Quote:Accordinng to that old NCSoft marketing survey from a while back, it has something to do with performing tasks to earn things called universal enhancement slots, as well as the special enhancements that go in them. The slots would give bonuses to your whole build - for example, a universal damage enhancement would give, say, 5% damage to all your damage powers - and there'd be a total 10 slots available."...focus on the critically important End Game system..." This blurb is completely new info to me. Does anyone have any additional info on what this end game system is. Actually I'm a tad fuzzy on exactly what "end game system" means in the first place, feel free to educate me on that.
The setting for these tasks was going to be a mysterious alien space station orbiting Earth.
How much of this is still part of their plans for the endgame content in GR is totally unknown right now

Quote:I thought Positron banned those PLers? For those who didn't know, can you believe that War Witch started as the Office Manager? (Edit: actually, maybe she didn't start as the Office Manager, that's from August of 2002, 6 months after she was hired) And now she's the Lead Designer!

Quote:I think you missed the jokeJoe "Hero 1" Morrissey was the main force behind the MA, especially getting it up and running. But his main job is writing content, and overseeing MA development -- as much as having the tools to write content is a help -- was taking time away from writing that content. And so, they hired Sean "Dr. Aeon" McCann to oversee the MA (and write content) so that Hero 1 can focus on writing canonical arcs. Hero 1 is also the keeper of the CoH Lore Bible.
Bruce "Horatio" Harlick is simply one of the writing staff (with excellent pedigree from PnP RP games... the original Foxbat of Champions PnP).

Quote:Read the linked War Witch interview in the first postMy main complaint remains, however. It's been four issues since we had a quantity of new story content that I felt at all enthusiastic about. Until I see some confirmation that this trend is over, and that story updates are going to start being major features of upcoming regular issues again, discussion of how full of goodies Going Rogue may be just feels like you're trying to convince me to buy something I thought I was already paying for.

Once GR has gone live, would any of the post-GR content for 2010 involve revamping any of the less-visited older zones such as Boomtown or Dark Astoria in a similar way to the revamps that were given to Faultline and the RWZ?
These little-used zones already have a framing story/background lore, and would seem to be ideal places to fill up with new content. -
BAB has recently been heard to ask other PC staff if anyone saw the game last night, who made the morning coffee, and to comment on how lovely the weather was, regardless of the actual weather outside - he also seemed interested in TPS reports.

Praetoria is "several different zones", that "kinda progress from the roots of the original city of Praetoria to Cole's vision of a perfect planned out "golden city" - in his eyes".
The city is "new", "bright" and "has a lot of open spaces - it has plazas, parks - plenty of stuff to explore". -
Quote:Well, War Witch has mentioned that they're working on the first post-GR Issue too, so that's sort of a little bit more infoCongrats to the promotions, hires, etc

But the whole "Here's news that you will be getting news soon(tm)!" is getting a little old.
While it's still better than no acknowledgment at all, it's still rather irritating.

Quote:The "fun" part he mentioned is very important - because endgame either has to be an endless way to increase your stats, which would break any sort of game balance, or it has to be something that has a beginning and an end, so once you've done it, you're left needing more "endgame" to keep you occupied.Congratulations to all, although given what a touchy subject 'End Game' is in most MMOs I'd hate to be in Positron's metal boots right now. I guess he will be used to it following the MA drama of last year.
I think the best example of something endgame-ish in CoH right now would be the ITF - it's played a lot by 50s because it's fun - so if they can create something similar as part of the enw endgame stuff, it'll be awesome. -

By the way, I hope War Witch's first task, after getting a new cubicle, is to move the AE building from the RWZ to Pocket D where it belongs
-
I think I'm going to interpret War Witch's promise for the 2010 post-GR content being "some of the most exciting and challenging things we've ever done" as a reference to animated hair - unless she posts a full list of everything planned post-GR to disprove it.
