomplishment badge missions ready to go. Those badges being:
Stone Cold
Plague Carrier
Bone Collector
I'm planning on running the missions on friday 17th Nov at 8PM (British time). Anyone that is interested in getting the badges too post here or send me a message in game with @ilfrit -
that's one of the only achievement badges that i am still looking for so if there's room i'll be there with ilfrit.
-
I'd like to join in, what time are you planning on starting? cos i probably won't be around untill the evening?
if i can be there it will be with:
Grieve fire/thermal corruptor -
Ilfrit needs the badge, i thought she had it (having tried attempted the damn thing a couple of times) but it appears that she's not.
so if you guys have room for a blaster i'll be there. -
Thanks for the great team Suze, can't believe how well that went. Who'd have thought we'd manage it in under an hour?
cya around in game -
sure, res and i can lk both of you, so that'll be no problem. However, we'll probably want to get another brute or two before starting off. So if you know anyone in the right lvl range that's looking to respec bring them along.
i'll be on from 7-ish so look out for grieve.
cya then -
I'm looking to put together a team to give the second respec a go tomorrow (wednesday 11th)
currently there are two of us on the team,
Grieve lvl 41 corruptor
Resurrected lvl 42 Brute
We are planning to meet in nerva at 8pm so that we can hopfully complete it by a decent time.
anyone else interested in joining in? let me know either through here or in game on @ilfrit. -
Personally, i'd re-think taking Inferno and get Thaw much earlier if possible. tho it all depends on how you want to play (as a healer, a damager dealer or a bit of both)
Inferno leaves you with no end recovery for a while, and if you are being relied on to be a healer that's no good. (unless you want to carry around a load of blue inspirations).
Thaw is really useful, especially in the later game when there are stuns, holds and sleeps galor. Your team mates will thank you.
i'd also agree with chelsea and but some end redux on stuff, you'll get double damage on all attacks when the enemies health is low so you may not need 3 damage enhancements on everything.
otherwise it looks pretty good to me. -
"it's Nova-ing time"
Which i suppose makes no sense as i'm a fire blaster, but Nova sounds much better than inferno. -
Gratz on another lvl 50 mate.
sorry i wasn't there to see it -
i solo just fine as a fire/thermal corruptor. Admitadly it's only on villanious (or what ever the lowest setting is) but i don't die. I've even managed to take on 6 white con minions at once.
I find that the AoE heal is more than enough to keep me alive. Not tried it on any higher setting, but that's because i learnt from laying as a blaster that Blaster + boss = debt
as for a balance build. i've managed to get pretty much all the powers from both sets.
Personlly from Fire Blast i've ignored:
Fire Ball: AoE attracts too much agro when i'm trying to heal as well
Rain of Fire: is just annoying in my experience. making enemies split up is very rarely a good thing
Inferno: It's a brilliant power, but as a helaer i need my end. and as a solo i don't have more than 3 enemies on me at any one time so it's a bit pointless
and from thermal
the second fire shild: i forget it;s name but energy powers are reasonably rare enough for me to think it wouldn't add much defence bonus
Annoyingly it seem as though i'm going to have to wait till lvl 35 to get heat exhaustion. which is annoying as i might up the difficulty setting if i could debuff enemies.
all that said... i'd agree that the thermal pool is more aimed at a team player rather than a solo as almost every power is a targeted buff.
if you have any questions about thermal or fire pools feel free to pm me about it -
i can throw in a guide for a fire/fire if you want it.
-
I had already taken my blaster to lvl 50 by the time they decided that blasters needed to have a helpping hand, so i have no experience with it at low lvl. But with my lvl 50 character it's completly useless.
I'm normally in a team fighting AV's or high lvl mobs, which means that if i let my health get to a point where defiance is of any use 1 hit will kill me... which i don't mind as much as debt doesn't matter (at lvl 50) but i instinctivly make sure i don't get to that point. And if i wasn't lvl 50 i'd not want to risk incurring debt
It's also annoying having to avoid the heals of any healer on the team as one misplaced heal can take you out of the defiant zone.
So as a blaster I never use defiance.
I could see how this is a useful power when soloing, as there are fewer mobs, so it can be a useful power to finish off the enemy you are fighting quickly if things start to go pare shaped. but it has no use in a team situation.
Personally i think it would be better if defiance raised your defence or made you harder to hit, that would benift a blaster more. -

I'm an energy/fire blaster, you'll find that you'll pick most of the primary powers. I've taken only the fire swords and buildup from the fire secondary.

i would agree. with my fire/fire blaster i only took fire sword and build up. Which does make it a bit of a pointless pool.
...however it does mean that you have pleanty of room for additional power pools in you build. -
yeah, thanks for getting the team together.
thought we did pretty well, and actually getting the respec was cool. -
have played for a bit today and no crashes as yet
I'll give it a more intence grilling tomorrow but it looks like i'll be coming. -
I'd like to bring Grieve along, assuming that the random crashes have been fixed. if you don't mind giving me a space i'll let you know how the game is ASAP, so if i have to drop out you'll have time to replace me
Thanks -
I wasn'y going to take the shields, mainly because i'd planned out which powers i wanted and there wasn't really any room for them. But you guys managed to persude me to pick up fire shield. It does seem like it would help keep people's health bars from droppoing so quickly, which means i can heal them more effectivly.
and so far i have to say i'm uninpressed with it. it doesn't last very long, and doesn't seem to give much in the way of defence bonus. Now that could be because i've only got 2 DO Defence on it at the moment, but all i know is that it made no difference to the ammount of healing i had to do.
if anyone has the powers and could give a little advice as to how many slots can make it effective i'd be greatful. thanks -

Great mission at the end aswell.

Just wanted to say sorry about dropping 1/2 way through but those crashes i was having were really annoying.
Thanks for the invite to team, and i'm glad to hear you managed to complete the TF -
I'd be up for it with grieve (lvl 25 fire/thermal corruptor)if there's still space. i should be lvl 26 by then
anyone know how long it lasts? just out of interest -

Take the shields..please, take the shields...

lol
i was going to post in the thread you started but didn't in the end. I'd agree that shields are a good idea, but if you want a fairly balanced character (2-3 attacks plus Aim) at low lvl's it's either heal or buff. There's not enough room when you have to include stamina and a travel power.
The only reason that shields would be a necessity at low lvl is because everyone wants to go up against purple con mobs and if they want to do that you'll not have things slotted right for shields to make any great difference so heals make more sense IMO.
Also in my experience of fire shields they didn't make that much difference to damage even when they were used (i didn't ask how they were slotted tho).
But if you really wanted to get shields then i'd suggest getting rid of fire ball and selecting fire shield (AoE agro is not a good thing as a corruptor). you'll still need rez as lots of people still don't carry awakens and even if they do they have to wait for the end of the fight to use them. Rise of Pheonix not only gets them back on their feet straight away but it has a nice knockback effect too so i'd recomend keeping it.
