I have to wholeheartedly agree with the OP, as my experiences are almost identical, and having played a trial and now having found AoC not much different from WoW in the kind of people it seems to attract, I decided to take the plunge and subscribe to CoX.

And I love it. People really do seem nicer in this game, with heads as far removed from their backsides as possible.

my only regret is that I can't stop playing :P

I hardly even know what they look like - saw someone with a Halloween outfit that was a Coralax, but getting the the Gladiator badge was weird - they were just ripples in the water, and were defeated before they could even show themselves
