I think I'm on one of the last fights, but I'm so out of practice... I really liked Poison Ivy in the game, but I didn't care much for the boss fight... Actually, I don't think I've cared much for any of the boss fights in the game, and I don't play many games like this, so I don't know how they rate with other games' boss fights. Very stoked for the sequel.

Wonder how long before there are pics of those costume sets/emotes/etc.
Also, that video is shamefully funny. -
I like her usual outfit a lot more myself.
Quote:I do heed a warning, not saying how or why, but your game may look messed up at one point, trust me, it's fine..It makes NO sense!

Quote:lol, I had fun with that too, but their screaming gibbering gets annoying...And now I am even more curious.
That was helpful, thanks!
I am now in the Intensive Treatment section. My new favorite thing to do is stand completely still and just counter when one of the crazies runs at me. It's a funny animation where they leap at you, you throw them to the ground then you punch them in the face and knock them out. -
I was late to the party too
Got it for christmas, I think I'm pretty much at the final fight, and I'm running around gathering all the hidden secrets I can... haven't done much in the way of challenges yet though. I like it a lot, it's fun, the voice acting, dialogue, scripting, pacing, etc, all great. I'm excited for the sequel already, Bats has such an awesome set of villains, can't wait to see what is coming.

Surprised no ones said it, but Mental Manipulation blasters can actually be very sturdy, especially on ITFs with lotsa mobs for Drain Psyche.

What I like best about that pic, is veng on auto fire.

Congratulations you two! So... instead of throwing rice, will there be space stations and cookies?

All that most maddens and torments; all that stirs up the lees of things; all truth with malice in it; all that cracks the sinews and cakes the brain; all the subtle demonisms of life and thought; all evil, to crazy Flea, were visibly personified, and made practically assailable in JGHopkins. He piled upon the wolfs white hump the sum of all the general rage and hate felt by his whole race from Adam down; and then, as if his chest had been a mortar, he burst his hot hearts shell upon it.

Sounds like CoH too
Quote:I'm in the opposite camp from the original poster. I've played a couple of games where everyone can fight (AoC, CoV), and overall I find it dull. Too much self-sufficiency takes the fun out of teaming for me. CoV in particular often feels like a group of people soloing together.
Quote:I have 2 defender that break that "healer" mold.
My Storm/Elec def can out tank most tanks thru chaos and debuffs. It work well to. So far I've tanked most AVs, often pissing off real tanks because I do a better job than some. Doesnt mean I'm a real tank, but for about 95% of the game I can.
My Arch/TA def is just an offensive beast. I can do about blaster lvl damage on every group. It really breaks mold for defender because you can solo well with it, and team very well.
The fact is I didnt go seeking for these builds to play like that. IMO these were designed like that to break that thought that support is healorz and can't do anything else. This is one of the reasons I've stuck with this game for 5 1/2 years now. I can't wait to see what on the horizon.
Quote:I'm guessing you have very little experience with good Tanks.
To say your Storm/Elec can out Tank MOST Tanks is a very ignorant and conceited thing to say...and I as a Tank take offense to that.
Sure...go ahead and say you can "Tank" when needed but do not outright state that you are better than most Tanks at doing what Tanks are made to do. -
Whoa! Ms Paragon City 2 years running, Congrats Cass!

[Plasma Shield] Wait, what?
I think I've settled on a DM/FA, and an Elec/SS, I just lack names for both and costumes for 1... and I need to wait for some 50s to finish selling off their stuff so I can kick them off to other servers to free up some space. -
Hehe, and yet I still don't have one.... Prolly one of the things that I'll roll when I ship a couple toons off server, and I'll take the elec in tank, elec/ss form. Dinking around with multiple builds for each... I haven't thought a toon out this much before even making one in a long time...

JU is, in theory, a more family oriented version of JFA2010.

I'm known as a bit of a scrapper nut, but I've been off for a while playing crazy, weird things like "Blasters" and "Controllers" and *whispers* even "Defenders". I have a fire armor scrapper, an elec armor brute (not really played it since the Energize change though), and several DM scrappers.
The DM/FA combo is something I've been thinking about for a while, 2 self heals, 2 damage buffs, damage aura, 2 AoE -end/+end powers. It just sounds like fun. I was talking about this to someone, and they said "Well, why not a DM/Elec then?" And that's something that hadn't really occurred to me... it has a lot of the same credentials, damage aura, 2 heals, 2 +end AoEs, and it has +rech, and pseudo KB prot included. Visually, I think elec looks better than FA as well.
Now, I've got all sorts of scrappers, all very survivable, some great farmers, some great at ST, done the RWZ challenge on at least 3, soloed some pylons, AVs, etc. I'm not terribly concerned with said new toon being a total badass, though I will devote a lot of thought later on to tweaking a min-max build for it (and might kick myself if I discover then that there was something about the other I would have liked more). Since I doubt it'll exceed my other scrappers at any specific thing, I was thinking I'd focus on just /fun/, an "all around" good scrapper, but I can't help myself from thinking things through before rolling one. Any synergies between the two sets I may have missed? Any experience with either set? Comments on what would be more fun? I'm not really looking for builds, as much as a discussion how they play similarly/differently, and so on. -
Quote:No. It's a subjective decision of the players. The question is not that much about whether purples and rares should be expensive or not, but how expensive they should be. 100 mil, 1 bil or 2 bil? There is no right answer on this issue. It's a subjective decision of the dev.
Quote:In fact, this discussion never ends no matter what the price is. Let's say if the drop rates are higher such that EnD_Reitanna feels that it's ok, there will be other people come up and say that they don't play as much as EnD_Reitanna, and the the drop rates should be further raised. Maybe till we get to the point that everyone can fully purple out, then people will start to complain that the game is too easy and nothing for them to do.
Quote:I do apologize Mac. I just got a MSTF badge instead. (Typing between missions).
I didn't realise I NEEDED a purpled and PVP IOed character to do so...
Quote:What?Last month, I started playing a L50 character again I hadn't touched in a while. He's a BS/Inv scrapper - hardly a massive farming character, right? He had 400M inf from where I last played him a fair bit around I9-I10. He now has 1.65B inf.
So please, tone down the hyperbole.
Assuming the 3 mill inf earned is correct for "a TF", you've neglected common recipe drops, commonly another million, rare salvage, heck, even uncommon or common salvage sometimes, can easily add in 1-4 more million currently, set recipe drops, 100k-20million, and you never include the possibility for a purple drop, or the easy money from the recipes the TF gave you. So... pretty much all rewards except for the smallest bracket of your earnings, the straight up inf drops. -
Grats to the winners, thanks to Pum, and Hell Toupe is just amazing.
