  1. ((OOC: HEEE. Good guy going nuts fun!))

The blind man ignored the alarms as he thought out loud to himself. "Where best to begin... I suppose the origin of the weapon would be best. There has been a war raging among my race, which you humans would call 'demons,' between various clans. The weapon was created a clan that has since been irradicated but the others due to their tendancy to consume the souls of other 'demons.' It is their willingness to consume the sous of their own race that allowed them to create a living weapon, who was once one of the most powerful members of their clan, that would be completely obedient to whoever became it's master. The mindless weapon was eventually captured and sealed in a pocket dimension, my eye being both the seal and the door.

"In order to keep the weapon away as well as because I'd chosen to throw in my lot with the human race, I was banished from my clan as well as from the entire 'demon' race."

((OOC: Edit: The additional stuff starts here.))

He let this information sink in before he continued. "Ordinarily I wouldn't be concerned about a human trying to summon the weapon due to the fact that no human would be stong enough on their own to be able to hold me off and gain control of the weapon. However, if one of my race were to attempt this, then that is something even I must admit that I will need assistance with."

From the look on the three men's faces he could guess what they were thinking. "Just so that you know, neither Medb nor her father, 'King Crimson' are demons, though they would give be a considerable challenge if I were to have to fight them. No, someone else is pulling the strings of those two puppeteers. If what I fear is really the case, then the man behind the scenes is a 'demon' who commited such heinous acts against his own kind that his horns were taken from him when he was banished. Should his plan succeed, he will have gained new horns and will be even stronger than when he was cast out."

((OOC: I'll leave off here to let Disco, Will, and Trevor react.))
  2. ((OOC: I'm going to have to go with G4H on this. I don't mean this to sound like an attack on you personally, but Breakdance Kid sounds like a Mary Sue, which is something not appropriate for RP. A rule of thumb, for your hero and average villain, use only power combinations that can be done in game. If your character qualifies as an AV you can take more liberty with their powers, but keep in mind that they will still have to either loose or retreat. (This rule should only remain true until after details on powersets and archetypes for CoV is revealed.) On a related note, it doesn't matter what the full extent of Blind Guardian's powers are since he won't be in combat in any thread beyond what deals with his back story.

I appologize for the lecture. And I don't mean this personally. I don't want anyone to leave the thread unless they feel they must. That being said, if you don't tone down BDK, then I'm going to have to request that he not be allowed to stay in the RP. Also remember, this is a VILLAIN thread, as such, the main focus should ultimately be on the villains and any hero (or NPC for that matter) that shows up should be used mainly for the purpose of progressing the plot. or developing a certain character (Ghost and Haywire both serve(or served, as the case may be) this purpose well.).))
  3. [ QUOTE ]
"Alright Blind Gaurdian what do you want our help for?" Trevor ask in a very buisness like tone. Inside he could feel his body working over time. I hate this place

    [/ QUOTE ]

"While I've been cryptic up to this point, there is much you need to learn, but not enough time for you to learn about it on your own. As I told Trevor before, you each have potential. You can each be better than you are now. Everyone has potential, though not always of the same type. What's more, each person's potential has two directions is can expand in, but it can't go both ways at the same time. At some point a person with great potential reaches a tipping point where they must make a hard choice to go one way or the other and never look back. The potentials I seek are those who can tip the balance of the survival of the human race. You three are among those who stand upon this pivot. You also have among the hardest choices of those who stand at this crossroads. But before you decide there is history that must be related..."

    (to be continued...)

((OOC: I think Genius4Hire needs to be getting ready to deal with Ghost...))
  4. ((OOC: Blind Guardian should appear to have normal human vitals for the most part since he's not using any of his abilities yet. Also, at this point, Jack should have the normal vitals of a cybernetic human.))

"Ah, speak of the devils." Blind Guardian chuckled at some private joke.

