"Well I'm very fast on my feet, I could handle that." Hermod said perking up, well, it's better than nothing.
"Ah, a supaspeeder." She said.
"Well, sorta."
"What do you mean sorta?"
"I'm a replcement Norse god." He said prefectly seriously. The old lady looked at him and then started laughing histericaly.
"You got the job." She said in between snorts. Hermod decided not to correct her, he didn't get laughs like that from his acctual material. -
Hermod looked at the piece of paper he had gotten from the DMV. "Impounded? I'm a Hero, I don't have time to check where I park when I'm out saving the city!" Hermod had said this atleast ten times by now as he walked the streets of Kings Row. He was looking for somewhere that didn't know him to have him do a proformence for them. But word of mouth had spread about the failed comedian and things weren't looking good for his motorcycle Sleipnir.
Things hadn't looked good for him ever. But atleast in Boston he could get by. Thing had gone dow hill ever since he had read the Voluspa and met the Norns of Fate. Well, things hadn't acctualy gotten that bad, atleast it was more exciting this way.
"You're not suppose to be here, you must be punished for it, oh, and by the way could you save the world please?" Hermod's voice was a perfect mimic of a womens voice. "Jerks." He said to himself.
He saw a building he hadn't seen before, he looked around. He could have sworn there had never been a Diner here before. Hermod smiled, maybe they hadn't heard about his short comings as a comedian and he could atleast get Sleipnir back. He entered and saw an old women taking to another woman. "Uh, excuse me? Could you use a comedin?"
Hermod hadn't yet taken off his costume, which was just regular clothes with a cowboy hat, an olive green cape and an assult rifle.
"Aren't you Hermod?" The woman asked.
"Uh, yes."
"Thought so, that was a horrible show." Hermod sighed and took a seat seeing his hopes crushed. -
What can you tell us about the Blood of the Black Stream EAT?

I'll try and keep this brief.
Will the Lord of Frosts ever return and statr a new Imperial Wind?
Could you give us an idea of place we will see when we start leaving Paragon and helping the rest of the world? -
I'm in the, 'Recluse-doesn't-hate-States-because-of-the-god -inside-of-him' camp. Oh course this could mean he'd end up being the incarnate of Hades.
Also, Marcus Cole (Statesman) went East back in 1918 and returned in 1931 all alone. No Stefan Ritcher, no Monicia Ritcher and became a hero. Does this strike anyone as a bit odd. He was gone for 13 years, it didn't take him all that time to find the Well of Furies. I think States, ture to Zues form, slept with Monica. But I don't even think if Recluse was over protective of his sister that that alone could turn him against States. Recluse started out as States ally, I think Recluse might have felt it alittle odd for a close friend to fall in love with his sister, but he probly wouldn't hold that against such a close friend. But, again, true to Zues form, States slept with another women might tip Recluse closer to lopping off States head.
but there is noway that's enough to justify Recluse's anger. No Statesman had to have doen soemthing else. Like someone else pointed out, Stephan Richter is a German name, States fought in World War One. Old grudes don't heal that quickly. Just something to think about. -

I was thinking the same thing,
Stheno could be the sister that Recluse was reffering to in the comic.
a sister in divinity as it were.

Wait, so you think that one of Medusa's sister is also Recluse sister? That's a new level of crazy, expecialy since the Snakes appear to be out for Arachnos blood. No, that doesn't add up. Also, Baracuda is with Mako and is a hybrid Coralax, she ain't Recluse's sister either, but I'll bet his sister will play an important role in either his orgins of hating Stateman or in the on going story or both.
[/ QUOTE ]Not recluses sister, but the incarnated god inside recluse. Shes the gods sister.

Where did it say that. Recluse simple said, "My sister send her regards." That doesn't prove it one way or the other. -

I'll miss your uber effectiveness Glue Arrow. I saw that one coming, but I loved it while it lasted. I know what I'll be slotting Glue Arrow for now. And an excellent call moving Ice Arrow out of the earily picks, there was no reason to even pick Entangle Arrow when the obviusly superior Ice Arrow is available.

