I agree, but I'd like to be able to get them eventually. I don't want them now. I mean, I do, but I can wait. I would definitely be willing to wait if I knew that I could get them eventually. I don't like the cycling of the rewards, though, which is what this thread is supposed to be about. And there is really no point of the harsh tone, it makes you look mean.
-
Quote:Ah, I meant the wings alone, not how much to get up to that point. You can get tokens by buying points. There's your option to "buy them". What they're charging is however much it would cost you to buy enough points to get the required tokens.
Yeah, the point of my complaint was that I have spent a lot of my own money on this game, but now I don't know if I can afford any extra PP. My last post was wrong, I did not do a good job of expressing my argument. Sorry. I stand by my first post, but I want an option to just buy the wings. And I don't care what the wings cost... up to a point. If it goes over a certain point, I don't know if it would be worth it.
Also, I can be just as big of a fan even if I now can't afford to buy any extras. This is the only game I am subscribed to, now. The economy hit me pretty hard recently, and I am still paying. I don't know if it counts for anything, but I am a fan still.
Again, my last post was poorly written, sorry. -
Yes, I did do the math improperly there. However, my point was not the money, as I do not wish to buy any months. The point was that, for those of us who just pay VIP, we will need to wait a huge amount of time to be eligible to get the amazing rewards, but they won't be available when we do so. Honestly, I am fine waiting, but it won't help if the rewards are being cycled out.

Okay, guys, I'm back.
And I'm really mad.
I suppose mad isn't the right word. More like disappointed.
I really want one of the Tier 9 VIP reward costume set pieces. Namely, the Phoenix Wings. They would fit so many of my characters, and open up a world of new possibilities. Now, I'm not here begging for a dev to hand me a set. Nor am I asking for them to be given out. All I want is an option to buy them. I don't care how much they charge.
I don't like being unable to ever get something. The whole rest of the game is purchasable. I have looked at the calender, and I determined that I won't reach tier 9 fast enough to select the wings before they are cycled out.
All I am asking for is a way to buy them. A way so that people who have spent two years (almost three, come this June) can get some of the best looking pieces in the game. I have done the math. At $15 a month, for two years and 11 months, I have spent $525 on this game alone, not including the purchase of every single pack that came out during that time frame. I just want a way to finish my costumes, and watching the time run out on this set is killing me.
So, please, devs and forum mods, try to make it possible for us to buy the sets being cycled out. If it is 400 PP for the Phoenix wings alone, I will spend my month's worth of PP on them. I don't like not being able to get something, and this will make it a lot less depressing every time I see someone with the wings.
Thank you for reading this. -
I'm not protesting. There is nothing I can do. I just wanted to say goodbye.
-
Support locked my account in the first place. My brother and I share the account, and apparently that means goodbye for me.
There is literally nothing I can do. -
City of Heroes decided since I got my account from my brother, who is the same age as me but made the account originally, my account is now going to be locked. Forever. Goodbye Virtue, it's been so fun. I wish I could give away my inf, but my account is already locked. I'm surprised I'm still able to post on the forums.
I'm so glad I got to be with you guys. I'm so glad I got to build so many bases. I'm so glad I got to host those CCs, glad I got to call for those mothership raids. I've been with this game for nearly 4 years now, and I don't regret a second of it.
Have a good time in the city, guys. I wish I could be there with you.

Thanks, guys. Most of you seem so nice. Maybe I WILL give this another shot.
If any of you want a fifty war shade, somewhat purpled, on virtue who wants to meet new people and who does a lot of scary-as-hell-omfg-I'd-hate-to-meet-this-guy-but-you'd-be-perfect-for-our-arcane-sg rp, then hit me up. Omi loves to role-play! -
Yeah. I have a story to tell you guys. It's pretty sad, at least by my standards. Most of you who know me on Virtue know how peppy I usually am, but this just bums me out.
Today started at exactly 1 PM for me, thanks to the near-allnighter I almost did. I woke up to the great sound of my brother using my computer. And there was a theme song I couldn't place.
He was playing champions online.
Now, as a huge CoH fan, I was pissed. However, due to my short attention span for some MMo's I was on hiatus and playing LoL (league of legends). I haven't been on CoH for a while... around five months, actually.
