  1. Ahz,

Why don't you just change it so there is no real action for the up/down axis while running? In other words, for all the files in the run folder, bind space to +up, and x to nop, but don't start sprint, and don't bind_load_file anything. You'd still need to keep the files with the Y axis though, because you'll need them to gracefully change from flying with some combination using up or down, to running. For Example, if you are flying forward and down to land, then hit F, you want to start just running forward... If you just moved from FlyYZ to RunZ, however, and then release your X key, you'll try to go down (no big deal, I guess). So you use RunYZ to set space/x to just call the other files, but not to +up/+down. Basically, it's a one-way file that is used only so you can release the space bar or x and end in the correct mode.

Well, you can figure it out by looking better than I can explain it with words. They're your binds after all

This same kind of thing will be needed to smoothly transition from running forward to autorun.. you need a file so you can let go of W (and not do anything) in case you're holding it down when you press R.

Sorry for the reply in words... I know if I just made the changes and sent you the files it'd be easier, but I don't use the same keys as you, and I can't test here at work. So, I just give these word explanations instead of sending you confusing ESDF binds that haven't been tested

  2. 1. Stormbind
    Ice/Ice Science Blaster
    Server: Justice
Origin: Stormbind (original name unknown) went through a thoretical scientific process to have superhero powers, after having her family killed because of their mob ties. While she is quite happy what she has become, the major drawback of the experiment has been her icy breath; she wears a mask over her face to protect others from the chill which pours out when she opens her mouth.

    2. Jaradesse
    Empathy/Radiation Mutation Defender
    Server: Justice
Origin: Jaradesse was a student at Paragon University, working in the University's Particle Accelerator lab when the Ritiki attacked. While most died in the eruption at the lab, Jaradesse managed to survive, barely, and spent extensive time in the hospital. While in the hospital, Jaradesse discovered she could help heal the sick and wounded just by willing it. She was starting to think about a permanent job as a doctor, but when her eyes slowly began to change, and glow yellow, she hid from the world. After some serious soul-searching, and experimentation with her ability to shoot beams of radiation, Jaradesse has decided to help rid the world of villians, and help Paragon become the city it had been.
  3. Blue Volt the Lurker Returns!

Welcome back! Now all we need is for Sinabyss to come back. He started this revolution in binds, after all. You can even use the difference in key press and release to activate 2 powers with one keypress (1 Key 2 Powers ). You lurking out there, Sin?

Anyway, I've become a steadfast convert to your ESDF setup. Even just having a little bump on my keyboard to confirm I'm in the right place makes it worth it, and there is much less movement of fingers when I want to type some wiseass remark. So, I have modified Ahzurdan's binds to fit. I'm going to see what improvements are made here over the next few days, and mess around with them myself, and then I'll make sure to post a link to them, wherever they end up, when they're bug free and as smooth as possible.

Is there a place to buy the Natural Endurance Recovery DO for lvl 15? I think it's either the Nectanebo's Scroll (Nat Magic) or Protection Device (Nat Tech).

    [/ QUOTE ]

Nope, you have to wait until level 17 (they are level 20) and buy them from Talos Island or Independence Port.
  5. [ QUOTE ]

I can vouch that the current keybinds are stored server side. I transferred a character over to the Test Server and he showed up there with my custom binds already installed.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Sorry to be so anal, but I'm not convinced by that... Maybe the client stores them by character name? And even if you tested THAT by making 2 characters on different servers with the same name, and creating different binds for them, I'd still say "Maybe the client stores them by servername_charactername, but the Test Server does something different?" I saw something when reading about the test server, that if you deleted a character, it would break your keys when you logged in... can't find the post now, unfortunately.

Oh, one possibility which I just thought of before I hit the "submit" button... maybe the binds are stored server side, but just when logging in/out? Like Roaming Profiles in Windows. You log in, and the server sends you the binds you stored last time. During your play session, you make changes LOCALLY, but they're not propagated to the server. When you log OUT, whatever your current binds are, complete with changes, are sent to the server. This would not explain KarmaTrain's problems, but would explain why Ahzurdan's binds moved with him to the Test Server.

Let me explain a bit more why I say "It makes no sense to store them server side":

    - Storage Space - each character has to have a complete set of binds, many of which will be redundant from one character to the next. Not a big consideration, however, with the cheapness of huge disks, and the limited size of even big bind files.

