CoV was a stand alone game. You didn't have to have CoH to play it, and you had the option of linking to the two together. CoV has higher RAM requirements that CoH.
CoH:GR won't be stand alone, but it won't be a "must have" either. It may very well have higher system requirements than CoH or CoV (aka CoX or CoH ... might as well just call it CoH at this point as it was CoH:Mac, CoH:AE, and will be CoH:GR.)
I'm not sure how you can say "CO is what CoH was supposed to be" unless you work for Cryptic. If you work for Cryptic, you shouldn't be posting here about how your game is a better version of CoH.
If Champions Online is what "CoH was supposed to be", I'm glad that I have what I have rather than "what it was supposed to be".
Champions Online is huge letdown to me. I'm a big fan of Champions the RPG since it was released up to the first hardbound book. It is a great system; it was revolutionary to pen-and-pencil RPG'ing. Too bad that great system isn't in Champoins Online.
Micro-transactions, 8 total character slots, the quick-money grab of "life-time" memberships to people buying the game before they play it -- it just starts adding up to something that not only trivializes the name of a great pnp RPG name, but doesn't interest me at all.
Seriously.
With a the problems that we have here - and I see quite a few faults -, this is one of the best games that I have ever played.
By-and-large, the people that I play with are great gamers here. The majority of them are not rude and they like to play the game the way that it was intended.
I have to take time now to take action against situations and players that I don't want to deal with in the game. This has only really come to a head recently since AE was released.
But, even in this time of turmoil, I still love this game.
I love Champions the RPG too. What Cryptic did to it stinks.
I'd also like to say again that I'm not a fan of Emmert. He did a ton of crappy things to CoH, and no one likes to be told they are playing game different from how the other person envisioned it. That's something that should have been thought of before the game launched. I also understand that Jack lied a lot. I do take that into account when i look at CO.

CO is an interesting game to say the least. And like many I'm a little iffy on Emmert heading all the projects Cryptic is working on, but theargument that he is just after money is silly. Every game on the market is after money, thats why they were made. If you think the costume booster packs are strickly for your pleasure and not for Paragon Studios to get more money then you really need to think twice.

Seems like a double edged sword to me. CoH has been my home since June 04, I'm very happy to see things we the player base have been asking for, which is great. But on the side of tech they haven't wowed my in a couple of years. I'm sure the Devs working on CoH really care about their product but I do think they need to step up their game.
On a side note there was never a mention of a CoH2, from the only trailer released of Cryptics MUO it looked nothing like CO at all. CO is what CoH was supposed to be, so i'm sure there is a lot of passion in the product for the people who worked on CoH to finally make the product they had invisioned so many years ago with COH came up. -

Just saw it (really wasn't planning on it) and honestly it was bad. It had some good parts to it, i mean who doesn't like a good explosion. But even explosions and hot chicks weren't enough to save this movie for me.

I don't care much for movie critics, if its not a foreign film they don't give two poops. But stuff like "If I was 10 years old, `G.I. Joe' would be one of the best movies I had ever seen." doesn't really appeal to me becuase i'm not a 10 year old kid. But again i hope that it turns out to be a good movie but if its not i wont be supprised.

Amazing job everyone, the run was smooth with minimal issues. The late start was kind of meh but overall great not bad. Oh and sorry for being a poor target caller, if i ever do it again I'll work on it so everyone will know where to go and where to locate me. But again great job everyone that came out.

Coming from a person who doesn't know you and only knows of you, i could care less. However i will say there is a time to be stupid and there is a time to act your age instead of like a small child who knows "bad" words. Most people don't like attention whores so you keep yourself in check I'm sure those "haters" will slowly go away and really find out who you are as a person instead of seeing all the dumb things being said. Anyway thats my two cents, good luck in your decision.
