There aren't any videos linked to the signature story arcs - they're just like normal short arcs, set up as soloable Task Forces - each arc has some nice loading screen art, and each one also ends with a cutscene to set up the next part.

Quote:Devs hate Heroes.Once again, same as SSA Part 1:
-The blue side arc is a clone of the red side arc, only with parts cut out.
-The red side arc rewards a cool temp ability. The blue side arc has nothing.
-The red side arc reveals extra information/clarifies things the blue side arc just glosses over.
It's clear what side these arcs are really being written for; who's getting all the shiny and who is getting the hand-me-down story.
Even the very premise means your hero MUST fail to save the Phalanx member. -
Quote:He's funny - he's like a supercharged Robert FloresThe one thing I didn't enjoy about First Ward was the goofiness of Master Midnight's arc. Before and after that it's pretty much played completely straight, but for one arc you're bombarded with hilarious meta-humor.

As a man of science, who seems to be used to using his brain, you'd think he'd have worked out by now that his pathetic sense of entitlement, desperate neediness and whining self-pity wouldn't be the best way to impress a woman who seems to be attracted to powerful men.

Going by the large amount of empty space to the right that unbalances the picture, it's either unfinished, or that was to leave space for the log-in stuff
-
Do you mean the video interview with the devs that they put out today?
-
I think that any revamp or Peregrine Island should replace the Rikti and DE with Rulu-Shin.
-
The Resistance are set up in the same way as Longbow - a heroic group fighting evil, but with elements who turn vigilante, which means that Heroes have to fight them from time to time to deal with the rogue members.

Quote:Just another crazed loyalistOr there's been some "character development" somewhere inbetween the level gap. It's curious he was stealing Arachnos' idea. I'd say between the loss of his Praetorship and his failed attempts to prove himself to Cole, he... just kind of wound up losing it in the end.

But protecting the Seer network is the responsible thing to do - the game tells you thatQuote:When it comes to that *****, even you have to realize that her ideas are not what's best for the people of Praetoria.

Quote:The Keyes Island Reactors Trial shows that Anti-matter doesn't mind blowing up Praetoria - just as long as he's the one who gets to do itThis. Also, Anti-Matter has you foiling an Arachnos plot to blow Praetoria up with Rikti bombs and crap.

Betrayal = loyality?Quote:Concerning "Mother," you wind up betraying her at the end of her arc, as while you may be a Loyalist, even you can see she's all sorts of messed up.

Quote:That Resistance is the only option by the time the endgame storyline startsAnd Splice, Hatchet and Beholder are Crusader contacts. And Kang not only regrets what he had to do, but ends up becoming a Resistance fighter in his own way. Your point?

The First Ward repeatable contacts also give some hints with their flagging

The big orb palaces in the Shadow Shard are also kinda eyeball shaped, and so are the monuments, and Items of Power.
-
What will be new this year for Halloween is a a haunted mansion Trial.

-
That's less exciting
-
Kang, Anti-matter and Mother Mayhem are responsibility contacts

First Ward has very little motivation for Villains/loyalists - but the Incarnate storyline could be seen as Villains chasing after personal power - Ramiel and Prometheus have made it clear that drinking form the Well would lead people to become open to its control, so Villains wouldn't want that to happen to them anymore than Heroes would.Quote:My only issue is I don't understand the villains' drive to do these things. Now, if the idea behind it was to manipulate events so YOU might become the next ruler of Praetoria and then eventually at the last moment have that snatched from you as all good villain plans go, it'd make more sense for me. I know Primal Earth is threatened too, but even when villains team up with heroes they have ulterior motives.
I'm not sure what the loyalist motivation could be for the Incarnate storyline - maybe really, really deep cover?

Quote:Just think of them as foreshadowingIt was nice for the Rularuu to see some action. It's too bad they probably won't factor into the rest of the arc in any meaningful way.

I also like the way the Rulu-Shin were presented, art-wsie and story-wise - in spite of all the recent attention given to the CoT, I never actually thought of them while fighting these new hooded, faceless cultists with swords, man-skirts and lots of spikes. -

Did anyone else pause the shot of David Nakayama drawing to try and see what was on the screen behind him? there's a costume picture to the right, and two comic panels to the left, one with Statesman, and one that looks like Positron.