    - Server Resources - I'm sure the programmers would prefer for the client to do everything that is possible without bothering the server. Why make an overworked server interpret the "x" key for each of thousands of users each with disk calls to find their binds, disk writes to change them, and memory for remembering them?

    - A lot of keys can do things that are server independent, like viewing angle, zoom etc. Why send this key info to the server (client supposedly doesn't know what this key means) just so the server can send back to the client to say "zoom out".

    - Network time - this is of course why KarmaTrain things they ARE server side, because of his disconnects. But would YOU do this if you were a programmer for a game with 1000s of clients connecting over limited bandwidth?

I don't mean to start a big argument here, but I'd need pretty compelling proof to make me think they did it this way. And I think if we say "Oh, KarmaTrain is just SOL because he has a slow connection" and stop trying to solve his problem, we're doing him a disservice.

So, in a return to constructive thought... KarmaTrain, have you checked your binds for typos and bugs? Maybe a missing " or $, or a space before or after $$ is causing problems. Maybe you could download binds, if you didn't already, from somebody that tested them and know they work on their system? Is anybody else having crashes when using these binds, but is fine when NOT using the binds?

And Ahzurdan, tried your binds last night and they work sweet Also interested in a Blastoff functionality, and a smooth transition from normal forward movement to autorun, but otherwise much less fragile than the other setup. I'll be looking at the best way to add these features too.

  6. Gnarly: Yeah, I'm sure that could be done. I could personally write a quick C/C++ implementation of this lightning fast -- but I don't handle programming in the Windows environment very well. Something tells me that distributing Linux binaries wouldn't be very well accepted here, though. The problem is that I've worked in Unix/Linux environments almost exclusively for the past six years. I don't even know where my old Visual Studio CDs are (or how dated they are).

If you're suggesting that I should just make something like this for myself, then I agree -- I'll probably write myself a nice little command line script to take a couple of inputs and generate them all for me once I have the functionality that I desire.
  7. Hi WeaponX,

Not to add more work for you, but could these files be made with a Visual Basic Program? I haven't used VB in a few years, but it seems to me that these files are so repetitive that you could make them with 2-3 nested FOR loops in VBasic.

You could have a simple interface that asked the user for their preferred key combos for cycling through the team. Then VB would crank out the files in the directory path of the user's choice, and voila. Certainly easier than you changing 245 files (egads!).

Something like this, but I haven't programmed in years, so the actual syntax is lacking, even if the basic algorithm is ok:

    For Team_size = 1 to 8
    For Position = 1 to Team_Size
    Filename$="Heal"+String$(Team_size)+"-"+String$(Position)
    Write(Filename$, bindline1here)
    Write(Filename$, bindline2here)
    Next Position
    Next Team_Size

Anyway, if I was up to speed on VB these days, I'd help you out, but unfortunately I don't have the software, and would have to relearn it if I did. Thought you might profit from the idea though.

But even if it's unrealistic to make this VB program, you've made a great bind here, and the first that seems to take variables (group size and your position in the group) input by the user. A little ingenuity that is stretching the limits of binds.

I dont feel shown up at all ahz. Like I have said before I consider this an on going discussion and am VERY happy there is now a solution that does not involve an inordinate amount of files.

    [/ QUOTE ]
I feel shown up, though! The problem is that I've felt that way for 80% of this thread... Every time I felt like I had a contribution to this topic, somebody else would post not only the idea I had, but a full set of binds with it already implemented. *cough*Wasabi*cough*

Oh, and ahzurdan: apply your heroic powers of streamlining here, please!
  9. [ QUOTE ]
Thanks for all the hard work.

Yes, please don't remove the C key completely. It will work much better for me than ~ with my setup.

    [/ QUOTE ]
No problem, I find this bind extremely useful for my Empath. It's quite annoying to accomplish all of this with a massive /bind setup when it could be easily implemented as a slash command with minimal in-game code (assumption on my part). Now that you mention the ~ setup conflict/worry/whatever, I think that I'll make it such that you can toggle between just 'C', just '~', and both 'C' and '~'.

    [ QUOTE ]
I haven't had a chance to try this, but what happens if team size decreases due to a disconnect? Do you have to change party size before it will "roll over" back to 1, or will you just have to hit C once for each person that dropped until you respecify?