I plan to serve Lord Recluse, my ultimate goal would to have the power of the Arbiters so I have power over the Rogue Isle that not even Ghost Widow or the other generals can hold. But that is just one part of my master plan.

Chapter two
A Fearsome Storm
Bullets hissed through the air as the Marines took up postions as the tried to take the Japaness defences. Lance Corporal Don Cross fired back when ever he could. Being a near bullet proof muntant he was still scared of bullets. The whole group of Marine were advancing as quickly as possible. The recent air raid had left the Japaness defence in shambles, but they were not going to give it up.
A bulletcaught Don in the Shoulder and it bounced off. He grabbed his shoulder. "I'm never going to get use to that." His shoulder hurt, but atleast he was still in one piece. Not everyone was so lucky.
Don's eye returned to the battlefield and saw something that he could only think of as insanity. A lone man was charging towards them armed with only a sword. For a moment Don was sure that it couldn't be happening, but then henoticed the man was picking up alot of speed, an impossible level of speed. Someone yell, "An Imperial Wind!"
Don was shocked, but quickly aimed his rifle and fired upon the approching Meta Human. Many of his fellow Marines did the same. No one could blame them, they had all heard the stories about the Imperial Wind and this was the first time they had ever seen one. The bullets flew from dozens of rifles, none found there mark. The approching man had put on an extra burst of speed and all the fire missed.
He charged head long into a group of Marines and cut them down. Don could only describe it as a masacre. He had heard that sword play looked like a dance, but in this case there was nothing fancy about it, it was striaght foward killing.
The man did not even stop to kill anyone, he continued to run at an unbelivable speed. He speed past the unit and turned around for another sweep. He cut down another group of Marines as he passed.
Don had forgotten about the Janpaness defenders until antoehr bullet whizzed right past his head. It seemed many of the Marines had forgotten about them with the Meta Human cutting them down. Don focused his fire on the Defences and continued foward, it was the only thing he could think of to do.
Then he man came back, right at Don. Don Fired at the man, but was out of ammo. He reached to reload and the man over took him. The Blade came down and Don forgot everything. He raised a arm to defend himself and watched the blade come down, prepared to have his arm hacked off without slowing the blades as it puched towards his vital organs. But the Blade did stop when it hit his arm, it took Don all of three seconds to remember his mutantion and then he took a swing a the shooked swordsman. The Imperial Wind soldier caught on faster and quickly got away from the punch.
Don looked at his arm, the sword had acctualy penatrate his skin, but it looked like a minor cut, but it sung like hell. "That was brillant Don." Said a sharped face Marine behind him. The others were still in a state of shock.
Don didn't know what to say, he had fully expected to be dead at this point. He didn't get time to say a word as the swordman returned at full speed for aanother go. This time Don was ready. He reached for his pistol and got ready to stop the blade again. The swordman went full on at Don and then at the last moment sidesteped him and continued on into the Marines behind him.
Don turned and shot to late, the swordman had already cut through all the Marines. Don stared, They thought I had saved them. And now they're all dead not even a minute afterwards... The swordsman was returning, he was completely ignore Don.
Don throw all rational thought aside and tried to intersept the blow. He ran with everything he had, he felt the adrenline rushing through his veins. It almost looked like Don was going to fail and stop the man. Don did.
He went through another group like in a second leaving dead bodies in his wake. Don wanted to scream, this wasn't how it was suppose to be. He was the hero here, not the Imperial Wind Swordsman. He was the villian, he was the fiend, he was suppose to fail.
The man returned for another go throught he Marines. Don put his all into his run, he was going to stop the Swordsman at all costs. Every ounce of Don's strentgh went into carring him across the ground. The swordsman lowered his blade on another group of Marines just as Don caught it with his arm again. The swordsman backed off at full speed before Don could even raise the pistol. "Oh no you don't."
He ran after the swordsman, he was going to end this threat once and for all. Then a mortor exploded right infront of him. The Shower of dirt, sharpnel and heat covered him. He should have been cut to ribbons like a normal man, but he wasn't a normal man any longer. Don's fatugues were much worse for wear and he was on the ground, but he was still in one piece.
The swordsman charged at him with full speed, sword raised to finish Don off. Don surpised him by catching the blade in his hand. Don raised his other hand and the blue aura covered it. The swordsman tried to pull his blade away, but Don held on tight. Don blazed, he wanted nothing more than to kill the man, with the punch he struck the man in the face at first nothing more than his normal strength conected with the swordsman, but a moment later every bit of that power down knew was there went through the swordsmans head. The man was plowed into the ground and never took another breath.
