Question: Does this free time count towards veteran time. I know the free days you get from buying the game don't count. So do these?

Because if it doesn't I would rather just send them a personal email to get them back and pay for my time so I can get my goodies sooner.

    Thanks

Does this free time count toward veteran time? The answer is yes.

To further clarify for the person you're responding to here, Ex, yes, the free month that you get from purchasing the game does indeed count towards Veteran Reward time. Not sure where he'd get the idea that it doesn't.

Have you been in Atlas lately? Its alrwady going on. One recruitment Broadcast and Request after another.

    [/ QUOTE ]

For one, that always happens. Plus, do you really spend all that much time standing around in Atlas just reading what everyone else says? Most people by now have realized that Atlas is a go in, get it done, and keep going zone. A lot of people don't even go to Atlas at all, just start out in Galaxy and avoid it all together.

[/ QUOTE ] Atlas Park is the zone that has the SG Register desk.

    Galaxy City has one too...

If the grant is 20,000 prestige per toon, this is a pretty dumb reward. Not because the prestige isn't welcome, but because it's essentially a flat 3,000,000-per-SG gift wrapped inside a catalog of pointless busy work (creating lots of extra toons to stuff the SG roster).

    [/ QUOTE ]

Actually, you're answering your own question in a way (by mentioning that if it's 20k per toon then it would work out to 3 million prestige). In LH's original announcement, he actually states that SGs will get up to 3 million prestige:

    [ QUOTE ]
Supergroups will receive an additional 20,000 Prestige per Supergroup member on Dec. 10th! This means SGs could acquire up to 3 million Prestige based upon their Supergroup membership roster!

    [/ QUOTE ]

The *only* way for it to be a 3 million prestige gift is if it were counted by character, not by "member" in the way you're defining it.

EDIT: Er, just thought that using your definition of "member" you could still get 3 million prestige by having 150 unique members with only one character each, but I think that's stretching things quite a bit (how many SGs could possibly be like that?). Bottom line is, LH said it was based on membership roster, which is a list of characters in the SG, not a list of global handles/accounts. Also, as I stated previously, the previous prestige grant was per character, not account, which at the time amounted to a maximum 1.5 million gift. There's absolutely no reason to assume that this time will be any different than before.

Lighthouse wrote: The 20,000 is applied for each member in the supergroup, regardless of their activity or status. If they show on the roster, they will be included in the 20,000 per member grant on the 10th.

    [/ QUOTE ]
Thanks for being so responsive on this, Lighthouse.

Just to be clear, does the 20,000 bonus apply to each member (i.e. game account, global handle) on the roster or to each character on the roster?

In other words, is it truly of benefit for everyone to run out and pack their SGs with shill characters belonging to the same account? A supergroup with 13 members can receive the full 3 million bonus as long as all their slots are enrolled in the same SG?

    [/ QUOTE ]

He said "member" of SG, implying individual characters, and the previous prestige gift was tied to individual character, not account. Also, the initial 20,000 prestige for SG members (up to 15) is for the character, not the account.

I'm not sure they could code it to be tied to the accounts that the characters are on; they've always mentioned having problems with that in terms of increasing the size of the SG membership (i.e., some people have suggested raising the cap by making it limited to 75 accounts instead of characters, and they mentioned having difficulties doing that -- and even now that they've raised the cap, it's not account based).

    It's lvls 25-25

    [/ QUOTE ]

See, they make it such a narrow level range cause the Devs are lazy and hate creating content!

(I made the exact same typo when I made my post )

Ok I'm 3/4 of the way to a new costume what lvl zone is croatoa? And how do I get to it without a base?

    [/ QUOTE ]

It's a 25-35 level zone, but the costume slot contact is just off the train, so there's very little danger there. You can get to Croatoa from the Green Line.

LH said 10 central and it is only 9:45

    [/ QUOTE ]

Yep. People are equating "servers up" with "end of daily maintenance period." They're not the same thing.
  8. [ QUOTE ]
    What gives...

Looks like we are in store for another "window"
    of downness.