    [/ QUOTE ]
The latter of the two will occur. The same thing will happen if you specify the party size to be greater than the actual party size or if you leave the initial default setup of a party size of eight and have a smaller party. If you're in a party of 7, in the 5th position, and the 4th person drops out, you'll have to hit 'C' twice to go from the 3rd person to the 6th person since you can't target yourself. Also note that the 5th person is now left out since that's the slot that you used to occupy. If multiple people drop, it gets even worse, so stay on top of things with these binds or you're going to have problems. Another thing, if this person isn't replaced in the group, you'll have to hit 'C' twice to go from the 6th person in the group to the 1st person in the group since it's still trying to target the 7th person in the group.
  10. I have a new version up, you can get it from the same place: http://web.utk.edu/~cjones7/CoH/Select.zip

What's new<ul type="square">[*][Alt + Numpad0]: Pressing this combination will "unload" the team_select /bind. It's currently impossible to reset the keys to whatever they were prior to running my setup, so it sets all keys to their default commands.[*]Tilde: Pressing the Tilde key (` or ~) now cycles forwards through teammates with the exact same functionality of the 'C' key. The combination [Shift + Tilde] will NOT cycle backwards through teammates as I found it too cumbersome.[/list]Fixes
I caught a few more typos and fixed them. Hopefully I didn't introduce 10 more with the addition of the Tilde key...

    Future Plans
After using the Tilde key implementation, I perfer it tenfold over using the 'C' key. I'm considering removing the 'C' key functionality by default, but adding a key combination that will enable it. I still want to release a version of this with a different installation directory because I pity anyone that wants to do so with this setup (245 files ).
  11. How do you make do without Superjump/Fly in places like Faultline?
  12. 1. Martin Thorne(Technology Blaster) - Justice
    Powers: Assault Rifle/Electricity Control - Fitness/Fighting
    Team: None
Brief Origin: The end-result of a genetic alteration experiment in his mother's womb by the Rikti, Martin's body dampens the powers of all those around him. Martin fights for justice and right using his newfound abilities, and weapons scavenged from those he has defeated. He has sworn to put an end to rampaging metas everywhere, and adds a notch to the stock of his dead father's shotgun with every one he takes down.

    2. The Black Leopard(Magic Tanker) - Guardian
    Powers: Invulnerability/Super Strength - Swiftness/Fitness/Stealth/Leaping
    Team: None
Brief Origin: The great great great great grand-daughter of a high priestess of Bastet, she has been granted all the powers of the feline kingdom. The strength of a tiger, the stealth of a leopard, the resilience of a lion, the speed of a cheetah, and the fashion sense and attitude of the typicial housecat.

I have several others, but these two are the ones I play most often.
  13. Mykal appeared suddenly in his twelfth story office just as abruptly as he he had left. It had been a long night.

He plopped down on the small, black leather couch, closing his eyes and massaging the bridge of his nose. The beginnings of a headache was trying to form. It usually helped when he did that.

The past couple of days had been quite eventful. He had several run ins with the Freakshow, busting up their operations all over the city. He shook his head at the thought of them. Their name fit them well. To use technology was one thing. To BE the technology, replacing limbs and body parts, just for the sake of gaining power....that was mental. Mykal recognized that being human, made in the image of God Himself, was the highest honor of any creation in the universe. Hands down. To pervert that....to twist that into....they had serious issues. That was putting it lightly.

But what disturbed him more than anything was the fact that the Paladins' arch nemesis, the Circle of Thorns, were building up their power base. Even more disturbing, the supposed lost city of Oranbega, which a majority believed to be some psychological ploy by them to instill hope in their members and fear in their enemies was not lost.

    He'd been there.

The city was filled with mystic portals, valleys, waterfalls, and a library he didn't have the time to actually peruse which was probably for the best. Everything the Circle touched was evil. The very thought of them filled him with anger and hatred. Yes. He hated them and everything they stood for.

Reaching over to the small table next to the couch, he grabbed his Bible. Opening it, his eyes instantly fell on Romans chapter 12, verse 9:

Let love be without dissimulation. Abhor that which is evil. Cling to that which is good.

He looked off. He couldn't let his hatred of the Circle, what they did, overwhelm. If he did, they'd win. He needed to take that excess passion and concentrate on something else.

That's when he thought of her.

    BEEP!

He looked down at his left forearm gauntlet. His security clearance papers had been approved. He hated to do this to her. Even in his thoughts. But, again, she was going to have to wait.

I loaded my old keybinds, played all night, loaded v2.2 again and boom, disconnects. Has no-one else experienced this?

    [/ QUOTE ]

I have not experienced it. I play all night with these binds with no problems. I have DSL, but I do infrequently notice some lag with the movement commands being sent to the server... ie. sometimes I don't hover right away, etc.