    [ QUOTE ]
I think Jack did something to Kathy. I mixed up her vitals with this guy's, because I didn't check. Actually, her vitals aren't even there. The only way to do that would be to leave the Tower, phase shift or... die. Also, this new guy has unique vitals, much like Mr. Book, but it looks different as well, so we might want to watch out. Try to warn Trevor of Kathy's disappearance as soon as the guy with the blindfold is far enough away from him. He seems to be one of Medb's "friends," like Jack. But, don't tell him or anyone about my, monitors, it tends to unnerve people," said Disco Inferno, certain that if the blindfold guy heard, they all would meet the same fate as Kathy. DUN DUN DUNNNNN! (just had to do that)

    [/ QUOTE ]

((OOC: NOW there will be a change in his vitals.))

The mystery man seemed to melt into the shadows near Trevor, vital signs noticibly changing, and reappeared from Disco's shadow.

"It doesn't matter if you whisper, I can still hear you." Blind Guardian smiled. "And just so you know, my only interest in Medb is in removing my crystalized eye from her possession."
  5. The dark figure sighed. "I keep forgeting that you humans lack the patients that near immortality gives. All will be revealed when the time is right, which will be in few minutes for you." The 'guardian" started chuckling. "It just struck me about how ammusing it is that you appropriately equated King Crimson to the card also known as the suicide king. Heh heh, quite clever, even if you didn't know that it was fitting."
  6. [ QUOTE ]
"I take it we're not going to wait for the other two to show up are we."

    [/ QUOTE ]

"Actually, Trevor, I was hoping that the four of us would be able to discuss the nature of the weapon that Medb plans to release. Of course, if you aren't interested in talking with Will about this..."

((OOC: I'm sure Blind Guardian is frustrating the hell out of Trevor at the moment. Oh, and the "Sore wa himitsu desu." bit is from an anime (Specifically starting in the second season of this particular show).))
  7. ((OOC: Since I'm an anime otaku (though not in the strictest translation of the word), I've pulled inspiration from character traits and concepts from anime's that I really enjoy. So let's play a little game, as the references appear you get to ID where I put the reference and from what anime I pulled it from and I will give points based on the difficulty of each. I'd do it with music references as well, however, Mazement/Peppermint knows some of those already.))

    [ QUOTE ]
"Kheldians? You mean the Peacebrings and Warshades?" Trevor felt nervous How is he conected to energy-beings. Could he be... He played it cool, probly pointless, but he need something though. "Two more people of potential?" Trevor thought out loud. He was starting to get a bad feeling about the word potiental. "What exactly does potential mean?" Trevor assumed the answer. As if today hadn't been eventful enough with cyborgs, robots, half clockworks, people trapped in the past, insane women and old jerks, now it had this.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Blind Guardian smiled and wagged his finger in a mock scolding way. "Sore wa himitsu desu."
  8. ((OOC: OK, this is probably going to be a long post so stick with me...))

Medb was to preoccupied to hear Kirke's question. Why did she know that someone other than her father would know about this plan attempt to stop her. Further more, why could she not recall the identity of this person. She opened a drawer in the desk and pulled out a spherical gem stone that looked like a Cat's Eye save for it's ruby coloring, and it was doing something she'd never seen it do before. It was glowing. The chief plotter's eyes went wide. "The Demon's Eye stones actually belonged to demons," she muttered to herself. "And the one who this belongs to must be in the Tower right now!"

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------

"I assume your question about how I know your name is more a question about how I have been able to observe you." The blind man smiled warmly at Trevor. "Let's just say that only the peace bringing Kheldians have any hope of hiding themselves from me. And occasionally those that wrap themselves in fire." He chuckled as Trevor pondered his statment. "I do believe two more people with a similar potential to you are on their way to invite us for a bite to eat."

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------

Jack had heard the entire conversation between Vance and Disco Inferno as he meditated in front of the entrance to the Reverse Tower. He did not move when the manipulator fround and approached him. "Anything I disire that I could gain from slaying you I can get through far less messy means and you would still possess at it's current capacity, Lord Vance. Furthermore, the thing I desire most sits atop the head of the weapon that we will be releasing from it's 'prison.'"

