  1. I look at it this way. The body swapping feature while new and sexy is also, at this point, somewhat buggy. Not sure it's something that SHOULD be released into the wilds of the general playerbase, as there's some potential to completely hose your character.

    What I feel would be a wise move would be to release it to a smaller section of the player base, those who won't mind some of the early bugs and pain as much. Let them help kick the kinks out of it. Then, a year or so down the road, incorporate the more polished version into the costume editor (possibly with Going Rogue).

    So what does that make the people who're buying the booster? Paying guinea pigs? Yeah. But so what? For a "bank busting" TEN WHOLE DOLLARS, you get early access to a neat feature.

    Personally, the feature is cool enough that I'll pay for early access to it. While I'm not COMPLETELY thrilled with the direction the game is heading in, I like it enough to throw money at the devs to help boost their revenues.

    Patrol XP doesn't work that way during DXPW because they're parallel systems.

    AE isn't a parallel system to DXPW. It's essentially straight missions. Therefore, subject to multiplication for DXPW.

    What? Doesn't EVERYONE run dual 3Ghz Quad Core Xeons with 32GB of RAM on a 15-device RAID0 array of SSDs and Quad SLI on a 30" monitor at 2560x1600?

    Seriously though. You can build a box that'll SCREAM on CoX now for about $590 (sans monitor) shipped.

    Granted, if you're REALLY cash-strapped, this is no consolation. Still, with modern equipment, flying on CoX is NOT a truly expensive proposition.

    Yeah. Sometimes the placement of TP beacons is better for where I want to drop. Sometimes the Pocket D portal is more convenient. Plus I can buy inspies on my way through if I run down (more important at lower levels).

    Note: It's a small wastage of space, but I mount up all 5 teleporters. Why waste a long-recharge travel power (Pocket D VIP Pass) when I shouldn't have to?

    So, for me, it's slightly more expensive.

    Small Base help

    Just an FYI, if your Villain base is still fairly small (8x8 or 8x12) go with individual 2x2 TP rooms rather than the monster 5x5 TP room.

    It costs just a little bit more, but you have less wasted floorspace and you won't have to burn the prestige on a plot upgrade as soon.

    WP doesn't get QUITE the same boost that Invuln does, but you can still put together quite a respectable tanker.

    Here's something I just kinda threw together. It could probably be optimized in several places, but I just went at it cold since my only WP toon is currently a Stalker.

    Edit: Just looking at it again.

    That's some CRAZY energy/neg defense (about 3 percent shy of softcap).

    Nice regen too. And you're going to be recovering almost 3x your resting endurance. Factor in Conserve power and you should have damn few endurance problems. EVER.

    Actually, playing in IMAX would result in a narrower screen (side to side). (Your "Knowing is Half the Battle. G.I. JOE!!!!!!!!!!!!" moment of the day.)

    It's called nice 24" monitor, better than perfect vision (20/15) and great peripheral vision (slightly better than 160 degrees).

    I play at even higher resolution (1920x1200) on my laptop. Granted, it's only a 15" widescreen.

    In short, good eyesight. Some of the rather...cluttered, low-res screens some of the people use would drive me up a wall.

    The windowed mode and spanning has some possibilities, as I DO have additional monitors to chuck at the game. But if virtual blindspots brought about by UI drive me nuts, I think physical ones, brought about by monitor borders, would cause my head to explode.

    That and it'd create a mess when I went to play on my laptop then. As it is now, I just drag the stuff along the bottom down a bit and I'm golden.

    My landlord HATES cleaning brains out of the popcorn-plaster ceilings.

  15. Okay, have more or less finalized my defense build.
    Everything, save the purples, are already in place.
    Bids are out on the purples, though I don't expect them to come in right away.

    I could sacrifice some defense for better recharge (LOTGs), but I actually like how darn tough he is and would rather not sacrifice.

    Common IOs and Purples are L50
    All set IOs save Resist Energies and Resist Elements are L33 or max level for the IO set (Pounding Slugfest and Regenerative Tissue are L30)
    The two exceptions are L35 and L38 respectively (Level taken +3) so I lose the set bonuses only when I lose access to those powers.

    So while this build isn't absolutely capped on it's resistances due to lower-than-max-level for the IO sets, the differences are less than half a percent.

    However, it loses very little in the way of defenses when exemplaring down.

    Again, NOT going to be cheap. But for something in the 300M range, you're good. If you want to add a few billion in purples on top of that...

    With NOTHING other than the set IOs mentioned in the guide slotted, your numbers will look something like this.

    With defensive toggles off and no enemies:
    S/L: 28.63
    E/NE: 15.81
    F/C: 8.00
    Psi: 3.00
    Melee: 13.31
    Ranged: 9.25
    AOE: 3.00

    With defensive toggles on and no enemies:
    S/L: 36.12
    E/NE: 23.31
    F/C: 15.50
    Psi: 10.50
    Melee: 20.81
    Ranged: 16.75
    AOE: 10.50

    Actually slotting straight L50 common IOs for defense will bump you up into nigh-unto-untouchable land.

    Be careful though. End management (especially if you didn't go hog wild with expensive IOs like PerfShifter+End and the like) can be an issue. But, so long as you're not trying to mash buttons too fast, it's not an insurmountable issue.

    Also, your DPS is going to take a dive. You'll still be able to kill stuff, eventually, but you're not going to do it as fast. Careful slotting can help aleviate this.

    Currently my build needs to be reworked to squeeze in Hasten to perma rage and DP.

    Note: Most of the set IOs in my build, to get the numbers above, are L33 (so I can exemp down to L30 and I lose nearly nothing in the way of defenses). A couple of them are slightly higher, as I'd lose the set bonuses when I lost the power.

    If you don't care and go for max-level set IOs (where I went for 33's), your resistance and recovery numbers will be slightly better
