Quote:Whether you, as an individual, read the MotD or not, it is at least available for you to read. But, as I stated previously, if blue side raids are getting enough people, then "getting the word out" is not a major factor, if at all.If someone replies to this statement with, "It's in the channel MoTD." My reply is so, I like most ignore that simply because I am with several chat channels which all have different MoTD that scroll up in my chat window before the game loads up.
I do not see how Going Rogue will change a player's mind, if they do not like being a "bad guy" they still won't play Rogue Isles content. As for Hami in Praetoria, IIRC part of the back story there is that Hami has been defeated in some fashion or another. Additionally, Praetoria is Lvl 1-20 content, while it might be comical to watch fifty Lvl 20 characters attempt to tackle Hami and his blooms, I see that as exceedingly unlikely. -
I'm late, but...
Pax, always with the kind word for others.
Happy Birthday! -
Disclaimer: I do not, and cannot, attend raids whether they be blue or red side. I sincerely wish I could, but real life prevails.
I can't believe I just read through all the preceeding posts and no one seems to have noticed a paradox here.
- It is agreed that blue side raids have adequate participation, while red side raids are lacking.
- Announcement and advertising of said raids have been blamed for this considerable short fall of participation
- Is is also agreed both blue and red side raids utilized the same methods of advertising.
(The same global channels, forums, and ingame channels are used for blue and red side raid news/announcements)
Hence, the differing results are due to some aspect other than the advertising. To put this another way, I use a hammer to drive a nail, then I use a stick of celery to drive a nail. Same nail. The nail is not the problem. In this case, same advertising. The advertising is not the problem.
The difference has to be elsewhere, and there are scores of possible contributing factors that could be considered.
Hami raids are tough. They can be time-consuming. Red side population is considerably smaller than blue side. Red side has the reputation for causing more people greater levels of lag. Some players just plain do not like being a "bad guy". This is to say nothing about player apathy for an event they do not fully understand, their friends are not already participating in, or a tough challenge they just might fail even if they try hard.
I'm not certain where to find the answer, but if this conversation is to be fruitful, focus needs to be on issues other than "getting the word out". -
Conall's getting cozy with Sooner Spirit herself...
Six-four is angling to dig deeper into what's going on with the Hellions in King's Row...
And now, just when he begins hunting the traitor within the Ghosts, Vir is called away on a family emergency...
The board is in flux, the players are dashing to and fro...
Take your seats ladies and gentlemen, I suspect we're in for a bumpy ride! -
Inadvertantly picking the CoH anniversary day is looking better and better all the time, =).
For those who don't know, or don't remember, April 28, 2004 CoH roared to life. -

Quote:Agreed. Another way you could look at it, they already knew he got way out of line with his pursuit of Rose, and that almost got him kicked out. But, then to later find out that the incident with Rose was not a one-time deal, but rather the culmination of a series of really bad choices leading up to the events they already knew about. That puts his assault on Rose in a different light, when they learned of the events preceeding it.I see, so this is more because he was keeping details from the group, then? Considering the details themselves, I can see it now.
In this case, his actions were so, dare I say vigilante-style, as to force the Ghosts to take action and suspend his membership. Who knows, maybe events in the near future will also force them to re-evaluate how even they look at the lines that seperate the Good Guys from the Bad, and the many shades of gray in between.

By your own words, you do not know what happened or what was said, but you are willing to declare it "childish". You have fast developing bad reputation, here and ingame, maybe just saying nothing about topics which you have no knowledge would be a better option in the future.

