Quote:If the 60 month vet badge has been awarded to you in-game, then you'll be available for the Dual Pistol closed beta - but you might not get an e-mail telling you about it.So my PlayNC account says that I have 4 years 6 months of paid time, but that I have 5 years of Veteran time (stupid unemployment). I have the 60 month vet badge, wasn't subscribed during the loyalty period, and no way I made Hero Con. No beta invite. That doesn't concern me, but I am rather confused by how ambiguously I meet or do not meet the requirements.
If the closed beta is the same as the I14 one, then clicking on the forum main page - not the English one - will show you the closed beta section right at the top of the page. -
Are you a 60 month vet?
Did you go to Hero Con?
Did you stay subscribed during the Loyalty Program period?
If you did one or more of these three things, and you're still not in the Dual Pistol closed, beta, then you should contact one of the mods. -
I'm pretty sure they mean live servers - they've already announced that Dual Pistols started their closed beta yesterday, so saying people could beta test them again next month isn't really such a big thing - but saying people can get them on the live servers a couple of months before GR goes live is a pretty big hook, I think.

Quote:If someone's polite, then you should help them, no matter how basic their question might be, or how high their level is.Hesitant to chime in here, but... The problem I had with those who only PLed in the AE, was that they didn't STAY there. The got to 50, and then decided the rest of the game and non-AE teams were for them. I have no problem explaining the game to a new player on a low level (below 30) toon, but if you are lvl 50, you should know you way out of AP. Call me an elitist if you want, but really, AP?
So what they did was leave the AE, and then started to screw things up for others who were playing the game, and not sitting at the end of a map while some one else played for them. I am not saying everyone who did the AE thing was like this, but there were enough to give the AE a bad name.
Just my take on it. -
Quote:The freedom of not having any superpowered loved ones disappear would be quite niceWell, now I'm curious how you would convince the people of Utopia that having the freedom to be mugged in a city as war is better than the peace and prosperity that their security provides.

Quote:I won't be killing anyone, and none of my powers set things on fire - the "theft" part is possible though - I'm sure Tyrant has plenty of secrets he doesn't want people to get hold ofMeanwhile, I look forward to hearing about you committing Theft, Arson, and Murder "For Great Justice!"

Quote:That doesn't make the good side wrong
Evil drives this world,it's what man does,if you hadn't noticed the "good guys" are outnumbered.
And man might be evil, but woman is less so

Quote:No, it's more "if it's tyranny, it's not my ideal of freedom"This is exactly what I was talking about actually. This is the "if it's not my ideal of law enforcement, it's evil. Period."

Well, I'll certainly be on his case in JulyQuote:Remember, in all this we are still fighting Statesman, just one that decided that Freedom was too much of a risk against peace. And come July, we'll be on our way to prove his case.

Quote:When those laws are made by a tyrant, then yesAnd to him you're evil.
Or do you believe we should back the people that routinely break the laws that keep the peace, damage or destroy public property and threaten the lives of the innocent?
And the 90% of superpowered people who "disappear" are quite probably pretty innocent too

Wasn't the last non-co-op zone they added a red side one?

Quote:Well, badges are supposed to reflect most of the in-game activities - and teaming is one of themI'm opposed to anything in game that absolutely forces me to team up to complete it. Bad enough with missions, I can fail those and not lose out on storyline or badges or such 'cept a little XP... But for badges I HAVE to be social? Bah!!

Quote:Well, if you're going to break the law, you can't really complain when it makes life tougher for youMeh, I say pick up a Safeguard mission and compare it to a Mayhem mission:
-You die, one has to break out of a fortified jail and the other is practically dropped right where they left off
-One has the enemies ganging up on you while the other has you conveniently fighting down hordes of enemies *after* you complete your objectives and *only* when you decide to go *looking* for them
-The heroes a'comin' even after beating you down.
And that's just some of the stuff that makes the mission harder. Villains also get to blow up cars and stuff which never gets old.

Quote:No - because Tyrant's evilNow that's a statement I've been wanting to debate for a while. The way you portray yourself on these boards, it's almost as if you beling at Emperor Cole's side spouting the same "You had better behave, or else you will be sorry" propaganda he does.

But raising the level cap is worse than an endgame system in a paid-for expansion - if someone doesn't want to try the endgame system, then they don't need to buy the expansion - but if they want to continue to level, then they have to buy the expansion - and as there seems to be a noticable lack of rage whenever an MMO invites people to pay for anew level cap, then I really don't think that an optional endgame system being paid-for content is going to upset too many people.

Quote:It will be for NCSoftThe "actual end-game content" that you speak of must be purchased IIRC. Not much of a reward is it?

But slightly more seriously, I'm pretty sure that GR will end up being bought by a very large section of the playerbase - if paid-for expansions didn't sell well, MMOs wouldn't bother releasing them. -
-
Quote:Or we're simply more poweful and skillful, so the blue side content just seems to be easier when compared to the way the weaker, more inept Villains struggle through their missions? It's because heroes are sissies and need to be coddled, thus their easier content.
