Much to my dismay, I am announcing that the RP SG Axiom Guard is closing it's doors soon. Reasons for so are largely spelled out in the lengthy rant post I made on the last page. It's taking a toll on me in-game and out and I just can't keep doing it anymore by myself.
I apologize to those members who haven't fallen prey to altitis. Events through the V Rp R will continue as scheduled and then some.
To that end, I am likely taking a sabbatical from the game to try and get the frustration out of my system that has been plaguing me for some while. I'll continue to try and orchestrate and sponsor events in-game and promote them here, even if I'm not actually RPing anymore to take part in them. -
Unfortunately, people being unable to differentiate between IC personalities and OoC personalities is something that has gotten a touch out of hand lately.
-
Updated! I can't believe we never mentioned the beach or Spanky's either... =/
-
I'm in. Is this AM or PM, though?
-
I would like to apologize to the masses who have either partaken in this revival effort or been let down by it.
The Virtue RP Revival plan was set into motion some many months ago now by a small group of 5 or 6 Virtue RPers with the desire to see the community getting out and doing more, interacting, seeing new alliances formed, new friends made. We started out with a hell of a bang, things swelled and all was well.
In the time since, of the 5 or 6 of us who started out on this road, I am the only one still around or attempting anything to keep it going. Whether others just up and left, or quit playing or simply stopped talking about it, it's been some while since I had much help on any of this, or any of it's branch concepts such as the Axiom Guard SG or the RP thread here on the forums.
With life giving me little in the way of respite what with work, a car breaking down, work, bills, car repairs and work, I've been doing what I can in order to see that this entire thing doesn't slowly fall to the way side and become another forgotten notion. I've been planning events by my lonesome, I've been trying to keep the SG running alone except for the aide of but a few members not involved in the preplanning of it who are nothing short of patriots for the idea we've started.
To some circles, this has all been the result of me being "arrogant". I assure you, this is not the case. Anyone who knows me beyond the computer screen knows I'm a very easygoing person with far too many issues to like himself that much. Is my character an *******? Sometimes, certainly. But that's a separate individual. This has less to do with arrogance or wishing to be in command of things, and more to do with stress, frustration and a weary mind. I was never supposed to be taking all of this upon myself, so it all ending up on my shoulders was not the fault of arrogance. My character only accepted the position as leader of the Axiom under the conditions that he was the only one currently able to lead, and that he would be replaced as soon as someone more fitting could take his position, hardly arrogant.
To those who know what I'm talking about, this is my defense for whatever actions I may have taken or anything I may have said that came off more stern than it was meant to. To those of you who are reading this and hearing it for the first time, it is an explanation as to why the channel and SG and other facets of the Revival haven't been as active as initially hoped.
To all of you, again, it is an apology from me to you. It all started out as an idea to help the community. It's turned into something seen as less than that, and I am sorry for it.
So until further notice, the channel, threads and SG are all staying open. But we do need help from you all. Members stepping up to take charge, anyone looking to pitch ideas or organize events, all of it.
Go forth and enjoy i23.

Thanks all!
Quote:I also have the default Hero skin. I found it hard to read but not impossible. All the same, I just changed it to a lighter red. Let me know if that works any better for you. This is a rather cool list you got going on, but I just thought I should point out that the red text is almost impossible for me to read on the default hero skin.
Already crossing off locations as I go! Race ya! -

The Axiom Guard
For hundreds of years, our world has been at war with itself. Petty things such as religions based on peaceful deities, or who is better than who. And for hundreds of years, our own differences could be settled by our own people.
Those years are over.
As a world, we are faced with a great many powerful threats from otherworldly, and extra-dimensional enemies- entire races more powerful than us, aiming at us, wanting us gone. We are not prepared for these enemies. Not as we are.
The Axiom Guard has been created with the hopes of creating ties between heroes and villains, not allegiances. World peace is a dream we will likely never see or hope to achieve. But whether we want to rule the world or save it, we must have a world to live on. The Axiom Guard will act as that spearhead. A rallying point for heroes and villains to join and work through and with in order to fight the larger fight against the likes of Mot, the Rikti and the Coming Storm. We will be the ones to construct a greater defense for Earth, our home, in order to allow us, it's inhabitants, to create it's future. With members/representatives of groups such as Longbow, Arachnos, the UN, as well as Praetorian sympathizers, the Axiom aims to reach out to everyone with its goal.
Based out of Paragon City in an underground base, our base is still under construction but already contains custom dormitories for members and numerous spots for member-to-member interaction.
OoC- This RPSG is the product of the Virtue RP Revival global channel and our attempts to bring RP back to the public face of Virtue, not only to the Pocket D and the Group bases. The creation of the group can be witnessed here, and information on the V RP R channel can be found here.
