Quote:They can add all kinds of stuff as Trial exclusvie unlocks, like costume parts, auras, emotes, temp power and so on, on top of the faster progress they give.Riiiiight...
Like they've adjusted merit rewards on TFs. Eventually something will be left to languish away from player interest. Attempts to herd players away and toward certain ways to play have not only ineffective, but will eventually become destructive to maintaining the playerbase and community. -
This was also posted today by Ghost Falcon, in relation to the scheduling of the Winter Holiday pack, but it gives an idea of what they're aiming for in the game:
-
The rewards and time-gating for the 2 paths can be adjusted until they're at the right balance for the Trials.

It's a possible future timeline, so it could be one where he was still alive - like we still go to Atlas Park when it's been hit by a Shivan meteorite, even though the timeline has unfolded in a different way and Galaxy City has become the place that was hit.

Quote:I think that the SSA won't be the last we see of StatesmanWell in true comic book fashion, I must now ask the question: is this a permanent death or a typical comic book death where there is a loophole somewhere that will allow his return?
Also how will Recluse take this? If anyone should kill Statesman it should be him,in his opinion, and now he has been deprived of his goal. That will make for an unhappy Recluse I would think.
Also we are presuming that Statesman isn't going to fake his death and disappear for a few decades so that he can be left alone.

Ms. Liberty is an obvious one to take over Statesman's place in the Freedom Phalanx - and maybe hand over the Vindicator leadership to someone else.
I think Desdemona is too busy with the Carbnival of Light right now - although whoever does replace Staetsman should be female to make the Freedom Phalanx more balanced. -
So am I - this, along with the big hint at the Player Summit about Tyrant being permanently defeated, is a good sign that the devs are prepared to change the game world in quite radical ways.

Quote:At the Player Summit, the devs talked about Tyrant being defeated, and leaving a power vacuum - so that sounds like they have something planned for the end of the Praetorian storyline that will have a permanent effect on the game world.I have a loyalist "hero" and a straight up arachnos agent (two of them). I dont want my ability to play straight up villains tromped on. If they kill off Cole so completely that I can no longer be a praetorian loyalist, or an arachnos loyalist, I will be very unhappy.
And as the phasing tech apparently has to be built into a zone from the start, it might be significant that the whole phasing tech system was added to the game at the same time as the Praetorian zones. -

At the Player Summit, the devs gave a pretty big hint about there being a 3rd path to Incarnate power that didn't involve Prometheus or the Well - so ther could be some connection there.

I wonder what Ms. Liberty's mental state will be like by the end of this arc? And Desdemona will also be affected.

Going by guesses for Issue 22 going live early next year, I wonder if an I22.5 might be a kind of follow up to the SSA?

My first successful Lambda was pretty epic - especially as it was before Marauder was tweaked to be a little more reasonable

We were mostly 50s, with a few 50+1s, and we took him down with 2 seconds left on the clock.
Running MoM for the first time on beta was also pretty awesome - Arbiter Hawk and The Net were with the league, and had to help us through the statue/aspect part, but getting dumped into MoM's brain map for the first time, and seeing we only had 2.5 minutes to destroy her before we died was totally awesome - plus it was also the first time we'd seen the Calvin Scott revelation, so it was an epic story moment too. -
He features in the new tutorial, and Arachnos has quite a big part in the new Atlas content and in some of the ongoing trianing missions.