    [/ QUOTE ]

They won't have to take the servers down to activate the event. This is just like it was last year. They'll just turn the event on around 11am EST...
  9. The way it worked last year (for both the Halloween event and Winter event) is that it didn't start up *immediately* after servers came back up, but around 11am EST, which is the end of the normal maintenance period.

LH said it would start at around the end of the normal maintenance period, not when servers actually came back up. They probably have a set time to activate the event so it's the same across all servers, since sometimes some servers take longer than others to come back up.

Great article! It really cleared some stuff up (although I heard somewhere that they actually WOULD be adding Coralax as an epic... dont remember where...)

    [/ QUOTE ]

Coralax is one of several possible epic ATs that were mentioned at one point. Among the others were Blood of the Blackstream (which got mentioned on at least one of the cards in the CoH collectible card game), Avilans, and Incarnates.

Avilans, I think, have pretty much been scrapped completely. Incarnates are what Statesman and Lord Recluse are.

Personally, I doubt we'll see any epic ATs after villain Khelds. Hopefully I'm wrong. At one point in time I never thought I'd see Flashback or weapon customization either...
  11. [ QUOTE ]
hey are you gunna be able to change the appearence of your bow, cause it doesnt say soo?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Yes, and yes it does say so.
  12. [ QUOTE ]
I wonder if all these goodies will finally make people in the suggestion forum stop declaring things undoable. Lots of these stuff they've announced were so declared.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Not really. Flashback was once said by Statesman to be something he didn't particularly care for, but I don't think anyone ever said it was undoable. And as far as weapon customization goes... it's *not* the same as power customization. Being able to customize weapons is completely different from being able to customize power FX and does *not* "open the door" (as one previous poster said) to the road to full power customization.

Power customization is still impossible with the current tech that the Devs have, according to BaB, and the fact that they've made weapons customizable doesn't mean they're any closer at all to true power customization.

Issue 11 is looking to be absolutely fantastic, but I really don't see anything that has been said to be "undoable."

Thanks Hellguard, great mini-guide. It really cleared some stuff up (although I heard somewhere that they actually WOULD be adding Coralax as an epic... dont remember where...)

    [/ QUOTE ]

Coralax was a possible future epic AT at one point in time; also on that list was Blood of the Black Stream, Avilans, and Incarnates. Avilans have been pretty much scrapped I think (they just went ahead and made sure everyone could have wings, which was going to be a major feature of that one). Incarnates are what Statesman and Lord Recluse are.

I was wondering when will the villians get thier epic At's? I see that is no in issue 11 so was wondering...

Hopefully sometime next year, but it's not set in stone. For all the official info we've been given on villain epic ATs, check out the mini-guide linked in my sig.

Yes. It's called veteran rewards. The way I understood it, they will no longer be giving costume tokens every time new options are added like they used to.

    [/ QUOTE ]

In the Issue 11 FAQ , Lighthouse states we will be getting both a free respec and a free costume token with issue 11.

    [/ QUOTE ]

whenever a new ish creates a massive change in things or adds many new things they tend to give out freespec and costume tokens.

Right, but I was responding to someone who had said there wouldn't be a free costume token in issue 11, which was a response to someone asking if there would be.

hmmmm i supposed one COULD flashback to an early level mayhem, then after the mayhem unlock the contact.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Posi said in the FAQ that Safeguards won't be initially "Flashbackable," but may be in the future. I can't imagine that you can Flashback to Mayhems if you can't do the same with Safeguards.

.....including hopefully timewarping back to outbreak to farm out Isolator and Breakout to gain Jailbird. Strictly speaking one could consider the tutorials as badge missions.....

    [/ QUOTE ]

Well, no, they're not, and Posi even says so in the above-linked FAQ (you don't get the "tutorial badges" for completing any missions and you can get the badges without completing any missions at all, so they're clearly *not* mission badges). However, he did cryptically mention the Paragon Times articles about Outbreak/Breakout. I'd imagine that, while we can't technically Flashback to the real tutorials, the Outbreak and Breakout events might be 2 of the "historical events" we have to travel back in time to fix/alter.

    Nice article.

I know it's too late at this stage if they aren't in, but I'd love to see the Blood of the Black Stream brought into I11. They'd be very unhappy that someone is screwing with the Giant Circuit.