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------

As Kathy made her way through the Reverse Tower the monsters seemed to become more and more amorphous as well as more contected do the darkness that she had started to grow accustomed to. As she wandered she found herself before the spectral girl she'd seen before, however, this time she seemed to be ten years old and wearing only tatters. She was huddled in a corner rocking herself back and forth all the while muttering indistinctly to herself.
  9. ((OOC: Due to the way I have to commute to campus I have to wait until at least Friday for the exposition bits which is all I'm coming up with right now. Sorry for the delay.))
  10. ((OOC: I don't know if Trevor would know Japanese but if he does then "Sore wa himitsu desu" means "That is a secret."))

    [ QUOTE ]
"Not human, then what are you? And if your not psychic how did you know my name?" Trevor always felt alittle unconfortable around non-humans even though he wasn't completely human himself. He had a feeling that by the time he left the Tower he be use to them. If I leave. He was abit curious by what the man had ment about potentional, the cautious kind of curious his years working for his former employers had instilled in him. As a precaustion he stopped releasing the energy he had built up before Disco's fight with Haywire. He had released about half and given the size of the library you would have to have very acute senses to notice. He wonder if the man could sense it. He also wanted to know what he was the gaurdian of, but that could wait a minute.

    [/ QUOTE ]

"To answer your first question, well, sore wa himitsu desu." The "guardian" chuckled at his own private joke. "As to the second, I'm suprised you did not ask about what the potential I saw in you was, since, as I said, I have vast experience observing people with potential. However, I'm not too taken aback by it, most people don't realise that I'm indicating their own potential."
  11. [ QUOTE ]
"I take it that this person who can ruin everything ISN'T your father," Kirke said flatly. "Just what should we be expecting here?"

    [/ QUOTE ]

Medb sighed, "That is only partially correct... The soul that resides in the body of my father is not his own but rather that of a once great king from whom I am decended who's soul has been passed through each of his heirs in a bid for some symbolance of immortality. However, he now believes that his own end is near and will do whatever it takes to make his death be on his own terms."

The woman rubbed her hand back and forth on her forehead as if trying to think of something. "I don't know why, but I feel like I'm forgetting about another potential road block..."

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------

    [ QUOTE ]
"Uh yeah that was my first thought." Trevor was trying to figure out how he was reading the book without being able to see. Then Trevor realised what he had just. Trevor had assumed that the man was just quessing, but he know his name. there were 2 explanations, 1 he worked for Medb, 2 he could read minds. Trevor decided to go for the least far fecthed one. "Are you a psychic?" Trevor had never met a psychic before, though he had read about them. That explained the book though, some 'mind's eye' thing. I wonder, will I have to bother talking or will the entire conversation happen in my head?

    [/ QUOTE ]

"I do not have the power to read minds. I am just extremely old and have a vast experience of observing people with potential, which you have." The dark figure closed the book he was "reading" and put it back on the shelf where he got it from, almost as if he could really see. "And in case you are wondering, there are other ways one can see the world without using their eyes, especially for those of us who aren't human. As for who I am, I suppose the 'Blind Guardian' is a name that works as well as any other..."

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------

    [ QUOTE ]
Kathy stuck her tongue out at the little girl.
"I can do what I want and I'm not afraid of you!" Kathy giggled. She started dancing around the little girl giving her small pats on the head.

    [/ QUOTE ]

When Kathy tried to pat the girl on the head, she found that her hand passed right through her. Before she could react to this occurance the child's form shifted ever so slightly to so that she now looked like her body had suffered some decay and some parts looked like they had become worm food already. "You shouldn't have done that. Now I'm going to tell on you and you're going to be in big trouble when she gets here." The freakish child took a swipe at Kathy, ripping her clothes, and disappeared. Kathy was once again all alone in the darkness and again couldn't see.
  12. ((OOC: If Kathy is getting bored, then let's play with her mind a little... Time to scare the living daylights out of her.))

"You shouldn't be here," came a small voice from behind her. Until now, Kathy had been comfortable being unable to see in the absolute darkness of the Reverse Tower. However, when she turned to face the voice she found that she could actually see the speaker, a little girl, no older than six, that seemed to glow and shimmer. "You'll be in trouble if she finds you here, so you should leave now." The expression on the girl's face went from innocent to a vicious grin. "If you don't then I'll have to tell on you and she will come and punish you."

