Why is it that people come on these boards with legitimate complaints, and then a gaggle of posters call "whiner!".

Hey, stop using the boards for one of thier chief purposes!

I don't know if these guys realized this, but the devs have actually actioned issues which have been vetted on these boards. The halloween event is a recent example. Also of note is that the RSF is being lowered to level 53, and villains are going to get access to the hami raid.

Not all complaints are worthwhile, but at least make that case instead of the ad hominem attack of "Whiner!"

    [/ QUOTE ]

People already did make the case. The boards aren't here to make the same complaints over and over and over again, nor are they here for people to use to try and bash the devs.

Ok Foo, this just made me chuckle. I mean, do you live on the same planet as me? People will complain about absolutely anything no matter the situation.

    [ QUOTE ]
You're essentially saying, "Well, no matter what they do people will complain," but the majority of people only complain when they're getting antsy and bored, really.

The pessimism is strong with these ones, my master...

Maybe I'm naive, but I genuinely think that if you're keeping people entertained, most of them will shut up and play the game. Sure, they'll [censored] on the boards while they're at work, but I really think most people prefer playing and having fun to whining for whining's sake.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Most maybe, but there is that group that is not happen no matter what and feel the need to voice it constantly.

    [/ QUOTE ]
Right, but is it really a good idea to make policy based those people?

    [/ QUOTE ]

I was never arguing anything about policy. *giggles*

tha'ts because it's a developement house that publishes their own games, so the games are pretty as hell with all kinds of fancy cut-scenes and movies and pretty graphics, but by the time the game is released anything "new" about it will have been done already because it took so damn long to come out.

For as muhc as I hate publishers like EA and LucasArts and Atari for pushing their dev houses too hard and playing the "release it now, patch it later game", Blizzard is a prime example of the other end of the spectrum.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Prime example yes. But none the less, they really should not give out release dates when they are nowhere near even close to having a game done. Don't get me wrong, I like Blizzard, I have a bunch of their games, I love them (ok, not a WoW fan, got bored of it way too fast), even made new maps and mods for Star Craft with my brother, but I have always hated how they say "such and such will be out on...." and then push it back 3-5 times.

But, back on topic. I still prefer that the devs of this game take their time in getting things working better, though maybe in the future trying to do less per issue might be a good idea.

Anyone remmeber when this thread was about I8?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Nope. Soon as someone decides to bring up other gaming companies it all goes downhill.

Ok, so it went downhill way before that.. but still.

Our devs can do better than that.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Not even Blizzard, a company highly regarded for it's quality of games, can do the things you ask.

    [/ QUOTE ]

It's very easy to produce quality games when you produce them years behind schedule/release dates.

Star Craft Ghost anyone? Release date, November 2004, shelved until further notice.

    [/ QUOTE ]

To be fair, though, Blizzard wasn't the ones actually developing Starcraft: Ghost. It was a third-party from the very beginning, with Nihilistic being the original developer, before it was later moved to Swingin' Ape studios.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Ok, well how about WoW, it was delayed. The update for battlegrounds was also delayed. D2 was delayed way back when, so was Brood Wars. In fact, I honestly can't remember a single game that came out when they first said it would hehe.

Why is this so funny? Could you please explain? I've played WoW a couple times(only 1 month when I first bought and just recently). It's not my particular cup of tea but my friends like it a lot and that's mainly the reason I play it. I like playing with RL friends where possible. I'm here because I love superheroes but even the current release schedule is getting to me. I didn't find WoW a bad game and there was certainly a LOT to do and according to one friend, he was quite happy with the content/frequency of the updates. I don't understand that in all non-WoW forums, there is nothing but hate and the spurning of it's success especially if the two games are compared.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I played WoW for a few months. I ran out of things to do, I played a few character to high levels, both sides.

The reason why it is so funny is because Blizzard is HORRIBLE at keeping their schedules. We aren't talking weeks or months off, but years.

Well, if you need to build up more of a charge, I've got couple volunteers...
    Feliney Assault, who you know...
    Piracat,
Medikitty and Feliney Mischief, though I need better shots of her costume (Claws stalker.)

After digesting this thread for a little while and thinking about it fully, I've come to a conclusion.

The Playerbase really doesn't know what it wants.

Reason: Look around this thread. Then look around the training room forum. How many posts do you see where someone says "Put I8 on live now!" versus how many you see that say "Wait and fix all the bugs first!" How many times over the past year have we heard the "I'd take a whole issue of just bug fixes" hogwash versus how many people claiming there's not enough in an issue to warrant its development? Or the people claiming they want smaller updates faster versus those who say there isn't enough in each update?

So, going by what the forums have stated they want, we can make this list of demands:

    * More stuff in each update
    * Less stuff in each update
    * Wait until all bugs are fixed
    * Push it live now and worry about bugs later
    * Give us more missions and content for level 50s
    * Give us more missions and content for every other level for my alts
    * Give us more costume pieces
    * Stop wasting time developing costume pieces
    * Just give us an entire issue of bug fixes
    * Bug fixes are not content and shouldn't be wasted on an issue
    * Give us faster updates with new content
    * Take your time and finalize content, don't just give us halfbaked new stuff

See where the problem comes here?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Ok I seriously spit coffee out from bursting into laughter after reading this. Thanks a lot Taser!
  17. [ QUOTE ]
So how long will a new hair style keep you busy? Isn't that what "content" is supposed to be. I would understand your point if I was talking like a sailor but one [Censored] doesnt constitute raising the point of swearing. Honestly, I think you just want to defend the devs and the game even when they are wrong, or arent delivering enough.

    [/ QUOTE ]

It raises it just as much as me saying chill out.

I guess I'm just one of those people who is happy we actually get new things. It doesn't bother me if it's stuck somewhere in the game that I won't venture, at least it's something. And I know evenutally they will get around to something I will use.

Do I agree with the devs holding off as long as they have with new high level content? Nope, I think it's been a long enough time since lvl 50's have actually had something new to do. But I'm not going to gripe about it because that really doesn't get anything done.

Maybe playing an MMO where the devs took more away from the game then they added has made me appreciate getting updates more.

Honestly, I dont give a rats [censored] about Vet rewards or arena Kiosks In pocket D. Police bands and safeguards Plus faultlines the only what I consider REAL content. I could make 18 million different costumes but that wont stop me from repeating the same missions over and over again with different powersets. The game needs content not just new costumes.

    [/ QUOTE ]

And you are getting content. A good amount of it.

Man people need to learn to chill out.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Content for a level 15 toon I dont have. And some generic mishes with temp powers. Telling people to chill out doesnt come off very well, this thread raises alot of good points and isnt just another whiners thread.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Neither does swearing and saying that the content they are adding is not what you consider to be content.

Everything added to the game is content. A new hairstyle? Content. A new story arc? Content. Just because it's not content you won't or don't want to use, doesn't mean that it is not still content.

I have a few 50's, I'd love to see some new content for them, but I'm also willing to wait so they can make whatever it happens to be worth while and not just another zone or something that I will get sick of.

I avoid Striga now, done it too many times. I am getting sick of Croatoa. I neither like nor hate the Hollows. But it's still all content none the less, just not stuff I'm using anymore.

Yep...considering that I9 will be considerably larger than I8 I would easily wager a guess at a May-June launch for it...hell, by then they'll have to come up with new Vet rewards to go past the 3 year mark.

So don't feel insulted or aggravated when someone comments on a piece or posts in a request thread and it is illegible or the meaning is unclear.

While I agree with this, I believe a lot of people who have a problem with spamming know English, as shown by their arguments with people after they've started spamming.
