  1. None of the teams I was on were full. They were all different numbers.

The Protector crash was, I believe, unrelated to the Incarnate Trials.
As per the tells I received, the entire league was booted.
  3. Someone just mentioned this happens when someone joins while already in progress. I didn't realize it, but all 3 of the ones that have booted me have all had people joining while in progress.
  4. Sorry Zwill, I'll elaborate a bit more.

On 3 different attempts to run Lambda, at 3 different points during the trial, the mysteriously gets booted back to Atlas. Each claiming the UI showed them as quitting the team. Obviously they hadn't. Some claimed to have watched as the team quit one by one before they themselves were booted to Atlas.

Here is what I saw in one of the ones this happened in, copied directly from the Global tab (I removed names so as not to tick anyone off):

    MemberA has joined the team
    You have quit your team
    MemberB has quit the team
    MemberA has quit the team
MemberC is the new team leader
    MemberD has quit the team
    MemberE has quit the team
    MemberF has quit the team

I then attempted to rejoin, as it gives that option in the LFG UI and this was the message:

Error: Instance could not be found. It may have been completed or abandoned.
  5. Premade team. Just happened a third time.

It's also completely random. Could happen at any time during the Trial.
  6. Does anyone around here know if this is in fact a bug, or is it WAI? (Which I highly doubt)
  7. There were 2 teams in a league. We had cleared the other area, taken out the turrets and had cleared the courtyard.

I was explaining the strategy for how the inside area works when all of a sudden, I was ported to Atlas. It said I had quit the team. I obviously hadn't since I was typing instructions. The mouse was nowhere near the quit button.

The rest of the league had sent me tells asking me if I got booted, they all had as well. The entire league allegedly "quit" the team one by one.
  8. I'm having the same issue. The forums either don't load at all, or they take a ridiculous amount of time. Then they're fine and load ridiculously fast for a while, then back to the same thing again. Slow and or non-responsive at all.

For the record, I'm using Google DNS as my primary and secondary.
  9. For some reason I don't see a picture at all. *shrug*

And for anyone who actually needed to look at the date to determine this wasn't real....just wow.

Sorry devs, this is definitely a lame April Fools.

    No I'm not.
  11. As a side note, I have 4gigs of RAM and still experience this from time to time. This FPS hit only happens when I'm working in the AE mission creation part of the system. This is not a computer issue, there is a leak in the game. Each time it's happened, the game has gone from 1.3-1.4GB ram usage to 1.7 or more. It spans across 2 different video cards, and it also happened after I freshly installed Windows recently.
  12. /unloadgfx does lower the memory usage, but by a stupidly small amount. The FPS stays the same at next to nothing as well. Within seconds the memory creeps back up again.

There are times when I've been in the AE creator for a long time and nothing has happened. That's why I think it's someone specific in there that's causing it. Especially if I go sifting through the maps, it's only a matter of time before the memory is eaten.
  13. This happens to me from time to time as well when editing/creating AE missions. AE causes a severe memory leak in CoH. If you pay attention to the cityofheroes.exe process while playing with AE stuff, you'll notice it shoots up well above 1.6 and even 1.7gigs of memory being used. After which my FPS drops to next to nothing.

That is where the issue lies. At least for me it did. I haven't found a way around it. Sometimes it doesn't happen so I suspect there is either a map, texture or something within the AE creation system that causes the memory usage to spike, and stay there.

I wasn't really looking at it from this angle to be honest. The person who had built my current build did so as to pretty much make my endurance bar not move at all. I've never ever had an end issue on this toon. I guess I just assumed the majority of that was due to some of the sets etc

Most attacks have a damage type and a vector, so you won't need both typed defenses and vector defenses.
Interesting, I didn't know this. Thanks for the info I'll see if I can't figure out a way to swap out the defenses with regards to this new info

Right. I'm not looking to be a god against them, but I know WP can definitely stand up to them whereas right now, I can barely at all. The second a couple of them -Def me I go down faster than a dress on prom night!

Again, I wasn't even thinking about it from this angle. I do use AE to farm the demons so you're right, I should look into other critters I come from a Fire/Kin as my main, so I'm pretty much used to demons LOL
  15. Here is attempt #2. I looked around here in the Tank forums a bit and took some advice from some of the other WP threads. I brought down some of the defenses, while others I couldn't seem to bring down too easily without completely flooring it. I moved some slots around as well. Thanks again in advance!

  16. Thanks for the suggestions Syntax. I can't say I agree with some of it (That could very well be because I'm not as educated with all of the sets and how they work with one another yet), but definitely appreciate the information.

The above build is miles ahead of my current build so either way I'm winning. Some of the more obscure choices, such as the purple's in Stalagmites are there for specific reason. Such as the 4% end recovery.

I see you're suggesting I lower some of the positional Defenses. This confuses me slightly. I get pretty much slaughtered at the moment by pretty much any mob that debuffs defense. This is because I barely have any on my current build so this was one of the reasons I worked towards those. As for Fire/Cold, I plan on farming Demons and thought the Fire Defenses was a reasonable conclusion?