But do you know for a fact that binds are saved server side? That makes no sense to me. I thought that the client would sort out what we wanted to do, and just send the movement commands to the server (+forward, +right etc). It just makes no network-programming sense to send what keys are mapped to these fundamental functions.

  15. Glad we could help start your conversion from the dark side.
  16. Nilt, Mara: I'm glad that you all like it.

I did some pretty extensive testing of it tonight and it seemed to work for every possible situation. I was the eighth man in an 8 person party and tested all of the binds this way. I still want to provide a set that will install to another directory for ease of installation and use, but I don't know what directory people would rather use. Oh well, I'm gonna poke around with these some more tomorrow and see if there's anything else that I can add.
  17. Name: Black
    Server: Virtue
    Team: Knights of Paragon
Brief Info: Black's origins are a mystery. He appeared on the hero scene shortly after the Rikti War, accompanied by an even stranger cloaked hero known as Figment. Black is a master swordsman, and has control over darkness, able to use it for anything from offensive force to simple stealth. He also has the power of flight.

    Name: Danny Fyre
    Server: Virtue
    Team: The Alliance
Brief Info: Danny is a younger hero. After years of believing he was a science hero, affected by the bite of a strange creation of Crey scientists, he found out that he is actually a mutant whose powers went dormant after gaining amnesia from a gang attack while he was a child. His powers re-emerged when he was bitten. He has total control over fire, with the ability to control it or create it. He is also slightly stronger than humanly possible, and has the power of flight.

    Name: Figment'
    Server: Virtue
    Team: Knights of Paragon
Brief Info: Figment is practically unknown by the public at large. He (or perhaps it) wears a cloak that completely masks his face in a magical shadow that is only penetrated by his brightly glowing eyes, which change color according to his mood. He is psychic, and has supernatural healing abilities. He also has the power of teleportation, and can handle a sword with admirable skill if required.

    Name: Immortal
    Server: Virtue
Team: The Brotherhood of Eternal Night
Brief Info: Immortal AKA Draco awoke one night in a cemetary with two bullet wounds in his chest and two very frightened policemen standing before him. After terrorizing a small town for two weeks as a mindless creature of the night, Draco somehow regained his personality from life after being shot. Unable to remember anything other than his name (which he found on his tombstone), Immortal soon discovered he is unbelivably skilled with firearms and modern technology, along with various vampiric powers including super strength and super leaping.

(I have many more heroes, but these are the main ones I created long before the game came out.)
  18. [ QUOTE ]
The F key toggles flight on and off. When flight is on you will hover when not moving and fly when moving (or hover if you don't have fly yet).

  20. Danny looks up in mild alarm at the sound of an explosion in the distance. He looks back and notices one of the others, the large man who had casually strolled through walls, also aware of the sound. Nobody else seems to have heard it, though, and everyone continues onward. Soon they all arrive at the Baumtown security gates. Fyre stares in slight awe at the more powerful heroes congregating in the area. One of them, a smallish dark hero wrapped in black cloth, is casually lifting a powerful Troll Gardvord into the air with her mind, and letting him drop back to the ground. The Troll, roaring in aggrivation, continually tries to get up and fight back, but once again finds himself being levitated into the air, and brought slamming back to the concrete.

Danny snaps back to attention when he hears one of the group members conversing with a guard.
    "...tired, had a long day..."
He looks with slight interest to see what they're talking about, and then notices the woman in the hero's arms.
Just how tough was it in there?
The man turns to the rest of the group after he finishes with the guard.
"We need to go someplace where Deth and Nate can rest up..."
    Fyre scratches his head.
"Well, there's always my apartment, but it's in Galaxy, I dunno if you guys want to go that far. Plus, it's sort of...well...it's not really a great place to bring your folks at this point...but I guess if these two need to rest a while it could do the job."
  21. [ QUOTE ]
You can solo orange with just Fire Breath and Fire ball +aim and buildup. You open with Fire Breath and end the fight with Fireball a total of about 5sec and all mobs are down.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Try soloing reds for a little more excitement. Whip in a fire blast/flares/fire sword quickly to clean up the leftovers. Fun stuff. Simply Devastating.

