The forums are full of people maligning AE, yet when you log on, where are you people? Can't find or make a PUG for anything these days. Not even a PUG comprised of all you posters looking down your noses at the AE farmers.

While I can understand that his method of play would be annoying, I think most of you who are thumbing your noses are missing the point of the research. The point was to study the norms and dynamics of an internet society. Don't confuse the aspect of the study the newspaper chose to report with the full study. Internet culture/society studies are generally interesting, telling, and informative, and have been done by far more than one professor. The point wasn't to show the equivalent of "caged animals bite when you poke them". It was to show "people act like X and form societies like Y because of Z in this particular subgroup".

I was able to fix this by opening the offending files using "get info" and "unclicking" the Locked box.

I keep getting this message when I attempt to start COH. It runs the updater, downloads the patch, and when it tries to apply the patch, it fails with the following warning. "Updater Warning: Can't delete file c:\coh/piggs/bin.pigg some other program has it open! Aborting!"
As far as I can tell, this isn't true. I've tried rebooting and searching for any process to no avail. This isn't the first time I've had this problem. In the past, rebooting has solved the issue. I just assumed some cryptically named zombie process was locking the file, but no luck. Any suggestions.