((OOC: Taking bets what the nature of the Reverse Tower is and who you think "she" and the little girl are.))
  13. ((OOC: Intoducing the "Blind Guardian." And he doesn't really qualify as a villain by any stretch.))

A blindfolded man dressed in all black looked like he was reading a book, though how he was capable of doing so Trevor couldn't tell.

"I believe the words you are looking for," the apparently blind figure said not turning away from his book, "are 'Who or what are you?', Trevor."
  14. ((OOC: Quick correction dealing with Haywire's entrance: He did not create a rift, rather, he forcibly put himself into the automated memory of the gate system meaning he's free to come and go as he pleases. However, if he comes in contact with other heroes who are interested in entering tower, he can probably help them come and go as they please by just bombarding Tower iwth a given hero like he did with himself.

Now to deal with the rather neglected group of Medb, Book, and Kirke.))

While the fight was going on at the entrance, Medb collected her thoughts and prayed for no more interuptions.

"Now I believe I was explaining my reason for choosing the two of you to act as lookouts, for lack of a better term. Mr. Book I've already mentioned briefly but I won't be more specific unless he wishes to reveal more about himself. You on the other hand, Mr. Kirke, are the kind of person who is the ideal for your possition. You are cautious and therefore won't foolishly run off to stop an interloper on your own, at least not without calling and confiming backup, which could give us a chance to abort if necissary."
  15. [ QUOTE ]
Disco Inferno was glad to hear he wouldn't be facing his psychopathic nemesis alone. He turned to Trevor and responded to his question, "The reason Haywire wants me out is because I know his weakness. Haywire's had it in for the Clockwork King since his career started, probably because the King wanted those parts back and kept sending robots to do so. So, ten years ago, the Cockwork King found out about Haywire's psychiatric condition. Then, he developed a device that would do two things: make Haywire's clockwork side sane and obediant again, and then fix whatever prevented a mind merge in the first place. Doing so would put the robot side in full control of the body which, considering his skills, would put all the other clockwork out of a job. But, he needed something to use the device that wouldn't be destroyed in two seconds, so he hired me. He chose me in response to comedians saying he had no sense of humor. He was giving Haywire an enemy, 'as odd and bizarre as he himself,' he told me. He gave me various cybernetic enhancements that matched my style of fighting, and than he installed his special device. I ambushed Haywire that afternoon with my new powers, but he sliced me up good. He diconnected the device from the control center, and has been able to keep me away from the King, he's the only one who knew how to fix it. Recently, I was scanning my databanks, and found the device's schematics. My fatal mistake was taunting Haywire about it the other day. In fact, I haven't been completely honest with you. Jack, I swiped the info for this thing off of the burnt corpse of a villain named Netherwolf. He mentioned you, but wouldn't give up the info, so I killed him for it. Now I'm here, but it seems not even that could keep Haywire away from me. Fortunately, I don't think he knows about any of you. He'll be inside in a moment, so be ready."

    [/ QUOTE ]

"Normally I would say not to worry about him breaking in, seeing as how only those with a predetermined essence in the buffer can enter," stating Jack in Diamonds, as he narrowed his glowing eyes. "However, I am not sure that rapid, repeated attempts to enter would cause the buffers to be tricked into 'thinking' that his essence was on the list..."

((OOC: Ergo, this is how Medb knows that Nomegeh and Hegemon are the same entity.))

    [ QUOTE ]
Kathy made her way back into the room.
    "Fight, eh?" Kathy said gleefully.
"Well time to bust some nuts!" She giggled as she cracked her knuckles. She let the darkness consume her, she was just a shadow with darkness seeping to the floor and all around her, making anyone within her range weak.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Jack glared at the girl. "No, little one. You are coming with me." And with that he grabbed Kathy by the shoulder and lead her down a corridor, away from the meeting room. After a while they came to what seemed to be an elivator door. Upon the portal was stenciled lettering reading "TO THE REVERSE TOWER."

"You will remain beyond this door until Medb comes for you. Pray that you can servive till she arrives."

