Cherokee. Until your somewhat confusing post, nobody in this thread was discussing sex. We were disussing sexual identity and people using that to group together. The two are rather different.

Seeing as 99% of people doing that sort of thing are both usually straight AND the same sex, I really don't think it matters much...

It does indeed refer to font lady parts in the UK, if you mean the F word that sounds like "nanny". And the C word, at least here, is one of the most offensive swear words we have! Though I guess in the younger generation that might be changing as you do tend to hear it being bandied about a lot.

Thankfully, I'm not of the younger generation... I'll be 40 in November!

Some people just don't have a clue...

I might consider that on a NEW char, but not my main. She's been established in RP since June 2005, and just about every hero side RPer on Union has at least heard of her name by now, even if their chars have not.

I guess for the same reason the word "Fist" was censored for a while.. Which kinda annoyed one of the EU players, who's global and char name were "Burning <censored>!"

We've already read the thread thanks. It's about people of certain sexual identies segregating or grouping based on their sexual identities and the desire to be able to easily find people they can relate too rather than potential abusive idiots, not about sex.

I think you're the one who needs to re-read it...

Hardly surprising, given American beer. If you let that stuff warm up so that you can actually taste it properly instead of just freezing your taste buds, you'd never drink it!

It's like having a coke after the can has been inside a hot car for a few hours... URGH!!!

Gods, you're not STILL carping on about that are you?

Are you ever actually going to bring some proof of your claims to the boards, or are you just gonna carry on making unjustified claims that Defiant died thanks to a technical problem that gave Union a DXP weekend?
  12. A server list merger has been suggested on the old EU boards for quite some time now, but I don't see it happening anytime soon, tbh. There are several legal issues they need to resolve with regards to data sharing between the EU/US first.

They're not insurmountable, far from it! But because they chose to split the companies as they did, they have regulations to follow which involves piles of red tape and costs. Right now, it's probably cheaper for them to leave well enough alone, especially as NCSoft aren't exactly rolling in the cash right now.

Hopefully, at some point they'll actually get all this done and then we can have a merged server list, but don't go holding your breath.

    That is all.
But... Half the fun is in seeing if you can get the biscuit out WITHOUT it falling apart! The other half is getting it wrong and scooping the bugger out with a spoon.

HobNobs are no good for this! They're too sturdy!

At what point does my sexuality become a question of fitting in within the game?

They like superheroes, they like MMO's. I like superheroes, I like MMO's. Therefore I fit in on the ONLY relevant points in the context of a superhero MMO. Just because they are attracted to the same sex is of little to no relevance. Hell, it's not even relevant for them to know what sex I am, or age, or country of origin, or ANYTHING except that, by evidence of my presence alone, I like at least 2 of the same things they do.

Like Shadowe (and just everyone else I know in this game), I couldn't care less if you're gay, straight, transgendered, black, yellow, green, a psychopath or even French (j/k!). You like superheroes, you like MMO's. That makes you a person I'll probably enjoy gaming with. Nothing else matters.

That's your own fears that caused that, not the people you were interacting with. You can hardly blame the folks you were gaming with for you being too scared to share personal details with them.

People either accept you for who you are, or not. If it's the latter, that's their problem, not yours.

I said she's a hybrid. She's actually a blending of a female human, a male cat and a (sexless?) Kheldian. She's gay because at the time I created the character my wife suggested it (and before she actually became the hybrid she now is) and I thought "why not?". I think she just didn't want me getting up to any shenanigans as a male character with female characters. Go figure.

She's also loosely based on one of my best female friends in the world, who also happens to be a lesbian, and the girl who introduced me to my wife.

Those aren't true mushy peas! Those are processed marrowfat peas that have been squished.

TRUE mushy peas are dried peas that have been soaked in a bicarbonate of soda solution for 24 hours, then boiled until they reach a pale green mush, then served with a nice roast dinner, with gravy. Delicious!

likewise, I always thought biological discriptions a little pretentious in a primarily visual medium. (you have a scar, pick a face with a scar... dont just tell me about it in a bio, ya know?)
I refer to things not immediately doable in the char creator. Such as piercings (my main has a belly piercing, so would be visible in certain clothing) or tattoo's. Accent is another (as my main is British), and other things such as being a psi blank, so telepaths needn't bother thinking they can read her. (There's a decent reason for that too, roleplayed out over a series of several months, and not just an arbitrary "get outta my head" thing to annoy folks)

For anything else, get to know her just like you would anyone else in the real world. Stuff that's on the wiki is mainly there as a memory aid for people. I really wouldn't expect people who don't know her to bother reading any of it; and even then, only if they're interested.

so, Im curious... how has everyone broken down their character's history, personality, look, relationship status, sun sign, shoe collection and PuR water filter so that it all fits into their ID card in game....
feel free to put as many of them as you want... I love to read the cliff notes
I don't put any biography in there. All I have in there are the chars name (if not a secret ID), their age, and any distinguishing features. Plus any extra info needed for characters with flangesense. Anything else you want to know, that's what roleplay is for, or the wiki.

Then why even bother identifying the SG as a gay one? Seems rather pointless to me and only serves to make yourselves stand out. Attention seeking for want of a better phrase.

Folks, it's a computer game. Just what does a persons sexuality have to do with beating up bad guys, hmm?

Of what POSSIBLE importance is it? THEY'RE NOT REAL! They're characters in a computer game, and sometimes a comic. They don't HAVE a sexuality, because they're figments of someone's imagination.
