Quote:Yeah, I've wondered about him too - I thought maybe he appeared red side, but now it sounds like he's totally in hidingThought up a new one, Marshal Jason Blitz.
He's the leader of the renegade Arachnos battalion on Warburg, he's in control of the most deadly missiles in the world, and there is that badge saying 'Whoever controls Warburg controls the world.' I'd like to see Blitz himself!
EDIT: They could always get around the problems of missions against him having to be in a PvP zone by making a few outdoor instance maps of Warburg, and have us access them from some other place. -

Quote:Yes - the tide towards moving hair in games is flowing like hair in the windI'm not going to debate what the playerbase of this one single MMO wants or not for new character costume features. But I will point out that one of the main video demos provided by Nvidia for its new line of GeForce GTX 470/480 GPU's uses the example of moving hair to demonstrate its new DX11 tessellation capabilities. Just do a Google search of "Nvidia 480 hair" and it's all over the place. Apparently this major GPU company sees "moving hair" as a key example of what people in general want to see from next-generation video hardware. Just saying...
Obviously moving hair represents a fairly hard trick for older video hardware to handle real-time. That's pretty much why it "hasn't happened long before now." But with the continuing improvement in GPU technology it seems pretty likely that game players are going to be getting things like moving hair as a commonplace detail in the not too distant future. It's possible that older games like CoX may never get updated enough to feature it specifically, but I would expect just about every new game from now on to provide some solution for it now that the GPU technology is finally getting good enough to handle it.
In any event even trying to take a stand against moving hair for game characters now or in the future is basically pointless all things considered.

Quote:You forgot to mention the hairMore detailed character models.
The character creator is currently one of the best parts of the game, and what makes CoH so good, in my opinion. However, other games are catching up with us, and I feel that much more detailed models would almost be a must were there to be a CoH2; separate fingers, separate eyes, waists and necks that can bend independently of each other. Build all the new powersets from the ground up with as much customisation as you can cram in, while you're at it.

Quote:A bigger world Two problems with that - first Paragon City is the City of Heroes - and second, for the same reason as they don't make flag capes for players, they'd either have to make every country available as a starting point, or people would complain.Quote:If asking for a more detailed world wasn't enough, I'd want to expand a little. Perhaps now that Paragon City and the Rogue isles are nearing relatively stable control by their respective leaders, it may be a good time to expand out into the world. Small outposts could be taken in other parts of our world such as other cities, or perhaps outposts in wild terrain. This isn't' so high on my list of wants, but I certainly wouldn't say no. Especially if instead of just exploring to these areas, we could begin our character's careers here. I'd love to be able to play an international hero in their own country.
Like think of all the countries in Europe - if they didn't make all of them, the players from the ones who weren't made would feel left out. -

Quote:That's the main reason I've hardly looked at the rest of the site - when they give examples to illustrate a trope, it's like almost always something animeI used to be a troper, until I left due to disagreements with how admin were running the site.
For those tropers wondering, yes, it has to do with renames, the so-called "dominance of anime", and suchlike.

I think it's interesting that you mention Star Wars - because Anakin's redemption might not be as obvious as it looks - like at the end of VI, he's a Force ghost, but is that because he's been "forgiven" by the Force, or is it just because he's the Chosen One? Like does he get to be a ghost by default?
In the older movies, he actually doesn't do a huge amount of evil - he kills a few people, mostly his own officers, and that's about it - the worst bit of evil in them, the destruction of Alderaan, isn't actually his work.
But in the newer movies, Lucas goes out of his way to show Anakin taking part in the most evil acts of the movies - not just killing the Jedi, but killing children too - he could have glossed over that, and just shown the clonetroopers storming the Jedi temple, but he made a point of showing Anakin taking a leading role in it.
So, in the older movies, Anakin is evil, but isn't really shown to do any big time evil, so his redemption/forgiveness at the end of VI seems possible - but the newer movies show just how evil he was once he truend to the dark side, but they also add another layer by making him the Chosen One, created by the Force itself, which makes his redemption/forgiveness at the end of VI a much more complex issue. -

Quote:No - I don't start many threads.Colors don't say anything about your morals, only action. If you have an IQ over 50, you should know that.
Wait, didn't you start a thread about morals, and stuck your foot in your mouth repeatedly? Or got called on some idiotic things you said? Something like that. -

Quote:Although you can't see it, the back of my cape is also black, which just adds to the moral confusion.Well, if they only come on the female bodies, that explains it. I only play male creations.
Wait, is she a Hero, Villain, or Villain who's trying to be a Hero? I can't tell by the clothes she's wearing. I think that's Icon, but it could be a bug in the game. Better make her look more like a Hero. -
Quote:They look like this*shrug* Such a HUGE addition. *swoon* Must've missed it along with the new belt buckles or...wait. Sorry. Haven't gotten those yet. Well, I'm sure the necklines are there somewhere. I'll find them eventually, I'm sure.

Just a simple "V", but it was very nice of him to make them
-
Necklines aren't coming soon - we've already had them added several Issues ago

EDIT: They were added in July 2007, for Issue 10. -
Well, if they heard what we'd like, we have a slightly better chance of getting it added

Like the neckline option for the tights was something I'd wanted for quite a while, and Sexy Jay eventually PM'ed me for an example of what I meant, so I gave him one, and then necklines showed up in the next Issue - so they do listen to us - from time to time
And we've had lots of other costume stuff added that we've asked for too - animated tails are just the most recent example. -
Quote:More detailed hands is also a must have thing for our avatars - along with turning waists, turning necks, more realistic bust shapes and animated facesI just don't see moving hair making that big a difference to people. 'Realism'? Really? In a game with furries, catgirls, people who shoot flames from their hands, lasers from their eyes, and can fly? Please. Might as well ask them to get rid of the mitten condition our hand are in.

I've already read that page a while ago

Quote:Well, I'm not the only one wanting it - and a new game engine would be a good chance to add lots more details to our avatarsKeep burying your head the sand there, Sunshine. We'll tell you when to come up for air.
*hands GG a hair dryer* Point it at your screen, and hope for the best.
I just don't see moving hair bringing in new players. And since you're the only one asking for it, you're in the .0000000001% of the playerbase. Learn to deal with disappointment. Better they give us stuff that'll bring in more revenue and players.

Quote:I think CoH has already shown that super spandex will never rip, stain or lose color, no matter what happens to it - that's why it costs so much at IconI thought of one more I'd like to see:
Battle Damage - After a long fight or grueling TF/SF, it would be awesome to see bruising, tearing of cloth and dented armor/shields/hemlets on your characters. Of course, the damage is fixed when using inspirations or being healed.

Quote:CoH2 might have itWell, you better hope CO has moving hair, because that's the only way I see the Devs...hopefully....giving a flying fig about moving hair. I'd hope moving hair is on page 65 of the 66 page book, "What the players want". Right after 'clippable toenails'.

As long as my hair can move in the Paragon breeze, I'll be happy