The door opened showing nothing but an endless darkness that seemed to consume the light all the way to the opening at which they stood. The cyborg assassin uncerimoniously pushed the young woman into the passage, closing the door behind her.

((OOC: OK, Master_Mind, time for some fun for Kathy. Sending you a PM on this.))
  16. ((OOC: I'm going to have to change the location of the fight, but it provides a good excuse to explain a feature of the Tower.))

Everyone in Tower felt the complex shudder as if hit by a heavy attack. In the meeting room, Medb was about to go into a further explanation when the disruption occured. "Mistress," came the same voice from before, "someone seems to be trying to force their way into Tower."

This meeting was not going the way she had hoped, this being the third desturbance. "Who are they?"

"They appear to be some people who our files say are hunting Disco Inferno."

"Then this is his problem, but let anyone who is itching for a fight to go with him, it might be good to see how this group works as a single unit. And keep me posted."
  17. [ QUOTE ]
Trevor jumped and Will so far gone n his own thoughts that he didn't move an inch though an intentive observer would note he was paying more attention now.
"Tyrant? Who the he... The Clockwork King controls a dimension!?!" Trevor stared at JiD. He gathered himself "Sorry for the rude welcome Jack, but whose Tyrant. And for that matter how did The Clockwork King come to rule a world, I mean he always sounded like he had delusions of grandur, but..." Trevor just trailed off. There was no reason to assume that the The Clockwork king couldn't do it, it was just. He realy didn't know why.

    [/ QUOTE ]

"Jack" didn't appear to move at all as he spoke. "There are at least two alternate forms of the man known as the Statesman that are from other dimensions. One of these has taken over his version of Earth and declared himself supreme ruler. This one calls himself 'Tyrant.' There is also a dimension that has an alternate version of the Clockwork King, where he has achieved a complete understanding of his powers thus allowing him to over run the entire world with his psuedo-robotic minions." The cyborg then turned his head towards the young woman of whom Trevor inquired. "As to the girl, not even she knows the real reason why she has been brought here. The only thing I may say in reguarding this is that she must follow me to her 'quarters' without delay and remain there until further notice."
  18. ((OOC: Writter's block on the Medb part. Also, will be posting a little less frequently now that the spring semester has started.))

    [ QUOTE ]
"A world without heroes? Seems like that would take all the fun outta being a supervillain. Any hack with a gun a rob a bank when there's nobody but cops to deliver swift retribution. It takes REAL skills to rob a bank with Statesman after you. I know from experience," said Disco Inferno, remembering his very narrow escape from the leader of the Freedom Phalanx. It was his biggest success, not because of the robbery, but because he escaped the clutches of the most famous hero on Earth. "But, since I'm not your father, I can't tell you what to do, so I don't mind helping," he said, "But, remember, there can be no dark without an equal amount of light, so your entrance could cause heroes to start springing up. I'm no quantum physicist, so I'm not sure, but you never know." He then hummed the theme from "The Twilight Zone."

    [/ QUOTE ]

"Is that so..." came a voice that nearly all present recognized. "If that is the case then how does one explain the existance of the dimension controlled by the Tyrant or even that of an alternate Clockwork King?" No one had seen nor heard the cyborg assassin enter the room, but Jack in Diamonds was there still wearing his cloak.
  19. [ QUOTE ]
"Why you is more like it?" Mr. Book thought to himself will looking at Kirke.

"And what exactly is it we will be doing?" He asked aloud.

    [/ QUOTE ]

"The why and the what actually go hand in hand," Medb replied, "but the 'what' can be answered the most directly. The nature of this endevor will require two lookouts, one of whom must have a strong connection to the spirits of men. I can go into more detail later, but suffice it to say, there is one man in particular who poses the greatest risk the success of the summoning of this living weapon as such intreference from him would nullify our own existence as well as causing the distruction of all things that would be necissary to achieve your future goals..." She was interupted by what sounded like a beeping noise. Medb reached over the desk and pressed a previously unseen button. "What's the problem?"

The two men could hear man talking but they couldn't make out what was being said. "Show me," Medb responed to the industinct, disembodied voice. A panel raised on one wall revealing a screen.