    [ QUOTE ]
I know reading is too much for most, but don't reply if you didn't take the time. First, fire breath is a cone and as I also said, other blasters have almost identical cones, so this is not a defining "AOE" attack for a fire blaster. Second, I was obviously talking about primaries only, as there is no mention of any secondaries relating to AOE.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Gee, I can't read. Maybe you shouldn't have said anything about Fire not being AOE then. I don't see any other blaster with pure AOE in the primaries. Forget it, I lost all respect after I read your "no worries about melee mobs after level 10!" Did I read wrong here too? Gonna tell me to try hooked on phonics next? Too funny man. Get to level 40 and then tell me what you have learned. Too many players make assumptions on their low level heroes and then generalize that this is the way it is and the way it's gonna be.

    [ QUOTE ]
Let me guess... your primary blaster is a fire/fire and you felt the need to defend it despite no argument against it? These aren't your kids people, calm down. Live a little. Play some other AT mixes so you aren't so freaked out when you see a post with your AT's type in the subject. "OMG, are they talking bad about my AT mix, should I post without reading? Why not, everyone else does".

A guy with this many alts tells me to calm down and live a little. LMAO. If I see an incorrect post, I correct it. Nothing gets me like people who don't know what they are talking about and then try to preach it to others. Point made, conversation over.

  22. [ QUOTE ]

Are there any general rules you try to follow when you decide to create a role you like?

    [/ QUOTE ]
The only rules I follow are, a) does this sound like a cool concept, b) how often has it been done before, c) will I enjoy it?
But I made those rules up. It's all up to you.
    [ QUOTE ]

...but would like some advice on how to create a character I like for whatever new toon I make that will be strictly for RP.

    [/ QUOTE ]
When you create a new character, one tip is to think about what kind of hero YOU would be, if you were a hero. If you're trying to escape your personality by RPing, though, I would suggest looking at comics, movies, etc. for inspiration for characters. But don't let that limit your creativity. Try looking for common stereotypes (the weak scrawny guy with glasses) and turn them upside down (unbelievably strong scrawny guy with glasses ). But, like I said, as long as you're comfortable acting like this person while RPing, then you have the perfect character.
    [ QUOTE ]

-Do I choose on an AT, and build a personality from there?

    [/ QUOTE ]
I never do. ATs are restrictive. Think outside of game mechanics, and create a hero with maybe five powers if you like. Then decide how you can make the character work in the game setting. I, personally, would never create an RP character for one game alone. I'd create a concept and then modify it for whichever game I happen to be RPing in.
    [ QUOTE ]

-would it be easier to choose a "personality quirk" and evolve my character from that, or would that be too dependant on my quirk?

    [/ QUOTE ]
Entirely up to you. If you're one of those people who have NO problem going around with a crazy accent and ALWAYS typing your sentences that way, go for the quirk. But sometimes it's better to add quirks in to add color to an already existing character. Simply depends on your style.
    [ QUOTE ]

-If I start on one type of character I wanna play, and decide I want to take the character's direction in a new way, should I create a new one so not confuse the other players, or is it in the general guidlines to inform everyone Im trying to go into a new direction?

    [/ QUOTE ]
Well, once again it all depends. If you absolutely LOVE your character concept, but sorely regret making them a silent professional killer-type, have them gain a love interest that changes their personality. There's no one answer to questions like these.
    [ QUOTE ]

-What would be considered NOT acceptable behavior? as in, it seems RP feeds off of each other's impromptu addition to an evolving script, that being said, if X RP'er says I clobber you on the head with this, is it a general rule that I should follow through with X's actions, or is it okay if I try to change the direction of the interaction if it is a sensible action?

    [/ QUOTE ]
Like someone else said, it's a general rule that you never, a) control another person's character, or b) decide the outcome of your attack on another person's character.

So if someone says, "My psychic character launches a mental attack on you", and you know your character is robotic and immune to psychics, you have the right to say, "My robotic character is unaffected by the attack, and goes on to..."
But just make sure your character is never invincible. His attacks shouldn't always go as planned, and he should take a few hits or even get knocked out once in a while.

I hope I helped a little. Good luck learning the ropes. And remember, RPing is a very relaxed thing. There are very few hard guidelines, and even then you can change them if you're with friends.
  23. Sorry it took so long between updates everyone. Real life issues that I shan't bore you all with...

Martin pleaded with Major Davis to do something, and Major Davis said that he would send the police to check on Darla. Martin told the Major that Dawg likely had Darla at the docks, and that he would hurt, or possibly even kill Darla, but Davis was unmoved.

“If you won’t do anything, then I will go myself,” Martin declared.

    “Martin, I can’t allow that.”

“Excuse me? Since when am I a prisoner here?”