Don stood up, his fatigues were shreaded, he had two cuts in one arm plus his hand had taken a bad hit and every inch of his body ached. But what realy bother Don is what had just happened. For the first time he had killed a man, well that wasn't true, he had shot down dozens of Japanesse soldiers, but this was the first time with his bare hands. It felt wrong. Even for everything the man had just done, Don couldn't shake the feeling that it was wrong.
Don was snapped out of thought by a bullet hitting him square in the cheast. This fight wasn't over yet. Don picked up a fallen Marines rifle and continued on, he still ahd more lives to save.
(Note: I forgot to give the first chapter it's name, it should be called Chapeter One Letter to Mom. -
Dearest mother,
I write this letter to ease your fears for me. Today we finished taking Guadalcanal from the Japanesse forces and I'm fine. I will not lie, many of my devision is dead and things haven't yet settled down. But the fighting seems to have ended.
Captian Volcanoe was leading a group of american heroes. He is still here and seems to be setting up for any invasions of the island by the Imperial Wind. You have probly heard little of this group of villians and monsters the Japanesse have unleashed upon the world. I'm happy to say that we've yet to see them.
But mother, there is something I need to tell you. I know this will be hard for you to understand, but you must know. Durring our landing I felt, well, odd. I had assumed that it was just nerves about fighting. When we landed we were immediately under fire. Please read all of this mother, so you'll understand what happened.
I was shot twice, please continue reading, I know this is hard to understand. The bullets did not penatrate my skin. You see mother, I'm a muntant. I'm sorry for having to shock you like that, but it's true. The doctor with my unit says he has heard abit about this, sometimes a mutantion doesn't show up until even after puberty, this kind of 'passive' as he called it, mutantion is triggered into action by stress. Well my fear of being killed was enough to kick it into action. That odd feeling the doctor told me was my body adjusting to this new mutantion.
I hope you are still with me mother, and I'm sorry to have to tell you this by letter, please try and understand. The mutantion seems to have made me bullet proof. Though that's sort of a stretch as the two bullet wound I recived have left some painful bruises.
I hope you will be able to understand this and hopefully this won't make you feel horrible or concerned. Not all mutants are thugs and killers.
You ever loving son,
Lance Corporal Don Cross
--------
"Don." A voice called. The voice belonged to a marine with a sharp angular face. On is shoulders was the rank of Lance Corporal. Similiar to the one on Don's shoulders.
"hmm, oh, Bill, whats going on." Don said drifting out of his writing and into awareness.
"We just got new orders, were moving out."
"Already?"
"Yeah, they call this Island Hopping for a reason, were going to be doing something like that german Bliz Kieg or something like that. Move fast and fight hard."
"I don't think thats all of it, and I think it's called Blitz Kreig."
"Maybe, but what do we now, were just enlisted, the officers know all the complicated stuff."
"Right, right." Don said as he sealed the letter into an envolop the Marines had provided him.
"What's you writing?"
"A letter to my mother."
Bill paused for a moment and the processed abit akwardly. "You tell her about the Muntant thing?"
"Yes." Don said quitely.
"Are you sure thats the right thing to do?"
"No, but she'll find out sooner or later."
"Right, well, get ready, we're going to be fighting to take another island soon." Bill got up and left. Don sat there for a monment thinking about the battle. He hailed from Boston and had joined the Marines as soon as he was old enough. Which turned out to be the start of the Pacific theater.
His training had never prepared him for becoming a munant. He had heard of them, but had never in his life seen one. Know he was one and had been invited by Captian Volcanoe himself to fight the war with the rest of the super heroes. He had said he would think about it.
Don looked both was and then down at a rock on the ground. Bill was his closest friend, they had trained together and now they were fighting together. But not even infront of him or even through a letter to his mother had he meantioned the other part fo his mutantion. He raised his fist and a arua of blue surrond it. He brought the fist down onto the rock. His own fist was protected by the arua and hit with it's full force. About a second latter all the energy of the arua would follow through the path of the punch and this energy broke the rock.
Don looked at his hand for a while. He couldn't believe it had that kind of power now, that anyone could wield that much power. And what worried him was that there was more, he was sure he could put so much more into a single punch. He shivered. Then he got up and went to hand his letter off and then get his gear in order for the next fight. -
Hermod has managed to just pay enough money in just enough time to keep his apperment in Skyway in the Land of the Lost. He rarely has time to use it except when he's badly hurt as he spends most of his time keeping Ziu alive.
The Warders (a supergroup consisting of Yowie (and austrlian ape man) Ska (a robot reprogramed to play music) Alien Arciveist (an alien who is currently recording the Warders' story) Heat-Storm (a man who can't sweat and serves more or less as the leader of the group) with the exception of Gandarmerie (who is a semi-offical member) live in Heat-Storms appertment back in California. But in Paragon they live where they can till the can find a place will t put up with them. They frequent the Steel Canyon benchs. -