Quote:Sooner may want to expand on this but, The Choices story has already played out at this point in this story. Right now we're somewhere in between Choices and Homecoming (if I remember the story titles correctly) where we see the battle that includes Six-four and Ahren tag-team match up against Conall Cian. I won't let the cat out of the bag, but there's a very good (and great fun to read) reason Sooner's taking us readers through this story. I'm as eager as the rest to read it, as not even I (and Six is my character) know every surprise she has instore for us.So, the first thought I have is, why has no one commented on the implication that Ben and Akando are from the same tribe?
Secondly, I'm curious as to Vir's thinking on the Six-Four situation. Their essentially busting him AGAIN for the build up to his big debacle in the Isles. Is it because he didn't divulge everything he did? Of COURSE he didn't learn anything from the build up to the lesson. The lesson hadn't happened yet.
Also, with regard to the Ghosts' reaction to discovering just how much, important, info Six neglected to share with them when he joined their ranks... throughout Book I Sooner's dropped hints to Ahren sensing the Sooner sisters were keeping a secret, but that they would not keep a secret from the group if it could immediately effect the Ghosts. Six had a long #$% history with Rose, bloody and brutal, and that level of baggage should have been revealed to a group of heroes who're dedicated to defeating Rose, and her allies.
Time and again in Sooner's writing we've seen this undertone of faith, trust, honesty, and the terrible cost of breaking them. Six is learning the high cost involved right now, but if you've already read Homecoming (and if you haven't I strongly encourage everyone to do so) you know that somehow he does find redemption. I wonder how that happens and what other secrets we might discover along the way.
*nods and grins knowingly*
You can find all of Sooner's stories assembled here, in chronological order. -
Oh let's just turn this love-fest all the way up to "Rainbow Hugs" level.
T, you rock for being that guy who'll help anyone out, no matter who or what their issue. You set a fine example for others to follow. I am a snob, so I fail to follow said fine example.
Elric, you rock for being one of those rare individuals who exceeds expectations through your wisdom beyond your years, your boundless sense of humor, and unfailingly positive attitude. I am a bitter old $%&@#, so I cannot follow where you lead.
Sooner, you rock for being the woman with the answer, even if you don't know it, you'll find it! You will help out even the most ill conceived plan, and you defend your friends to your dying breath. Here again, I am a snob, so I cannot follow you on this path. -
Quote:Also, a good observation.also the lack of predownload is a sign that its not ready yet.
Thank you for clearing that up, really. -

Anyone know if beta testing for Issue 17 is "open" yet, or is it still "closed"?
I have not seen anything in the way of an announcement, nor have I seen anyone post here about it which often happens when "closed" becomes "open" testing.
I'm asking because a couple of us are discussing what might be in the patch tomorrow, one person opined Issue 17 could be in it. If Issue 17 is still in "closed" beta, I don't see it being in tomorrow's patch, to be honest even if it's in "open" beta, I still see it as unlikely.
Then again, Demon Summoning could be in the patch. Again, possible, but I'm dubious about this as well.
In the end, all I'm asking is whether anyone knows (backed up with a link would be great!) if Issue 17 is still "closed" or if it is now "open". -
I'll go for 4/28, I don't honestly think it'll drop then, but one can hope nonetheless.

I've got it, or rather we've all been had.
This is Jer's own little April Fool's joke. -

There's a change coming to BotZ, specifically the set bonuses it grants, but not everyone can see the chatter about it at this time. To sum up, there has been great wailing and gnashing of teeth over the changes. In the end, the sun will still rise in the east, water will still be wet, and people will still be crazy.

I suspect you're drawing attention to fighting, what at least appears to be, a mob of Tsoo in PI... just a thought, a screenshot would have been more direct and attention getting.
-
Okay, I know I'll regret this but, what is the point behind posting this, if any?
-
Quote:Though protecting what is important to you can be brutal and unpleasant, this quote embodies the most noble reasons to fight."A true hero fights not because he hates what's in front of him, but because he loves what's behind him."
As for this installment of the story... brutally realistic. Good work. -
Uh, I only lick strippers and stamps, since I don't think you are either Kult, I'll just wish you a very happy birthday.

Quote:Ah...I'm pretty sure that they said the "first" of ten levels. You don't get the other 9 until I19.
Yup, what he said...
I believe it was Positron who stated that leveling up, as we know it now, ends at 50 in CoH, period. Since there's been so very little said about Incarnates and the ten levels, speculation at this point is about as accurate as predicting the shape of a forming snowflake. -
Hahahahahhaahahha!
You write Six so very well.
