Another thing I forgot to mention. On the main concern of actually stopping GM griefing, assuming we have several random or public GM teams then it is hard for the eyes in the sky and for the people on the floor on TS coordinating the raid to tell which GMs are unaggroed and just walking - risky but not aggroed - and which are being faught efficiently, if the GM wins it will rampage in some cases, also and most importantly, true griefers could easily use the activity to mask their attempts to ruin the raid for everyone and easily put a stop to the raid. I haven't seen one raid wipe where people have started again, personally I would, but most people don't have the time or inclination.

Also, it's hard to differentiate between a small GM team trying to tackle a problem and a small group of people trying to lure a GM to the bubble.

Can I just ask, why do we have a GM team now, when the initial idea was rejected?

    [/ QUOTE ]

The idea of a public one was rejected for various reasons.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Which was?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Mob mentality. Plight Trawler is a close friend of the Inner Monkey and The Paragon Defenders. What's more, he's on Teamspeak, assembles the team only from those that we trust and is pretty much private about what he's doing where.

It is highly risky to have a forum organised team that may or may not broadcast about attacking GM's and then have some of the Hold group peeling off to deal with them or have mass attackers in the jelly. What's more, we can't be having with needing to send /tell's with lag flying around.

    It's just too risky.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I can see where your coming from, but, with all them spare tanks, scrappers and blaster etc. Just standing around wouldint it be good to give us something to do?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Having experienced a fair few Hami raids with an attack phase, that many power going off even near the bubble is very bad.

Probably has something to do with the fact that all hero support rolls are on average at least 25% strong than a comperable villain support roll.

Not just my opinion tbh.. the sheer lack of villains in most PvP zone is pretty much testament to the fact. Even the strongest villain team would have much of a hope against a team of BS regens (current build of the month from what I saw in Sirens last night) when supported by even 1 healer.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Yes because buffs like Forge or Frostwork are bad. I've happily scrapped down a team of buffed Hero's on my Stalker with villain side buffs. I've seen a team of Dominators rip through far superior numbers in Bloody Bay whilst still on DO's and I've seen buffed Brutes rip though Tanks with apparent ease. Villains are a lot more team friendly, but therefore less solo friendly.

People that immediately go "OMG HEROES ARE OVERPOWERED BECAUSE OF DEFENDERS" really need to play in a good balanced villain team.
  6. [ QUOTE ]
Villains don't show up as heroes are generally a lot stronger in PvP. Getting pounced on a pounded to the floor repeatedly by toons who attacks you can't hope to combat or resist is not fun.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I'm of the opinion that your opinion is one of the things wrong with PvP. Villain teams can be fundamentally stronger than Hero teams. Villain players just seem to have a complete inability to play support.

Oh now I get it why you were in Sirens last night

    [/ QUOTE ]

Actually, we were there for the PvP, just on those toons we don't really need SO's so there's not much else to get. :\

More Test server events to open up some cross server PvP would be good imo so

    2 Test Sever plix

  9. The Paragon Defenders broke our coalition of old as Sanity Inc. was so inactive and would be interested in setting a new one up.

That is, if you plan on maybe doing some PvP.

If this goes ahead, I will be rolling a toon on Defiant just to play in this.

I look forward to beating you again, Jum.

Pffft. You only won because Infy is a n00b!

    What to roll though?

    Something with speedos.

...As for the arena, you can fight anyone at any level, as they can be exemped down too the level range your in. Unfortunatly, there's not much call for low level arena PvP, so you may want to wait it out when you get too a higher level.

    Hope this helps, Jum.

    [/ QUOTE ]
If you're on Defiant theres this suggestion here for a bit of Level 21 Arena action.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Even if you're not on Defiant, roll a new toon. 21 isn't too hard.

  14. I think The Paragon Defenders may be interested, lemme have a check on our Salvage levels later.

    What about:

All fights at Level 21, any levels can enter, no AT limit, heroes and villains allowed in the same team?

Would make for some interesting tactics.

    [/ QUOTE ]

U mean lvl 21's only? If so that may be a lil' bit tricky 2 get sufficient numbers

    [/ QUOTE ]

    He said any levels. :P

Fights take place at 21, auto-exemplar.

The one thing dark has going for it is AoE heal, which boosts BG effectiviness a lot. Other than that... Not really better than poison for PvP.

    [/ QUOTE ]

What are you talking about?! Tar Patch is incredible if you have TP foe to get people onto it! -res, -jump and -fly means that it's really easy to just have your pets bash people up.

    [/ QUOTE ]

And the ToHit Debuff on Darkest Night. Oh, and the ranged Stun. And the +Res from Shadowfall, which when combined with the PPP Shield (if it's res based), which is nothing to be sniffed at.

What? Why would PvPers say nasty things towards RPers? That's just silly. I personally have nothing against RPers, and till tonight, havn't heard anything about PvPers disliking them.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I've heard stuff about it before. Anyone remember the Galaxy Girl Nuke... that was PvPers.

    [/ QUOTE ]

But to the best of my knowledge that wasn't because they were RPers. Just because that was a convienient large gathering of players that was pretty much garunteed to be there.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Easier to get to than say the large gathering under the Atlas Statue?

    [/ QUOTE ]

GG has people turning up on a specific time/date. Atlas doesn't, GG is easier to predict.
  19. Was pretty amusing to be honest, I don't think people were threatening to leave over Roleplayers, but more the "apparent" change that made PvP not available in Sirens.

Also, I got some pretty good PvP out of it. More pliz.

Wakes, uhm... u see you know the "wakey enough next to hami crahses server issue" just i kind of did that before took the hive down with me! BWAHHAHA *coughs* sorry

    [/ QUOTE ]

You mean the one that's been fixed for months?

    Yeah, I know about that.
  21. [ QUOTE ]
May i suggest empath team, litteraly a team of empaths who rez people who die etc, and be the only people using Healing Aura so no more radiation aura thingys etc, or a team of 7 empaths who invite people who die in a bad place, tp and rez. So there isnt some people next to hami spamming "REZ PLZ!"

    [/ QUOTE ]

The invite-to-tp will overcomplicate matters, and as for the Res team just running about, a Dark Defender would do a much better job (mass res). To be fair though, while it may be usefull to a degree, if people bring a handfull of wakes it shouldn't be an issue imo.
