  1. Will all these gosh darn pancakes keep us from being auto-logged off the forums?

Yes, but it's not the same. Can't talk to her, can't team with her, can't see her using her awesome bow skills, and your level 1 (or 2, depending) heroes can't pose for a picture with her after the two of you have kicked some contaminated booty. It's a poke in the eye, is what it is. A kick in the rear. A sock in the jaw. A bird in the hand. Er. A wet willie in the ear. Yeah.
  5. Like, wow, man, that picture is like, ya know, huge. Colossal. Brobdingnagian, even.
  6. I can't believe no one has mentioned the greatest Paragon City Hero of all - Flower Knight! I am sorely tempted to post screenshots of all my fledgling heroes who have posed with Flower Knight in the dawn of their careers - alas!

Ghost Widow looks kinda cool, too, but she is no Flower Knight!
Neither is Mako, or Nemesis, or Countess Crey, or the Carnies, or the Vahzilok, or the Circle of Thorns, or the Clockwork, or the Rikti, or the Lost, or the Tsoo...
  7. Flower Knight: + INFINITY!!!

    Ahem.

    Carry on.
  8. Go back and re-examine posts 16, 18, and 19 and you will see that a point was lost somewhere along the way. Statesman yet LIVES!

    However...

NOW he is not only merely dead but really most sincerely dead.

  17. Potential high prices aside, the most disappointing thing about the CoH version of the F2P/hybrid deal is that there's no way to get points unless you fork over cash, either by subscribing or buying them from the store.

In another hybrid model game, subscribers get a number of points per month AND can acquire more points in the course of playing the game - plus! - free players can also acquire points in the course of playing the game.

As of last night, I had accumulated 6010 points over there. Most of that came from being subscribed for several months, of course, but a considerable portion of it came from just playing the game and earning points along the way. The more I play, the more I earn. I think I've only spent points twice: once for extra storage (I still need more), and last night (95 points) to unlock a certain skill four levels early. Giddy up.

So, anyway, anyone have a theory as to why there's no way to earn free points here? Would doing so immanentize the eschaton?
  18. In answer the question posed in the thread's title, no. I am, however, altogether tired of being auto-logged off the forums. Five times yesterday. Once today. So far. If I could get 10 Paragon Points for every time I get auto-logged off the forums - why, I could (hyperbolically speaking) buy the COMPANY within a year!

You beta you beta you bet!

    Faceplate!

Sorry, GG, no matter how strenuously you ignore it, Statesman has been COMPROMISED and in fact has been COMPROMISED all along. No amount of will change it. He is, potentially, a worse threat to Earth Prime than *anybody* else.

The only thing that can save him is a major retcon.

    The Dead Pool

It's their chance to do something BIG.

7 of 8 Survivors: "Say there, Statesman, it's come to our attention that you... may not be yourself, and maybe you never have been yourself since you became Statesman."

Statesman - "Balderdash! You guys are just jealous!"

7 of 8 Survivors: "Oh, yeah? We'll see about that!"

Statesman: "You'll never take my Precious powers!"

Big fight ensues. States mops the floor with them all. States declares he's taking over, for the good of the world.

The 7 of 8 Survivors call on US to help. Which brings us to:

Issue 23: The Dark Statesman Civil War Saga, in which...

Statesman Takes over the World! Who's Side are YOU On? Hero/Villain vs Hero/Villain in the Biggest Event ever in MMOs! Culminating in...

    The Dark Statesman Trial
, at the end of which, if you manage to defeat Statesman, Statesman says: "OMGZORZ! You guys are right! I'm a pawn! You've got to help me get rid of my Precious... I mean, these EVIL POWERS before I fly off and eat a planet of broccoli people!"

    Which leads us to:

The Well of the Powers Trial
in which we directly confront the Well, and States sacrifices himself to give us a chance to defeat it. With the Well defeated (probably not destroyed, but, at least for the moment, barred from our reality/dimension until the stars are wrong again and all that) all Incarnates lose their Well-derived abilities and are returned to 'normal' power levels.

    And the peasants rejoice.

Meanwhile, over in the Rogue Isles, a de-powered and broken down Recluse, while digging through trash barrels in search of food, finds a copy of the Wellanomicon...

Could be some sort of energy/light thing going on with the body - visible waves, pulses, whatever - that entrances/enthralls/hypnotizes the tanker's erstwhile opponents until the effect fades (or they are attacked).