We run in-character task-forces, WSTs, trials, AE arcs, contests, and large-scale events based and tailored to the world and events around us in-game, such as pre-/prior- i22 Dark Astoria events, Nemesis invasion retaliations, and events in Praetoria in order to spurn on RP and the play of Praetorian characters who may have fallen into disuse. All RP welcome, so long as the community as a whole is allowed to benefit and take part.
For invites, information, or questions, contact me at @Two Across -
I'd like to extend a great thank you to everyone who attended the Praetorian Goodwill RP this evening! The RP was all over the place, as it should be. There were characters from every background and alliance and motive, which played out nicely, and there was a lot of good rants about politics and the such!
Check out our IC thread for the follow up, and keep an eye out for more events in the near future! -
Xeden.
Unless I'm alt-tabbed because my ADHD is rampant or I'm in the middle of something, I'm usually up for whatever. -
Xeden stepped back through the swirling portal that led between the Pocket D and Praetoria's Studio 55, rubbing his jaw. For a moment, he wondered what he had gotten himself into. This wasn't part of his job description as handed down to him by the UN SPD. He was potentially flying off the handle already, taking matters far too well into his own hands. But his mission was to protect Primal Earth. He was still doing that.
Just in a more... round-about way.
He closes his eyes and took a breath. Speeches and posturing, all behind him now. The naysayers and ill-wishers in the rear-view. He had found support fast and ready in Praetoria, his proclamation the same there as it was on Primal Earth when speaking to heroes and villains alike: "No more 'you against me', now it is 'us against them'."
The two worlds were closely related and now more intertwined than ever before, in war or peace, the portals, the fighting, the threats. Oh the threats. Hamidon was alive and well, aiming to decimate Praetoria again because of a war that Primal Earth took part in. Cole was edging on the end of his reign now that the light had been shed on his actions of the past and his buckets of lies. The Sister Earths could be a combined power that none could stop, if only the people would listen.
But in the middle of the Magisterium, on Cole's front doorstep, Christian James was no threat to him. With legal papers of public assembly stamped and cleared, without his armor or cape, without his identification as a hero or leader. On bended knee, he presented himself to the mass of metas and civilians as nothing more than a dignitary, far from his recognized role in the Axiom, and presented his case to an entire other world.
The hands of the many must join as one. The Rularuu, the Hamidon, the Coming Storm. They threaten more than just one world, and with so many similarities, there was no reason to let an unnecessary war come between a mutual alliance and defense in the name of the Earths. It was no longer about Cole. It wasn't about a portal opening somewhere by happenstance and bridging two worlds. It wasn't about Bombing Skyway City, or hijacking a news station. It was about making sure kids grew up and a humanity continued to exist.
And as Chris talked, he realized that one by one, he was talking to fewer people. One by one, they moved from where they listened on from and took a place behind him until only a few Loyalist few remained, and it broke down into talks of "terrorism" and "traitors", the naysayers wanting nothing to do with a "Praetorian plot".
You can't win them all, he told himself.
But the seeds were sewn. Be it even so small as a handful of people, another alliance was born.
He stepped out from behind the rampway, looking over the dancefloor to the blue-haired, pregnant woman he called his wife, and smiled. His dream of keeping this world intact so his son could see a peaceful future may have just become another step closer to reality.

TO: LAURENT, TALITHA
SUBJECT: PRAETORIAN EXPANSION (S)
BODY: You chose me to lead the Axiom. I'm leading it. And you can tell your supervisors to chew me if they disagree with my tactics- I've expanded the Axiom from simple Hero/Villain, Paragon/Etoile folds and membership drives and begun to enroll members of the Praetorian world, whatever role they play there in an effort to further expand and defend Primal Earth, and by extension, Praetoria.
Cole will no longer be an issue soon, he will be removed from power in the near future. With his downfall, Praetoria's population will be headless, scattered, in panic, unless we help to stabilize their confidence and reinforce them now. There is nothing to lose and an entire world of people to help have our back if we succeed.
If you have questions, or your higher-ups wish to contend with me, they have my contact information. I look forward to rebutting them.

Reminder!
The Praetorian Goodwill RP Event is Saturday at 5pmEST, beginning in Nova Praetoria! Hope to see many of you there! -
The Virtue RP Revival global channel endorses and supports this SG. Use our channel and RP events to get the word out as you please. It's a phenomenal concept that I would love to see thrive.
While I'm here, check out this post for more on a Praetorian RP event that would certainly help your group get their name out there. -
Public RP Event!
Saturday, May 12th, 5pmEST
{IC information}
The Praetorian Goodwill Effort-
With Cole's Empire nearly decimated in the wake of the war with Primal Earth, his generals defeated and tactical strongholds taken out one by one, Praetoria is becoming a land with it's golden leading hand finding itself ever without a ruling body to lead it. The war has cost both Primal and Praetorian Earths much, by land and blood.
In keeping with the Axiom Guard's mission statement of forming a better and more extensively larger defensive net for our home planet, Xeden has begun planning a relief effort into Praetoria in an attempt to extend the olive branch to those wishing to leave the war behind, build ties between the sister-dimensions, and help both worlds to recover from their losses and, more importantly, protect one another.
