  1. I'm pretty sure double XP *won't* apply to AE arcs. Patrol XP (which is 1.5x XP) already doesn't. I'm sure it'll be the same with double XP, and for the same reasons.

Sorry, I'm not saying I did. Just wondering if I could still get the lower level salvage with a high level character.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Ah. Nope, you don't get drops from enemies who con grey, even if you still get XP from them.

Ouroborous (and low level TFs) will let you exemplar to lower levels to get the lower level salvage, though.

Sorry if this was already asked. I haven't read the entire thread yet.

Just curious because I didn't notice it in the notes, but was there a reason why free Tailor sessions were granted with this issue? None of my characters received any, and I was kinda wondering if we weren't supposed to expect them.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I would imagine that the biggest reason would be the revamp to the dominator archtype. Changing around domination could require people to rethink their builds. Thats the only really big change to any AT i can think of but im sure they are just geting in the habit of granting one with every issue it seems like.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Changes to Dominators required free tailor sessions?!

    and Hey emerald!
I believe you and hellguard are the only guys I havent seemed to talk to ingame yet. :/

    [/ QUOTE ]

i have not been in game since you came back...

    [/ QUOTE ]

I haven't been in game for more than a minute or two for the past three weeks.

    Oh, and Dammit, Be'el! WB!

There is the possibility that the servers are down for so long because they're slamming in the booster along with i15... slim possibility, but one none-the-less.

    [/ QUOTE ]

There's nothing to "slam in." The booster stuff is already in the game files. All they have to do is put it up for sale at the NCSoft store and make sure the purchase enables your account to access it. They've already done what they need to do to the game for it to be there.

    <QR>

"Account <name> is not allowed on this server. reason: Access to this server is currently restricted for internal testing by NCsoft employees to verify today's new publish. Your access to this server once our checks and tests are complete. Thank you for your patience"

    ....just sayin

    [/ QUOTE ]

Yep. That means the servers are up, but you're just locked out. (If they were actually down, no one would be on them, not even NCSoft employees.)

Will there be a free costume change with this release?

I made a character this weekend I would have liked to have use one of the new faces with him.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Here's hoping for a free respec. Doms got quite a overhaul and people might want to respec in/out some powers.

    [/ QUOTE ]

There will definitely be a free respec with this issue. That's why they made the announcement on Friday to use any previous free respecs you may have had.

Whether the freespec is given today or at some point within the next week or so remains to be seen.
  9. [ QUOTE ]
Erm, where's the Science super booster?

    [/ QUOTE ]

It's not technically part of Issue 15. They *did* say it should be available for purchase when Issue 15 was released, but it's not part of the issue itself.
  10. [ QUOTE ]
I'm just 'bout 100% sure this is I15 coming out today, went into the login screen and I'm looking at Dom's Psy Assault, PSW is now changed to its 15ft radius... As well as NRG assault's changes seem to be in now.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I would think the fact that the Live version number matches the Test version number, AND that Niviene has posted announcements saying "Issue 15 Releases" and the Live Issue 15 patch notes would be enough to confirm Issue 15 going live today...

Its up on my end. i have already dl'd patch and in create screen. even created a new ulterior look. just can't enter.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    That's why they have this:

    http://www.cityofheroes.com/news/ser...er_status.html

    UNKNOWN does not equal UP!

    [/ QUOTE ]

But the servers appear to be up when you log into the game (i.e., they show one green dot instead of being greyed out like they are when they're truly down).

Unknown status on the server status page actually means the servers are up, but there is a minimum number of players needed to trigger an actual "Up" status. That's why you'll see the Test Server showing as "Unknown" so often in between new issue testing -- the Test Server will be Up but it won't register as Up on the server status page because there aren't enough people on it.

Right now, the servers are showing as "Unknown" because the only people on them are Paragon Studios employees. The servers *are* up -- if they weren't, the PS employees couldn't be on them. They've just got us locked out at the moment.

    [/ QUOTE ]

My point is just because a *live* server says unknown, doesn't mean that you can't always login, but you can't always play; whereas up means go.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Yeah, but you can't just wait for the server status page to show "Up." If everyone did that, no server would ever show as "Up."