So, just to spite him, I log on to CoH. Just to see whats new, revisit my main WS. Lord Omi. I remember him.... God, the epic archetypes are fun.
Anyway. So, I log onto Virtue, get the gazillion influence from the stuff I've sold, and check the SG page. Turns out my best friend, Ebon Heart, is giving away the SG we worked so hard to build.
I need cheering up. All of my friends have been offline for a long time. I have no way of contacting them, the SG I was in and had friends in all tanked.
I feel really sad now. I'm regretting logging back in.
Can anyone, please, try to convince me CoH is worth playing again? I've been here for... forever, I guess. I got most of the vet awards, I have a few 50's.... just someone please tell me it's worth it to make new friends. I guess I'll have to leave them, too, eventually. -
Clipping vs clicking... It was a personal slang of mine. I suppose there could be some confusion, but I didn't realize this when I posted it. I just say clicking, cause, it would seem like they click together or something. Or something.
I'm kind of amazed this thread has gotten so much review. Usually my questions go unanswered.
The only real thing that I want changed is to make your heroes more realistic. And I know, this is an unrealistic game, but that doesn't mean I'd like to be just like Omi. Even though he's a guy. It really bugs me how silly the females look when we're kicking ****, and that issue I pinned down to the boob size. Sure, the arms are small, too. I just tend to see those things first. -
This. I've noticed the exact same thing, GG. You really go out of my way to disagree with everyone, just for the sake of disagreeing, don't you.

Quote:Do you want to bet? Do you honestly want to bet that I'm not a programmer?
People are talking amongst themselves about a different topic. No one's berating on your on the whole 'slutty' discussion. It's more about someone saying something, and someone else taking offense, and everyone telling her she's being silly, and her denying it.
You do not know how hard or easy it would be to implement this. You're not a programmer. You're not a designer. You're not a 3D Modelling artist. And last but not least, you do not work in Paragon Studios to have any clue on how the game engine functions.
You do not know how this game works, and how such features would be implemented, and whether or not they would affect other parts of the game, and whether or not the majority would embrace the additions. You're not a programmer. You're not a designer. You're not a 3D Modelling artist. And last but not least, you do not work in Paragon Studios to have any clue on how the game engine functions.
It's CLIPPING. Not "clicking". Clipping is when a part of a geometry collides and is inserted into another geometry (or itself) and hence part of it is "clipped" from the rendering pipeline, and would not be rendered.
Okay. Awesome suggestions! I would love new hairstyles! I'm hoping Issue 20 comes with more customization options, as David N. hinted at revamp of old costume pieces at some point!

And finally, all you're stating are various suggestions that you, personally, would like to see in the game. Why did you make this thread here and not in the Suggestions Forum? And if that's true, why is your thread titled "remarkable issues" and your original post labels the lack of these features flaws and issues with the game?! I do not get this!
Even you don't know what this "thread is about"! xD
'Cause I do. I really do. What about this, I pull the links for the three games I've made, and THEN you can reconsider. And I use clicking as slang for clipping. It sounds the same in my mind. Alright? Yeesh.
And, my remarkable issue was that I was remarking about the remarkable size of the cleavage in this remarkable game, and said size was an issue for me because I wanted more manly girls. Thus, a remarkable issue.
Any questions?
Do you know how redering works? I'm just asking, do you? YOu realize pulling the files for a muscular male then overlaying it on top of a female model, then merging the render and cutting the insides out is relatively easy, right?
And no, I don't work at Paragon. No, I don't know how the game works. But yes, I am a programmer, yes, I know how easy or hard something would be to render, and yes, you need to read what I've said before commenting. -
Quote:Gah. SInce when did I say they didn't exist? You know, .001 of the world is a hell of a lot of people. Just saying. .001 of a billion is one million. That's a million people with big boobs per billion. And that's a lot of people. You said they don't exist. Now you're being all snotty with "Well, fine, they're a tiny outlier". That's not really the case either. While they're not the majority, they're also not the rare oddity that you're suggesting. Face the fact that some women do have such breast sizes and get the hell over it already. No one's saying that to argue against the option for smaller sizes. Just to point out that your perceptional bias is skewing your...er, figures. >.> It's not like it's a slight against you to say that there are a reasonable amount of women with naturally large breasts out there.