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------

    [ QUOTE ]
Kathy made her way into the warehouse. She was seeping dark energy all around her.
"Hello boys, what did I miss?" Kathy said.

    [/ QUOTE ]

To her surprise, no one was actually IN the warehouse, causing her to look around in puzzlement.

((OOC: The warehouse is not where the meeting is actually taking place, but rather it's one of many randomised entry points to an artificial pocket dimension/fortress. Just a reminder to all those looking to join.))

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------

The tall woman's eyes narrowed. "Bring her into one of the auxiluary stations and seal doors to her essence untill further notice." Medb then smiled, an idea forming. "One more thing: send me everything we know about her, she could prove to be useful."
  20. [ QUOTE ]
((OOC: did I do something to write us into a corner, or are you just thinking of the next part of the story? I think this is a great idea, so if someone could post something, I can stop being afraid that the thread has died.))

    [/ QUOTE ]

((OOC:Since the only character I have active at the moment is Medb, I'm waiting on reactions from Book and Kirke.))

    (Edited to be OOC.)
  21. ((OOC: Whoa there, Hermod, the tarot cards were mentioned OOC and haven't come up in the story yet. Let's not jump the gun. I am wondering where this scene is taking place. I'm assuming they are somewhere in the Mobile Pocket-Dimensional Fortress: Tower (name inspired by "Mobile Battleship Nadesco") but a specific room would be nice.

As a suggestion for jumping into Open RPs in the future, try to introduce your characters by having them interact with an already established character or joining a set of events that are still unfolding. I'm sure that some of the others can give you better tips than I can.))
  22. Medb noted that Kirke seemed to be considering if he should follow her into the private meeting, no doubt suspecting a trap and trying to determine if he could escape if his suspisions prooved true. The woman smiled at this.

Soon the three reached another opulent room that seemed to be an office of a sort. Around the room could be seen bobbles and trinkets from various time periods and locations, some of which seemed to have been rather alien. Thier host motioned for them to sit before she leaned against an antique looking desk.

"I've brought the two of you here because I believe that you both will be the linch-pins in this entire endevor... More specificaly, you both will have to give the call as to if and when a red light must be placed on the final stage of the operation..."
  23. ((OOC: Let's just assume that yours was a flashback so that we can bring you in more readily. Let's assume that Disco is touring the MPDF:T after having heard the general speil that was given before as he was exceptionally early, as was Dark Mason.))

    ----The night of the meeting----

Medb sighed after the robot left, it seemed this meeting would have to close early, besides it would be best to have everyone her when she revealed her full plans anyway, as well as the family secrets. "I think now would be a good time to break, seeing as how I only wish to go over this next bit once. You are free to wander this facility if you wish as the doors that each of you are allowed through are keyed to recognize your indevidual essences, just like the barrier and gates you all passed through when you entered here, so no one can enter where they are not allowed. Also, feel free to get to know one another as many of you will be working quite closely. I would like to speak with Mr. Book and Mr. Kirke privately." She motioned for the two men to follow her to a secret door behind her seat at the table.

((OOC: Feel free to establish the layout of Tower. I'm willing to leave this up to you since it could theoretically have just about anything in it and could be any size. Also, think about a Tarot card, preferably Major Arcana, that would be associated with your character (based on background or personality), this will come up at the end of the meeting when the full plan is revealed. This is a good source for the meanings of the cards. Edit: The Chariot and the Reversed Sword Page are taken.))
  24. ((OOC: Due to writer's block, I'll only be addressing Combat's post.))

Medb steapled her fingers in thought. "I trust that our facilities were sufficient for aiding you with dealing with your artifacts. As to what we have been discussing, I've just finished explaining to them the goal I'd expressed to you before letting you attend to your own urgent buisness."
  25. On my scrapper I've done much the same as you have, Ivory, however, I don't know if you use combat jump in addition to the fitness pool and sprint. I actually also use the stealth and invisibility powers as they fit with the ninja theme I have for him, so I can go places that I normally shouldn't. It is actually a lot of fun finding out exactly where you can go with just those powers, even though it does take a little longer to do.