So wait, they're actually releasing a new issue on a Monday?!

    [/ QUOTE ]

Yep, first Monday new issue release ever. Unless you count City of Villains, which had its retail release on a Monday. But the issue associated with it came out the previous Thursday.
  14. [ QUOTE ]
a.k.a. The servers are not up?

    [/ QUOTE ]

The servers *are* up... when the server status page says "Unknown" it just means there aren't enough people on the server to trigger an "Up" status. Right now, the servers are up and there are Paragon Studios employees on them making sure nothing got blown up with Issue 15. Players just aren't allowed on until they're done with that, but technically the servers *are* "Up."
  15. [ QUOTE ]
ya know what I do when the servers are unexpectedly down?

    something else.

then I check back a while later, and things are usually back to normal.

    Crazy, I know.
    But it seems to work.

    [/ QUOTE ]

You. Out of here. This is no place for rational thinking!
  16. [ QUOTE ]
Also... correct me if I am wrong but, to the best of my memory, new issue patches have never been announced beforehand

    [/ QUOTE ]

Most of the last several have been. At least a day or two ahead of time.
  17. [ QUOTE ]
"Very very soon" could very very well be today.

    [/ QUOTE ]

At this point, there's no doubt about it. Live updater's version number matches the Test version. Issue 15 is today.
  18. [ QUOTE ]
I may have overlooked this/not paid attention to, however, was the paragon studios logo situated in the lower left corner with the cryptic and ncsoft logo's prior to todays patch???

    [/ QUOTE ]

No, that's new with Issue 15.

    [ QUOTE ]
The only reason this is exciting news, is because it means we can move on to issue 16 and Going Rogue now. Yay!

    [/ QUOTE ]

Just from the way you worded that it sounds like you think I16 is rouge, which its not, from the looks of things i16 is power customization

But I'm sure you knew that

Edit: Just checked the patch I'm downloading, and its dated *May* 27, not *June* 27

    [/ QUOTE ]

That sounds like the pre-download patch, in which case you didn't download anything yet this morning. What it's doing is applying the pre-download patch. After it's done, you'll download another patch which will contain all the changes made to Issue 15 since the pre-download, and your Live version number will match the one on Test.
  20. [ QUOTE ]
    2) IIRC, since i10, there have been at least some issues that were downloaded and installed on one day, but didn't actually go live until the following day.

    [/ QUOTE ]

No, that's never happened. Pre-downloads, yes, but when patches go through the APPLYING process after downloading/verifying, then the game IS updated to that patch. If the version number on the updater is changed, then the patch in question IS live.

Which is what's happened this morning. Issue 15 is today.
  21. [ QUOTE ]
If it was suppose to be a test update that got pushed live by mistake do you think they will roll back (more down time and play data lost) or just go "Patch it where needed and get 16 on the test asap".

    [/ QUOTE ]

They'd do a roll back. But I doubt this was a mistake.

The version number is now the same between live and test.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Did you launch both updaters (Live and Test) and checked the version numbers from there?

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Yes.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Thanks. Like someone already posted, though, there was a tiny Test patch over the weekend, after which the version number did not change. Not sure what was in that patch, but at least they DID push it to the Test Server before pushing it Live, even if only for a day or two.

ABout the only "notice" I've seen is this that Nivieve put up on Firday afternoon. Even in that thread, most of the speculation was that it wasn't that close.

I'm trying to do a Main-to-Test comparison right now. Thing is, I don't recall a update to the test happening over the weekend... 'Cause it's updating as well.

    Oh this'll be fun...

    THank you for the time...

    [/ QUOTE ]

There was a small 4.5M patch to Test on Saturday, myself and a few of the regular crew over on Test all remarked about it.

No patch notes came from it, and the version number didn't change.

But at least we know someone was there this weekend working on getting this ready for... well, today, it would seem.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Yeah, I was just getting ready to post that when my Test Server updater got done, the version number was the same as it was before (from the patch last week).

Maybe they backed out the Super Booster 3 stuff or something?
