I've always wanted to try a weird maze design I came up with one day. A grid of 1x1 rooms connected by doorways, with each actual room being divided up into multiple (2 or 3) levels. The 'maze' part is that each level doesn't open onto each doorway. The concept is interesting, but I haven't actually gone through to try and make a prototype yet.

Starting over from scratch would be no issue from me. I'd freely give up all the work I've done in order to get a better system. Then again, I have a fairly high turnover rate on my base rooms as it is. I'm constantly tearing down and rebuilding either because I have a better idea or want a change (it's become an ongoing joke in the SG, even)
Really, a new (and improved) system that allows for more powerful construction and customization can only be a good thing in the long run. -
For the most part I regretfully must admit that bases have become largely obsolete. However, that being said, I still feel as the division head of a large SG that it's my duty as base builder to provide a kick-*** base for our SG. To me it's a matter of pride in my SG players that they've provided us with enough prestige to build such an elaborate base . It's my duty and responsibility to give them something that they can call their base that they can be proud of having had a hand in. Yes, it may only be a trophy base at this point, but it's still our base.

I do have to say, I just opened one of these G13's up and so far it's working fine for me. I downloaded the currently updated software (Since I run windows 7 64bit) and it loaded fine, auto-discovered that I have CoH installed, and loaded the profile for that. I swapped some keys around and now I'm off and running. Took about 15 minutes, 10 of which was me customizing the profile.

Quote:Yup, I attempted to make sure none of those were issues. Totally cleared out the 'door' areas of any clutter, and made sure that the base-flow wasn't interrupted. Also, I didn't get any error messages, it just wouldn't move the room. I was, and am, confusedI've had this happen when the walls are "cluttered". If there are to many things against the walls, then the editor will not want to create any new doors (yes, even though there is already a door in existence). If the editor is tricked into thinking it can't create doors, it won't move the room.
Another related thing may be happening. If the editor thinks you are moving the room to a point where the "flow" of the base is "interrupted", it will not move the room. You will get an error saying something to the effect that the room cannot be moved because it does not connect to the entrance. The room doesn't actually have to be connected to the entrance, but there needs to be a clear "path" to the entrance. I think it's another holdover from raid rules.

Is there a limit to the number of objects you can have in a room before it doesn't allow you to move it? I have had rooms around the 800-900 mark refuse to move. Even though they show blue when I try to move them, the editor just pauses, then picks up as if I hadn't tried to do anything, the room being left where it was.
Anyone else seen this? -
I may have missed it already being said, but I believe the most likely scenario would be a full restart, new characters. However, given the loyalty of the player base, I could also see the current CoX accounts carrying over into CoH2 (two games, one price!) like they eventually did for CoH/CoV. That way, new players could get the bonus of starting out with Veteran Rewards on the new game instead of having to start fresh. It would give you a benefit for having been with the game so long, but not something totally game-breaking.
