A thought I had on the way to work made me giggle but I would hope it never got instituted for the griefing it could cause:

If a character is defeated by a zombie, they are resurrected after five seconds with full health and endurance. However, they are under a confuse effect that lasts until the end of the invasion. A temporary costume (similar to the Halloween costumes) is also placed on the character that makes them look like one of the invading zombies.

So in the grand tradition of zombie movies, if one of your mates gets splatted by the undead, they then rise and attack you.

Daft I know, never going to happen but it made me smile just thinking about it.

We are currently testing a new version of the game on the Training Room that includes a number of refinements and corrections. One of the corrections is to properly make the Invention Origin Enhancement called: Gaussian's Synchronized Fire-Control: Chance for Build Up a Unique IO. It has always been intended that this IO should be Unique and only be able to be slotted once. However, a bug with the Enhancement has allowed it to be slotted more than once.

The build that is currently in public testing on the Training Room (read the patch notes of that version here) will correct this error. There are very few users who have this IO slotted more than once in their characters. If they wish to retain the IO they will need to respec and remove it before the patch, version 17.20080723.3T, goes live. While the build is still subject to additional testing, we currently anticipate this version will go Live early next week (August 4th or later).

Our apologies for any inconvenience caused by this change and our thanks for our users understanding.

And personally I think this is a good thing. For example, my main has done, and used, all three Respec Trials, has used all my vet Respecs and I hate farming (Doing it that is... I have no objection whatsoever to farmers) so I don't have wads of Inf lying around and if I did I'd spend it on things I need more anyway.

If I need another respec I either need to a) Wait another 10 months for my 48 month vet respec, b) Wait for a possible freespec with the next issue or c) spend the price of a pint and a half of beer (which I wouldn't drink anyway) to get one. So with that in mind I can't see any problem with this!

On Thursday, July 31st we will be doing a brief test of the 2008 Halloween Event on the Training Room Test Server at 1:30 PM Pacific and running approximately 2 hours. Along with previous year’s Trick or Treating we are also including a massive Zombie Apocalypse!

Zombie Apocalypse!

During the above testing time on the Training Room, be wary for the uneasy dead – they may assault any region in the game at any time! For those familiar with the Rikti Invasions, the Zombie assaults function in much the same manner. After the Halloween event has concluded, there will still be a period of an hour or more of occasional Zombie activity.

Apocalypse Associated Badges

There are a number of badges associated with fighting off hordes of Zombies. These badges correspond to overcoming each different Zombie type (Minions, Lieutenants, Bosses and Elite Bosses) in certain numbers for each type.

Trick or Treating

Like the previous years Halloween Events, while the event is running players will be able to investigate various doors throughout zones that are level appropriate for their characters to either receive a naughty Trick (the spawning of a number of different critters) or a special Treat. The Trick or Treating aspect has changed slightly from previous years. Treats can be Inspirations, Event Salvage or Temporary Powers / Costumes. For more details (spoilers) about last year’s Halloween Event, visit the excellent player created resource Paragonwiki.

We have made some adjustments to Trick or Treating based on your feedback from previous years. For this test, we would like your feedback about how often Tricks or Treats are given out, as well as the frequency you can Trick or Treat, and the spawn sizes encountered when you get a Trick while part of a group. The current parameters are as follows: A person can only click on a door once every 5 minutes. When they click the door, their name is added to a list kept on the door. If their name is on the list, they can't use that door. That list is cleared every 5 minutes. There is a 10 second timer preventing you from clicking another door immediately. Spawns will spawn according to the team size of the player opening the door. If the spawns have no one to fight for a period of time, they move to a door and leave. If they can't get to a door, they will just fade out.

Plus i think there was a survery or what people said about how much they willing to pay and from what i remember for when buy new slots was talked about it was around £5.99 for one and a bunch for £20

As I had no prior warning I was unable to sort any alternative methosd of payment in time for the DXP weekend. The Customer Service on show (ie zero) has killed off any enthusiasm I had for the game. Looking at the other payment options:

Credit Card: No thanks, never had one and never want one, would rather pay with money I have.

Paysafe: Due to the denominations these come in the price of a subscription would increase, no thanks

Paypal: Jump through hoops and give Paypal access to my bank account, no thanks

Game time cards: Not as widely available as people seem to believe, Several online stores are out of stock and none of the shops in my local town have any (plus it costs train fare for me to get there increasing the price of subs) No Thanks

So, two accounts lost when people are already complaining about lack of people on the server, that can't be a good thing. But anyway I'm enjoying myself playing DDO.
