Update:
I went to my local micro center and found the cheapest 600w psu i could find(was running a 475). $30!! I just popped it in and it booted up on the first button press and coh is functioning normally. I guess it was a combination of the power surge and the possible fact that i just didn't have enough power output for my recent upgrades. Thanks all that responded. I really appreciate the second opinions!

Good thought but i do have a circuit breaker in this house. We get the surges once every 6 or so months or so and on top of that all the rest of my devices work out of the wall or plugged into any strip. (monitor, tv, ps3, wall fan, alaram clock, phone, but i never run more then 2) It just seems wierd that it works when it wants and only affects coh playability. Im assuming it has something to do with the power being supplyed to the GPU? Cause this problem also happens in safe mode.

It is a protector as for it does have a fuse in it. Also i have tried other protectors but they were all from my house. So maybe there is a pattern or maybe i am trying real hard to not realize the fact that i have to spend money.

Hello, I am running a Frankenstein box that i keep upgrading as things get old and/or break. I have had my current MB for about 3 years now (biostar with a n-force 4 chipset). Every time i would lose power or have a power surge it would mess up the playability of CoH upon rebooting. The game will play and function normally but be in slow motion. When i type the showfps command it gives me a normal reading. This problem would normally go away when i would re-seat the video card(i have used 3 video cards with this MB and it has happened with each) but for some reason my problem is not being resolved. With further diagnostics i figured out that when the box is plugged straight into the wall outlet, it functions fine. No slowdown what so ever but the moment i plugged it back into the surge(or any other surge) it does the same slow motion thing. There are also times when i press the power buttons and nothing happens, there are also times where it will turn on but give me no video and most of the time it just works. Im thinking it might be an inconsistency with the PSU but i would love a second opinion from people with more experience. Thanks!

Would also like to add that any other program, game or device functions fine all the time.

Hello all. During this past week i have been running TF's for the Task Force Commander accolade. (You might have seen me advertising under my current toon, Triped) It has come down to last one and i saved the worst (IMO) for last. I will be running this TF at around 6pm tonight if any one needs it. I would perfer to bring higher lvl toons to speed it up (and make it easier). Hello. I am G-reen Spot, a 5 year vet. I don't post much but any one from the olden days of triumph will know who i am. I am writing this post to inform any one who cares of a little SG i am starting up called "The PvE Experience." My goal is to obtain a decently sized group of regulars that are sick of all the AE farms and try to run some normal content. Don't get me wrong, I'm not against AE farms at all. I'm just really bored with them. So, with that I encourage any one, with any toon, of any level on hero side to send me a global tell (@g-reen spot). As for prestige concerns, i won't require any one run in SG mode. (unless we decide as a group to do it for TP reasons). Thank you all for your time and i hope we can get something started soon because i actually caught myself looking at reviews for CO.....