This might explain your perceptional bias. Your peers are high school students either going through or barely out of puberty...
You, sir, are missing the point. -
WOW! That's a lot of replies!!!
Annnnnyway, thanks, Forbin, for that... uhm... present. Actually, Golden Girl, you can have them. I have a boyfriend already and I'm not interested in that sort of thing yet.
Also. Guys. Since when is this a thread about slutty looks? I just wanted more realistic proportions, never once did I say that boobs = bad. I just expressed distaste with how they were rendering, but did not insinuate that I don't like people with big boobies. If you guys want to have an argument about how to make yourself a ****, then, sure, but let's stay on topic, shall we?
Moving on.
I agree, a monsterous top would be good. It wouldn't be too hard to render, either... just change the size of the chest area and make the biceps larger.
I fully support more hairstyles for guys, but I am not talking about how hair looks for them, nor am I comparing the two.
Larger shoulders wouldn't change the proportions of the arms, now, would it. SO why not? If it looks out of proportion we can ust increase the phisique.
Chest icons float above the skin for all models. Otherwise, clicking would become huge if you bend over. This would be true for larger chest models as well, and I now realize this.
A way to get spikey, short hair that doesn't click with the Reaper detail 2 would be fantastic.
The remark about the hairstyles for females was a plea for more hair like Resistance 1 and 2, but I just got GR, so now I have them. Go birthday presents.
Ah, to be sumo wrestler ould be cool, but making a different top option for females is easier. Much easier. The day we get 4 or 5 boob sliders, for weight, together-ness, size, flattness, ect, is when I'll admit that that is possible. But, if you were reading, you'll realize we want the exact same thing.
Thanks for the responses guys!

Sigh...
Ok, maybe the direct approach is NOT what you people want.
Yes, yes. I want ponies and unicorns and whatever. Oh, wait. I don't want a completely different mechanic, I just wanted more buff looking armor.
Thats all, guys. I just wanted more buff looking armor. And, as a side note, I mentioned, that the breast scales seem catered toward the positive end of the spectrum. Ok, I mentioned my side note first, but who cares? I apologize for asking a question, which was, by the way, "Why is there not a way to make more buff or realistic female proportions?" and not "I want smaller boob sizes cause mine are too small."
I asked a question, and I was not satisfied with the answers people gave me. This is because they didn't answer my question until they actually re-read my post.
And yes, I am snarky. If you did a little research, it's because I'm 14, turning 15 tomorrow btw. * And I don't act like an adult, that's for sure. I'm not blaming my age as a reason for my snark, no. I'm simply stating the facts here. I want a female hero I can hope to be in my life. Not the superpower part, no, but the warrior female. I'm going through a rough patch with bullies right now, and the hope of one day being the strong, valiant hero is an allure I can't resist.I saw a part of the game I was dissatisfied with, and I asked a question about it. Let's try to answer it, ok? Let's not spend time trying to prove me wrong. Just tell me I'm wrong if I am, but I don't know where there has been anything I've said that I insisted was the case.
(Also, I'm editing out the previous post's ending paragraph. Trolls suck.)
*I admitted this in the Rude Tells thread, on page.... uh.... low 200's, I think. That was about 3 months ago. You can look it up if you wish, I have no trouble with it...
ANd, as a final note, yes. I am biased. And I admitted it. I just wondered why there wasn't a more realistic way to make female figures.
Yeesh. I'm sorry, I didn't know it was a sensitive topic. Boobs are a lot more popular on the forums then I thought.... >.> -
Well, I'm pleasantly surprised by the amount of replies, but I'm not so pleasantly surprised by the amount of people telling me that they know people with big boobs.
Ok, then. Those who know endowed females. Tally up everyone you know withOUT boobies the size of trucks, then compare it to the person you know.
Satisfied? Saying you know an outlier doesn't make it less of an outlier. Ready for an actual update?
Good.