Also, there have already been hints that most zones are going to see at least minor changes as a result of I11.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Yes. It would be nice if the villain EAT was something other than a rehashed third flavor of the space squids. I doubt there will be wholesale changes to many zones, it would break a lot of story arcs, badge hunts, and the like. I think we will find that temporary protection from temporal disturbances will have been set up and maybe a co-op task force brought in for players to help Recluse and Manticore get the correct timeline reset. Things will likely be back to normal with I12. Just my take on the whole thing.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Well, we kind of know what's going on there. Posi has said that Villains will get Khelds, and that they're trying for it sometime early next year. (which basically rules it out for I11.) He also said that they won't just be carbon copies of the hero versions, so, hopefully, they'll be different enough to keep them interesting.

As far as further EAT's go, I don't think we can look for those until the villain khelds come out.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Technically he never specified kheldians.
All did was say that the villain epic ATs were in the works and would be released early on next year.
Personally I *SERIOUSLY* hope the khelds arent turned evil.
I would much rather have something comepltely new for us all to tinker around with.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Well, when he stated "sometime early next year" for villain EATs, he didn't explicitely connect that to Kheldians, but from everything we've seen, villain Kheldians *are* going to be the next EAT. Plans can change, of course, but there's been no indication that they have. (See link in sig for links to as much official info about villain Khelds that we have to date.)

Everything through Issue 12 is going to lead to something big for the next paid expansion.

Do you have a source for this "next paid expansion" ? They did have one planned for this year, but it was of course scrapped. I hadn't heard or seen anything on any others...

If the Rikti war had not happened in the timeline depicted, it would have been explicitly mentioned, not implied.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Things that didn't happen in a given reality don't tend to get mentioned in newspapers.

    [/ QUOTE ]

True. But not mentioning an event doesn't mean it didn't happen either. There's nothing in the article to even suggest the Rikti invasion didn't happen, and the presence of the war walls in the pictures accompanying the article would strongly imply that it *did* happen.
  21. The war walls are clearly visible in at least 2 of the 3 pictures showing Contaminated (and probably even all 3, but it's a little hard to tell in the biggest picture at the top of the first page). War walls come directly from Rikti technology in "our" reality. To say that they're there in the "altered" reality by some other means is just needlessly stretching things.

There's no reason to think that the Rikti invasion didn't happen in the altered reality. You can't absolutely say it did until we know more, of course, but there's nothing in this strange little newspaper piece that would imply it didn't (and in fact, the appearance of the war walls in the pictures can only logically mean that it *did*).

Didn't the article mention that the virus/drug was stolen from the Crey? Did this happen in our version of events too?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Yes, it did. Outbreak was stolen from Crey Industries, but was rumored to be "Rikti mutagens."

We should also keep in mind that it's been stated that issue 10 was the beginning of a multiple-issue storyline, so there are undoubtedly seeds planted in issue 10 that will shed light on issue 11 (like the Nemesis/Rikti connection, maybe?)...

    [/ QUOTE ]

So there is some wiggle room! It could be a Riktim utagen in one timeline, a purely Crey invention in another (that is, if we assume the Rikti aren't a big problem in this alternate reality/timeline).

    [/ QUOTE ]

I don't get why some people are saying the Rikti invasion didn't happen in this other reality. Outbreak *was* stolen by Crey in "our" reality, just like it was in the one that the Paragon Times is reporting about. That doesn't stop it from being Rikti mutagens like it was in "our" reality.

The fact that the articles don't mention the Rikti invasion isn't surprising in the least. Real-world newspaper articles dealing with major events don't take the time to list every other major event that occurred in the years leading up to them...

Note that, while that is a great guide to epic ATs that have been mentioned in the past, the info we have on villain Kheldians is a bit more up-to-date and detailed than any of the others. And in the Boomtown interview with Posi, it's pretty clear that villain Kheldians will appear before any "new" epic AT. Personally, as long as it's taking to put villain Khelds in the game, I doubt we'll ever see *any* epic ATs after villain Kheldians. I hope I'm wrong.
