  1. Try dropping Cloak of Fear. You'd lose the -Accuracy component, but your AoE damage auras are spamming damage out constantly, so it's not as effective as when a Single-Target Scrapper (i.e. spines, broadsword) takes it to mitigate incoming damage.

Benefit would also be that it's one less toggle to run. That frees up more endurance for your attack chain.

Try it, as the -Recharge and Slow effect from Throw Spines is also a great damage mitigation approach. I alpha with TS to Slow the spawn and draw the alpha before hopping in and hitting Spine Burst or Dark Regeneration. It also stops the spawn from spreading out (the Slow effect turns their movement into a crawl).

Try it and see. My bet is you'll be pleasantly surprised.
  2. Good guide.

However, I have to disagree about Throw Spines. It does great damage, is one of your big AoEs, and has a cone about as wide as a bus. It also has a large slow component to it, noticably more potent than your other attacks.

I frequently start to hit a spawn by targeting a mob in the centerline of the spawn on the far side. When I get close enough, the power fires and usually nails 90%+ of the spawn. They are now slowed. Jump into the middle with Build Up + Spine Burst and start going to town. This combo is a great 1-2 punch and can level large spawns of +0 to +1 enemies with two shots (less than 10 seconds).

Throw Spines is now my favorite attack, especially since it can be slotted for +range to increase the size and depth of the cone. What's not to love?
  3. Yep, liked this thread so much, it's now in my "best of" links in my signature. Fantastic and straight to the point.
  4. Fantastic guide that I point to all the time. It's linked in my Sig now
  5. Great guide. I'm using it now for all my starting characters. Easy to follow and straightforward.

    Thanks!
  6. Understood. The 10-14 range, particularly as it allows sweeping in Perez Park, seems to be the way to go. I'll have to generate an AoE character to go try that out...
  7. Interesting premise.

Some caveats though.. I have an AoE Focused Fire/Fire Tank that's been streetsweeping for, oh, about 12 hours continuously so far in Talos Island. No costume drops, nada. Some rare salvage, but nothing of note and he's taking down sizable groups of foes.

It's better odds to streetsweep, but it's not magic. You still need to grind and have plenty of luck besides.

Thanks for posting the info though.