“Martin, the Sentinel needs you here. I’ll take care of this. I promise.”

Martin let it pass, because Darla’s best chance at rescue was if Vanguard brought their resources to bear on the situation. He shuffled back to his room, worried sick about what horrors Dawg might be subjecting Darla to. He glanced at the Scarlet Sentinel. Following Nurse Grey’s advice, he had been dampening his power for the past 12 hours. If something was going to happen, it was going to happen soon. He turned on the television to get his mind off things. Several hours later, while he was watching the local news, Martin’s attention was caught by news of three sets of murders. According to the report, the bodies were horribly disfigured. If the details of the grisly crimes disturbed Martin, the names of the three households horrified him; Dawg’s father, Zapp’s parents, and Duke’s mother, father, and younger sister.

Martin made up his mind. If the remaining members of “The Crew” had graduated to murdering their own families, Darla was in grave danger. Martin was leaving. Now. Martin turned to get his stuff, and saw the Scarlet Sentinel’s sparkling blue eyes regarding him curiously.

    “You’re awake!”

“Yes, I’m awake. Who are you?”

“Hang on! I’ll go get help!”

“Whoa! Hold on! Where am I? Hey! I know you! You’re that kid at the hospital!”

“Look, hold on. I’ll go get the doctor,” Martin said as he dashed out the door. He returned a moment later with a very flustered-looking doctor. “See? I told you. She’s awake.”

“Yes, I see that,” the young doctor said, obviously very confused.

“Look. Someone mind telling me what’s going on?”

Martin stumbled all over himself to give the Sentinel all the facts he knew, while the base surgeon examined her thoroughly. All the while, the Sentinel watched them both with guarded suspicion. The doctor finally turned to Martin. “Martin, do you have your dampening power active right now?”

    “No.”

“And why not? You were told to keep it active at all times.”

“Nurse Grey told me to shut it off for a day, and to watch the Sentinel closely.”

“Nurse Grey told you. Well, Nurse Grey isn’t the physician here. I am. Reactivate your ability immediately.”

Martin stared at him quizzically, and did as he was asked. “Okay, doc. It’s active.”

“Thank you.” With that, the doctor prepared a syringe, and moved to inject the Sentinel with it.

“Whoa, what’s that?” she said alarmingly.

“It’s just a sedative. We don’t want you re-opening your wounds.”

“Doc, I’m invulnerable. My wounds are not going to reopen unless Mr. Rain-On-My-Parade, here shuts down my power, so put the needle away.”

Martin dampened his power. The doctor attempted to stick the needle into the Sentinel’s arm, and the syringe bent. “Martin!” the doctor snapped.

“She says she doesn’t need it.”

“Yes, and I’m the doctor. She could aggravate her injuries, and..”

“…and I know more about my powers than you do, champ,” the Sentinel insisted. “Other than being sore and a bit queasy, I feel fine.”

“Have you ever been injured before?”

    “No.”

“Then how do you know you’re fine? There could be any number of problems.”

“How long have I been out?”

“A while, but that makes no difference. I…”

“Nothing. I am NOT getting put under again, and that’s that. So take your needles, and…well.. Ditch them.”

The doctor backed out of the room, obviously perturbed, and perhaps a little nervous. After he was gone, Martin proceeded to give the Sentinel a detailed rundown of all that had occurred, including his suspicions on why they were REALLY there. The Sentinel was looking irritably at Martin, holding her bright red leotard in one hand.

    “Do you mind, kiddo?”

“Oh!” Martin blushed as he turned around quickly so the Sentinel could get dressed. “Sorry.”

“It’s all right. So, you think that they may have been keeping me under as a means of keeping you here?”

“I suspect so, thought I can’t figure out why. They didn’t even let me go to my parents’ funeral, and now a close friend of mine is in very real danger.”

“I bet I know why. They are scared of you. I’ve been a Paragon hero for a dozen years, and a meta for many more, and I’ve never heard of a power anything like yours. I suppose that certain people could consider it very dangerous.”

    “I never thought of that.”

“Well, it doesn’t matter. I’m leaving, and if you like, you are welcome to come with me. Okay. I’m dressed.”

Martin turned around and moved toward the door. Looking through the window, Martin could see Major Davis walking down the corridor towards the room along with the doctor and a couple of other men. “We’ve got company,” he said to the Sentinel.

I tweaked a couple of things and have it set up such that the first press of 'C' will select the first available person in the team, and the first press of 'Shift+C' will select the last available person in the team.
