    Heh.

I have been taking out the snipers in FF and PI for years now. I have no idea how, when or why it started but I always announce in broadcast, "Another sniper taken down. Courtesy The Sisterhood." It' s just one of those silly things I do. I did it so much that now Liz does too.

We're not really looking for answers, but giving hints as to what we have in mind. I thought that it was time to divert from the well-worn paths of the most run TFs and Trials in the game.

I didn't want to give the participants too much of a heads up because I want the event to be "fresh". The Task Force Professionals out there have been handily spanking the rest of us. =)

    Dr Vahzilok

Today, Outlaw Woman and I finsihed up the Dr Vahzilok story arc. It ended in the inevitable arrest and capture of the poor, demented doctor.

Here are a couple of screenies from these young heroes' first encounter with an AV.

    AV
    I most certainly did.

The arc is 3 door missions and is given by Dadelous. I can't remember the exact name of the arc, but it had "Theif" in the title.

EDIT: It's not "Thief" in the title, I must have picked up on that word reading the mission text. The arc is titled "Stolen Power".

I was referring to players in this game.

    I can name some great heroes of Liberty, it's just that they are disappearing. Of those that showed us how to be a hero;

Paul Metcalfe, Sentinel Queen, SuperChic, Lamorak, Hell Fira, Arclight, Smoke Ring, American Valor, Strong Arm, Kinetic Force, Gralg, Sweet Sarah, Gibson.... so many more..

All of these people did something either directly for me that I considered heroic or they did it for the community at large. They all had one thing in common, they went out of their way to do something that helped someone else and did not expect recognition or reward in return. As Valor said, they taught us to pay it forward. That is my definition of heroism in this game.

And now onto something Sarah said...

The real answer is that the game is too instance-heavy now. Case in point, even the Hami raids are capped at 50. Gone are the 'glory days' of massive street sweeps and hunts when people did missions just to kill time between fighting out in the zones.
I remember having this very conversation here on these boards. You foresaw what was to come and I was inclined to believe you. It is true, we lost our community soul when we lost the big outdoor sweeps and the Hami Raid.

Get on any team with 3-4 or more old timers and it won't take long to start hearing stories about the massive crowds in Perez or Boomtown, or groups criss-crossing the streets of Brickstown and even more groups ransacking Crey's Folly. Statesman stated he wanted people inside in missions and he got them there. We got the gutted spirit of what once was a vibrant community.

What's the solution? Maybe we start with slowing down a bit. We look for those needing our help, we don't step into a mission and clear a mob before a new player can even marvel at how intricate they are detailed or get a grasp on what his/her objective is. We start being considerate to teammates and it becomes a habit everywhere. Before long we crave the interaction of sharing and doing and being on Liberty together.

In a small arc in Cimerora, I came across Ghost Widow at the back of a mission. What she said to me chilled me. Wow.

  9. Both of you hold opinions I respect on many different things. In my eyes, you're both heroes.

As for what makes a hero, that is subject to the person who sees a hero in the small act or moment in which they were affected by them. There are, however, certain mindsets that naturally create heroes and heroic acts.

Selflessness is very high on my list of hero traits.

Willingness to share and to teach.

Simultaneously displaying humility while carrying greatness with grace.

These are a few of the traits I see in heroes.
  10. I have to work Friday evening, but if late-comers can get in on Saturday, I'm your huckleberry!

    Lady Grey

Last night we ran a Lady Grey Task Force out of the Rikti War Zone. We didn't try to set any speed records and we didn't try to stealth any missions away. We ran the maps, arrested the aliens and had a great time. It was a socializing, leisurely TF that thoroughly entertained. I was running Grace Green, my invul/ss tanker, and she had a glorious evening foot stomping her way through miles of Rikti bodies.

Thanks for a great time, everyone!

    The Team

With those online times, you'll definitely be seeing me in Sisterhoodfriends!

    Welcome back!
  13. Before the Sisterhood Sunday Event got kicked off, I got a little surprise from a very surprising source. American Valor arrived paging me in broadcast and delivered himself as my birthday stripper-gram!

What's that you say? Pics or it didn't happen?

    Well, here ya go.....

  14. It was the closest race yet! there were three teams and the times were 56 mins, 58 mins and 62 mins!

Here is a screenie of some of the filks from my vantage point.