I would have to guess next week if they intend to get it out by August. But it might not take to much testing as they appear to have had atleast the Bow powerset for a long time.

I'm surprised more people aren't flipping out about the Stamina comments. he said he wasn't going to remove it, or make it inherent. He didn't say he wasn't going to nerf it. He did however say he wants players to make a choice about what powers to use and when.

about the desperation abilty. All it seems to do is inspire the blasters do teeter on the edge of death (but that isnt much of a diffrence now, they allready do involuntary(dont flame me, I know how it is to live on the edge with my blaster too)(wow tripple parentheses!))

/em Flames visciously
I acctualy like the idea. I'm ussaly halfway down in a fight, I think it'll make for a good boost. Also, it doesn't take away from the stratigic value of Blasters. While Scrappers realy on luck to do more damage a Blaster just has to lose HP, but a blaster has so little HP that any loss is risky.
I'm very pleased with this, but I have the feeling there will be more. Like scaling range hopefuly. -

These guys exist. They're called "Rularuu" and people avoid them like the plague.

Only those of us who don'teal challange, or are masochistic. Whats not to like about Rularuu? They have a kyrptonite for everyone. Psychic attacks, through the roof Acc and super strong brutes. If you think you can take anything you haven't fought Rularuu. And I would like to mention, that as a Blaster I rarely did against them, little more than I do against any other group. -

Well I hate to burst your bublle, but there is a timed Outcast mission where you have to save artifacts and hostages. And the artifacts are destructible.
I only manage to complete it successfully about half the time I do it because an artifact ends up getting popped.
[/ QUOTE ]
I am so sick of these missions. It might be the "rescue museum pieces from the Council" where the pieces are destroyed within a few seconds of aggroing the Council every single time. It's no fun if you have no chance to actually save them.
[/ QUOTE ]
I saved all but one of those when I did that mssion. Granted I was using Full Auto. But I've never realy noticed the destructables being destoried to quickly except when it was appearantly bugged. Upon entering a mission where Lost were destorying a part of the teleportation grid I failed. They had appearantly decided not to wait for me to aggro them. But that was back in I2. -