Ok, sorry, again, but bringing my personal bias into this post was a choice I made myself. And yes, I have small boobs. But that has nothing to do with why I feel uncomfortable with the amount of cleavage that can be displayed. I know, I know, I KNOW this game is based off of comic books, but there are plenty of people in comic books that aren't so endowed. I just wanted more... manly not-males. A tomboy, or even just a person with a female head but a male body. I wanted an unstoppable badass, not a person unreasonably thin. And I'm all right with the changes not happening, as long as it was possible to create such effects without cookie cutter ways. And a recent poster, I forget your name, yes, that is a great female body. But, the pose is not available in the creator, and the shoulders seem too small. Not that I'm critiquing your costume, I think it's awesome, but I just... want more, I guess.
Thanks for the support, guys! And a happy holidays!!! -
Sorry for the double post, but you're a bastage. Maybe my boobs are small, but you're being really mean. I wonder how you've survived your 500-odd posts without being banned from the forums, because you seem like a jerk to me.
-
Ah, Thauminator, you're a jerk. You really are. And I'm not saying that I am jealous of the huge bazoingas in the game, I'm just pointing out that, as far as crimefighting goes, you're going to have a lot of trouble with back pain.
And, regarding whoever made the point about being 9 feet tall: Yes, you can be, but theres an option to be normal, too. The average height is in the middle of the slider. And, well, sure we can jump 300 feet, but we're superheroes! This isn't about realism for powers, its about realism in body shapes.
And, also, the shoulders for females are laughably small. I want armored badarses, charging in with a sword and beheading people, not some lightly armored person with a sword who looks like a ninja, while trying to go for the "Don't mess with her" look. We need padded armor, huge armguards and giant biceps, too! Who says girls can't be buff?
And, also, why is there so much mentioning of real world females? Sure, there are a few, but they make up less then a percent of a percent of females in the world. There are more people that are as buff as you can make your male then those with boobies that big, unenhanced.
Yes, this is based off of a comic book, but this isn't going to stop people from providing D++++ figures to satisfy their urge for pixels that look appeasing. I simply wish for a way to make women look more.... manly. -
I would like to say a few things before I begin.
Firstly, I am a girl in real life.
Secondly, I am a fan of making both male and female costumes.
Alright, let's roll.
The City of Heroes costume creator. One of the most amazing parts of the game. The literal millions of options are astounding, yet I can still find few faults.
Namely, the abilities to make your cleavage larger then your head. Real girls, in real life, don't have breasts that big. And that bothers me a lot. I'll admit I'm sensitive to that stuff, I am not as.. endowed... as others, but still! I imagine that feature was developed by males, for males. All the females I know set their cleavage at a minimum, because thats an actual size.
Another thing: Why can't girls have chest icons as big as boys? They are almost impossible to see, and really effect some 3D elements. I'd prefer it if they were the same size. Or, at least, large enough to see.
And yet another thing: The shoulder items are tiny compared to males. What if I want a heavily armored girl, with huge, thick armor and a normal, unarmored head?
And yet ANOTHER thing: Why do all the female hairstyles look somewhat the same? Can we please get one that doesn't look like it's being held up by over a ton of hairspray? Can't we get spikey, short hair that doesn't click into our details? And why is the first hair "Medium?" It is the ugliest hairstyle I've seen, ever, and it's the first thing that shows up when I reset my costume.
I'm sorry I sound like a brat, but that just really pisses me off...
~GreatRock -
Awwwwwwww.... Can I make one, 3 by 3 room, then? That's it, I just have this great fire pit design down and it looks, IMO, great. Again I'm not trying to brag I apologize if I seem haughty... I just play this game for building and nothing else. Ok, that and fly. And warshades. And bane spiders.
Well, thanks for letting me join, in any case, I'm happy to join the cause!! -
Are you guys looking for a base builder? I, not to brag, but I'm pretty good, I can make a good, cheap base for you guys really fast
-
I surely wish I could participate. However, I'm broke. All I haves 300 mil, but I'd gladly donate it,this seems like a good cause. Can someone mail me at @thegreatrock?
Good luck guys!!!!! -
Quote:Yeeeeeeah I missed it. Aww crap.I think I missed it, but Lord Omi would love to get something too!
Oh well. Dechs, very good job on the ws build by the way, I can say from experience now that the way to play a warshade will henceforth be known as the Dechs way to play.
Well done sir, well done.
