I completely forgot to mention Defiance 2.0 in my original list. Fight while mezzed? Yes please!

Quote:My favorite was 6 slotted hover (no suppression) + whirlwind (with knock-up) + follow. You could literally carry a NPC to the top of the zone and shut off whirlwind. Talk about a Wilie E. Coyote moment.Oh, for the days of unlimited knockback. You haven't lived until you've blasted a lieutenant 10 stories into the sky, watching them become a dot and then come screaming and flailing back down to the ground to go splat. Talk about a hoot!

Off the top of my head:
Joining a PUG that kicks tail and keeps me laughing with witty banter at the same time.
Alternate approach to get great gear with the A-merits.
The immersive story writing and NPC dialog. Especially the newer missions. Just keeps getting better.
The ability to make my own lair.
O-portal, how I love thee.
Short circuit + Power sink = Bye-bye blue bar
Variety in mobs from aliens, witches, gnomes, talking trees, robots, fascists etc.
Battling the named, costumed rogue gallery villains like Hollow Point
Nurses selling inspirations in the hospitals
Slugging it out and coming on top against a really tough EB with a "squishy" (even if it takes a couple of tries)
Oh hello, Alpha slot. Will you marry me (don't tell O-portal). -
Looks really homey. That's some really great ideas you've got their.
*plans on stealing said ideas* -
Hi gang. I just signed up a couple of days ago but forgot to post here.

I'd sign Lothic's idea of a customizable vet pet.

Hi Talos,
Using plain follow in a bind/macro is simpler and if it suits your use that is what is important.
I like the way I've shown because it will always follow. Using the method you have shown, if you were to press your power button again or say an alternate one, it would interupt the follow sequence (at least that has been my experience).
I do know my way is more complex and most people could like the more straight-forward approach you have shown. I'm just offering this as an alternate that assures a definite follow each time the power is pressed. -
A while back, I was trying to make a bind that used the 1/0 Booleans argument to get follow to perma follow (in other words, pressing 'F' would always follow, not toggle). It turns out that the follow command does not accept arguments even though the manual says it does. Well I proposed this problem on the forum and Starhammer came up with a really slick, two file bind that does exactly what I wanted. So credit for this tip goes to him.
I took his recommendation one step further and decided I wanted my melee based characters to run right up to their chosen target and clobber them. One key press. Simple as can be. By adding the following files and updating my character's main keybind file, I can do just that.
Let's set this up for a power in the number 3 slot for examples sake. You can duplicate this process for any power slot you chose. Just replace the 3 in the lines below with whatever number you chose.
Note: My binds are in a Bind folder on my C drives root. Yours may be different.
First, make a file in your Binds folder called fol1-3.txt
Paste this string:
3 "+down$$follow$$-down$$powexec_slot 3$$bind_load_filesilent C:\Binds\fol2-3.txt"
Next, make a file in your Binds folder called fol2-3.txt
Paste this string:
3 "+down$$forward 0$$-down$$powexec_slot 3$$bind_load_filesilent C:\Binds\fol1-3.txt"
Finally, go to your main keybind file and replace your 3 bind with this:
3 "+down$$forward 0$$-down$$powexec_slot 3$$bind_load_ filesilent C:\Binds\fol1-3.txt"
Open the game, reload your keybind file and enjoy.
Now, whenever you press the 3 key, no matter how many times, your character will home right in on their selected target. If you simply added follow to your 3 bind, multiple presses would toggle the follow action. This gives a more definitive lock and run. To break the follow simply press any of your movement keys.
Note: Very rarely the bind will go out of sync and the follow will only work while the key is held down and halt once the button is raised. To fix this, simply reload your keybind file again.
I find this pretty useful. It's mostly useful when someone is just out of my reach more so than say across the room but I use it then as well. Others may not see a need for it. Let me know what you think. -
Hi Deadboy. So +2 difficulty with Bosses, equivalent to 1 hero? That feels about right to me. And I agree with what you said about MI's.
-
Thanks for the reply, Winterminal. I will post a Mid's build dump later if it will be worthwhile to show my set bonuses. I do agree it's subjective to playstyle and that is part of what I'm trying to determine. HC is sort of a jack of all trades, master of none setup.
He has hold procs in both blasts and electric fence, plus tesla cage and shocking bolt so my mitigation through holds is pretty prevalent. I have a celerity in super speed so I can stealth or rush in and fire SC for the melee range end drain (but as discussed mezzes can counter the full drain required from PS). Of course I could always pop a BF proactively and not have to worry. I just like a build to be more self sufficient instead of counting on outside influence.
I also have fly with end cost reduction so I can "hover blast" and I have tested with a Cardio on the beta server and I have no problems end wise fighting while flying.
I've also tested on the beta server picking up the fighting pool and shows, subjectively for me, an overall feeling of less squishiness. I think my melee range apprehensions will wane once I19 hits. -
Hi. I have a question for other level 50 elec x3 blasters out there. What is the max difficulty setting you feel comfortable running your character solo at? I'm just trying to gauge where I think HC (and me as a player) should be playing at.
I have great luck locking down a tight group of NPCs with SC and PS providing I don't get mezzed between powers. But if I do, the lack of complete end drain can put me in a heap of ticked-off villains.
I know this can vary from NPC group-type, but I'm just looking at a general consensus. Thanks for any input you might have. -
Thanks je_saist. I know I read about the slots being a no-go but I must have missed the pool cap. Too bad but the greatness of inherent fitness is more than I would've expected to get anyways so I have no complaints.
-
What do you feel is the likely hood of the devs increasing the pool cap of 4 or even lifting it all together? I know part of the argument has been that if people take too many pool powers they could be missing out on some necessary primary/secondary powers and therefore 'gimp' their characters.
But now with the advent of inherent fitness, the characters that previously took stamina will have 3 free slots. That gives original fitness users back one pool which is great. I could however see placing maneuvers, combat jump and recall friend in a build as some low cost (ie minor slotting required) powers.
My thought is it may not appear likely but inherent fitness and the city traveler vet reward both were tremendous changes that years prior I would have said never would have happened. I'm sure this topic has appeared before but I haven't seen much talk of it surrounding the impact that I19 will have.
In no way do I want to sound unappreciative of the great change of inherent fitness, I'm just curious about the pools' cap because it could add to even more customization. General concusses might be that it's completely unneeded and I'm off my rocker. I think it's not a necessity by any means, just a nice added perk. What are your thoughts? -
The way some of the pieces are currently structured (some head details come to mind) are inverted with what should be the primary color in the secondary slot. I think this would be a great feature to add next time they are updating the interface.

I have a E3 blaster with SS and Fly. Speed pool is already taken due to Hasten for faster Surge of Power recharge. So a Celerity in SS and I have virtual invisibility. Great for stealthing when desired. Fly fits my characters concept, gives more flexibility/accessibility and can be used for "hover blasting" when required. With a Cardio from the Alpha slots coming, I can fight while flying if I desire with hardly any end drop.
I think the amount of time I'm using one or the other, and the utility purposes they serve, I'd be hard pressed to find a more worthwhile power that I've missed along the way. YMMV -
I wonder if with the level shift will it affect how you earn inf/prestige. If you are being treated as a 51 fighting a 53 boss, it might be a reduced reward compared to a 50 fighting a 53 boss. Either way, it sounds like a cool mechanic for the game.

I would say 8. Tricorder aid-self on a magic based character still feels strange to me. I would also love to have the option to remove or at least tint Hasten and SS.
