Depending on where you want to take the nevermore plot, you could lessen the "ripples" by having Alan marry A. N. Other model, possibly splitting up Hollywood style a few months later.

Very few people could link Aluria to Stargazer after all.

Of course, if the direction of plot demands that Alan never married, then that's fine, but if it's not strictly necessary....

Quick post since otherwise I'll be late for work.

Most of the "unexplainable" stuff actually fits if you remember one thing, Paragon City is technically the last place still fighting the Rikti war. This isn't peacetime, it's known that there are still Rikti cells still active in the city, just not where and what they're doing.

The war walls, likely curfews, massive security presence, the fact that areas of the city recently destroyed are ignored and forgotten in favour of new "war" technology are all consistant. Why rebuild when there's enough housing and you can better protect people in a tighter area, rebuilding is for when the war is over.

No kids - I would guess that every kid in the city is either a hero, a key personel dependant (doctors, police, fire men, rikti research scientists and heroes) or from a familly too poor to be able to evacuate, every other familly with young children would have been top of the "relocation" list when war, if not broke out, then when war was confined to just Paragon.

As for "Earth for humanity" IIRC it says Humanity, not humans. It could be an anti-metahuman message, an anti Kheldian message, or it could be war propoganda. I'm inclined to think the last personally.

Slightly OT, but here goes.

GG is _mostly_ freeform persistant character RP, in that most people will be just playing their characters. That said, there's normally at least one person GM'ing in effect. Recent examples have been the Orbis Conspiracy and Blood and Bone. The individual groups (Cirque, GoD and Vigil) often have a member acting as GM and running plots mainly aimed at the group too.

I've never yet, bar the occasional end of plot mission where the GM has basically taken a mission and tried to desperately fudge it to fit with a lot of imagination, seen a GM'd mission. The lack of adaptability and knowing where everything is tends to cause problems. I have been on IC missions that were chosen so that the objective of the mission was the same both IC and OC, normally infiltrating bases and finding computer records.

Union is the unofficial Roleplay server, and has a much larger RP community. I'm sure there are RP'ers on defiant, but you'll probably have to track down an RP supergroup since I don't think they have any regular social meets like the union GG meet, which does help for attracting RP'ers together.

Try putting a comment like "Roleplayer looking for roleplayers" in your search comment and broadcasting occasionally asking if there are any RP'ers in the zone.

exactly what goes into the sauce depends on the place, I use Soy and Sugar in mine, but all the alcohol is cooked off anyway, so don't worry about driving, unless you also want a drink.

Z, I promise there will be things you will like, they've got a pretty wide selection of stuff that's almost familliar to western palettes.

As for the sushi - cucumber, pickles, sweet omlette, inari (sweet bean curd) there are lots of things that aren't saw fish in sushi - sushi means vinegared rice, sashimi is the raw fish, and while it will be there, there's loads of other stuff...

Sushi is easy, it comes in bite-sized pieces, you can use your fingers if you have to, but chopsticks are fairly easy to use.

Japanese rice is also a much stickier rice than chinese/american rice, so it sticks together in bite sized clumps which are easy to pick up with chopsticks.

If we're intending to make a long meal of it I suggest we order bento (boxes with a meal inside - I recommend ton katsu, gyudon or okayodon if you're not a fish fan, ton katsu is breaded pork, guydon is a beef and onion dish in a sweetish soy sauce, and okayo don is shredded chicken inside a poached omlette) and then treat the sushi more like tapas rather than trying to make a full meal of sushi - although it can be done!

That's a point, since I know you'll read this, wash a cup of rice when you get in please J, two if you want fried rice tommorow.

Moshi Moshi is a sushi bar, one of the ones where you sit at a table and the dishes come round on a little conveyer belt and you just pick what you want.

FFM - I can't eat fish (don't ask, J will rant, I'm sure he's ging to try and slip something fishy on to my plate) and although you will have to eat seaweed, you won't be able to tell.

Just sit with me and I'll pick out all the non-fish stuff on the menu, I'm very very good at it.

Or we can try and see if there's a teppanyaki, I'm certain there has to be one (the ones with the big hot plate and the chef smashing eggs in the centre)

Taking a random recent date (6/11/05) and filtering the logfile to include only local and emotes, I logged 1502 lines of text, of which 1460 were IC, or, in other words 2.3% of all comments to Local were OOC.

I'd love to know where you got 80% from.