I'll play with it some more and see what I come up with. I'll post a newer build for more suggestions In the meantime, I appreciate your opinion and anyone else who'd like to offer up advice!
  17. Hey guys!

I've had this Tank for a long time and really enjoy playing her. The problem is, I know she's lacking severely. So I pulled up my socks and took my first attempt in Mids to see what I could come up with. This build shows significant increases over my current live build (Which someone made for me way back when).

I would absolutely love some advice as to whether this is in fact decent, and or what could be changed. My goal is to keep my damage as high as possible (I've currently also taken Musculature for my Alpha) and to bring my Defenses up from basically nothing to as high as possible. I know there's a balance I need to try to adhere to, and I think my Regen/Recovery is up pretty high still while my Resist has stayed ok as well.

Anyway, here it is! I look forward to your opinions!

  18. Not sure about your issue particularly, but a couple of things to note.

I've noticed several times over the last couple of weeks that sometimes when I hit enter to chat, the input box lights up but nothing typed appears. If I hit enter two more times, once to come out of chat and once more to reopen it and start typing, what I had typed in previously appears before what I'm currently typing. It's quite an annoying little bug. I'll have to /bug it, keep forgetting.

Also, welcome to the Windowed Mode club I've been playing Windowed since I set up my second monitor a few years ago. Makes navigating around outside of CoH so much easier without the constant flickering between windows and having the monitor black out in between etc

My real worry is that Issue 21 will be more of the same. Heck... 22, 23, 24... just worried that this is the wave of the future.
It would be nice to hear different. I don't need to hear anything specific. But would be nice to know that something other than Preatoria or Incarnate content (and by that I mean stories, not a new "system") are coming... and soon.
And for the record I have been taking a break. I've been playing other games where I can wear capes and tights. I do not think it is a better game. But there are stories there, missions there, that I haven't run 14 million times already, and playing doesn't feel like a grind.

Edit: I walked away and started to think about this. I do not need a break. What I do need is content I care about. If the game, and the majority of players has gone a new direction then so be it. But just because I don't like the current direction, does not mean I need a break. Quite honestly I've been hanging around hoping for something that interests me since Issue 13 (I am rather patient).
Just saying that I hope that Praetoria and Incarnates are not all we will see in the future. Give us something other than TF grinds, please.
I can appreciate that you're not happy with the content we've received. I can also appreciate that you just want to know if there's anything in the future that you will find interesting.

But what I find ironic is, you claim you don't need a break from the game, yet you haven't found anything interesting in the game since i13 (Which by the way I find extremely hard to believe). That's 5 issues that have come and you're telling me that there is absolutely nothing at all that has interested you?

There's obviously something keeping you here. Might be time to re-evaluate what that is.
  20. Your current GPU info isn't really necessary. You'd be better off posting your other system specs
  21. Little update:

The card I have is factory overclocked. I ran some stress tests and they all came back perfect. I suspect there's something CoH is doing to cause the issue. In the meantime, I've done a little bit of tweaking. My temps were a little on the high side, but nowhere near bad but I knew I had room to play. The first thing I did was renamed the piggs folder so a fresh batch could be downloaded (I've been playing since 2005, and always moved the files over to any new installs etc). Fired the game up and it looked to be running fine, then bang out of nowhere GPU drivers crash.

So I went ahead and installed EVGA Precision. I know that drivers crashing can be caused by overclocking (factory or after market) so I decided to try that. First I lowered myself from core clock of 765MHz to 705MHz. Opened up the game, ran through multiple mobs in Praetoria and not a single blip. Everything was perfect. Yay!

I got ballsy and decided to burn the candle at both ends. I upped the clock to 755MHz (10 below it's default clock) and low and behold, no crashing. Temps stable at 53 degrees under 100% load.

I'll play some more and see if it crashes again, and I'll update if it does. But as it stands it looks like it's finally stabilized. Thought I'd share my experience
  22. Hey guys, if you've seen my previous thread you'll notice I upgraded my PSU as well as my GPU last week.

I've been having a fantastic time as all of my issues had ceased since replacing those components. However, I have come across a different issue.

I can play for hours on end blue side or red side, without so much as even a hiccup. But as soon as I go into Praetoria with any of my toons, it's only a matter of minutes before the video card driver crashes and I have to end task on the game.

Windows was freshly installed last week prior to buying the new video card. So obviously, the drivers for the video card are freshly installed as well and they are the only drivers that have ever been installed since formatting. Here's a CoH Helper log to show you my settings. If anyone has any suggestions, they'd be greatly appreciated!

  23. Latest update....

So I got my hands an nVidia 216 to test, it doesn't need to connect directly to the PSU. The machine instantly booted up without issue. I took that to mean it was either the PSU or the GPU. So I went and spent a little cash >.>

Bought a 750w PSU and a GTX 460 Lol. Machine booted up fine recognizing the card no issue. Installed latest drivers and going to try the game now.

Thanks everyone for your help and suggestions, it's greatly appreciated!