"Two worlds so alike shouldn't be kept apart by fighting like this," Xeden commented, "A threat to one threatens the other, we're so entwined and connected now. Be it their Hamidon, or our Coming Storm, over time we will both be in danger. It would be wrong and foolish not to try and expand our personal borders and resources."
The Axiom will be appearing in the Magisterium on Saturday, May 12th, in their efforts to build what this war has torn down, and extend hands to those who would shake them.
{OoC information}
Much like the IC events in Astoria and the iTrials, this RP event is public to anyone who would like to attend, and is geared towards not only helping RPers to find potential allies, friends and groups, but purposed towards all of those Praetorian alt characters who have been collecting dust.
For the most part, a public RP will be going on. Badge, defeat progress, AV and zone event teams are very likely, though IC reasons for them will vary and be circumstantial as they come up.
Join global channel "Virtue RP Revival" in game, or contact me at @Two Across for more information, questions or suggestions. We will try to accommodate everything that we can. -
Our next event, the Praetorian Goodwill Summit will be coming up soon, within the next few weeks (possibly next weekend), so keep an eye out for more specific times!
-
The Axiom Guard picked up seven members as well, and an additional two the following day thanks to the Faire.
If I had one item of suggestion, it would be to have RPSGs and regular SGs on two opposite sides of wherever we are meeting for players to know where to look. That aside, it was a well done event! -
First off, as one of the channel's founders, I would like to THANK you for having the bravery in the face of this kind of situation to speak your mind to us, even if it wasn't in the channel itself, and bring it to our attentions.
That said, I can say that I haven't seen many of these conversations pop up in the channel. We tend to try and put a cap on anything that comes up involving formal nouns or naysaying against groups, unless it is in the most bare, nonspecific sense, and even then, it isn't a long conversation.
The Virtue RP Revival channel wasn't made to be just "another RP global channel". We try to promote teams and SGs, sure, but the main point was to try and bring RPers together from all walks of the game, and host events to try and make RPing a larger, more public event, something a lot of channels don't take the time to try. In that, appealing to EVERY ONE of those walks of life is important. If we wanted to be selective we would have just made a supergroup.
ERPers will get ragged on. That's a pretty universal trait for everyone who doesn't partake. And while a few jabs can be tolerable, outright ousting and denouncing players isn't right. Regardless of content, it's STILL roleplaying. I put an M before the RP in my bio because I deal with serious, more graphic material such as death and bloodletting in my character's life. I'm no one to be giving grief to anyone else.
As I said above, we try to appeal to everyone who RPs. My SG is specifically geared in a direction that includes both heroes AND villains. To not like a group is a personal opinion. To denounce one and, as it sounds, drown you out in naysay about what you like isn't. And it isn't something that the channel mods will let happen, especially if someone is being made to feel ostracized for it.
In the future, please don't hesitate to say something to anyone in the channel with a rank. We will silence members, and we will say something to them in private. If need be, I'll kick someone from the channel if they aren't playing nice with others. It isn't what we're about nor do we advocate it.
So on behalf of those who said anything that may have angered or upset you, Scorpia, I do apologize. Behavior like that isn't and won't be tolerated if caught. The RP community is a community regardless of HOW they RP. -
We're already on top of this, in a sense, but for all weekly Virtue events, not just CCs.
-
The Axiom Guard will also be in attendance!
...Fancy promo poster available soon.
Currently Recruiting: Heavy RPers from all over the spectrum, Blue, Red or Gold. Everyone with an agreeable character personality or mentality is welcome to join!
In-Character Mission Statement: Our world is under siege from too many threats and in these chaotic times, it will take all of us to save our home. Hero, Villain, Rogue, Vigilante. These are outdated terms that segregate us as a planet. In the face of threats like Mot, Praetoria, and the Coming Storm, the hands of the many must join as one if we are to survive. The days of "you against I" are gone as we look forward into the days of "us against them". Join The Axiom Guard, a collective of those across the globe with one goal: Defend Earth.
Activity: As a recently established supergroup with purposes in and out of character, we are still forming our corp membership. Which means activity largely depends on the sized we can reach. This also means ranks in the chain of command are still open and available for those most committed to helping out!
Requirements for Membership: Participation and activity! Alts are fine (up to a degree) so long as they are active and not just sitting about.
Leadership: Xeden
In-Game Contact: @Two Across, @Andreah, @Heartshine
Other Details: We are a heavy-RP supergroup working alongside the global channel "Virtue RP Revival" in an attempt to bring public roleplaying back to the Virtue server, bringing it out of the D and SG bases and back into everyday player interactions. We are part of a heavy RP coalition, continually running large-scale events, raids, taskforces, trials, yada yada. us. -
In coalition with the Silver Aegis, the Axiom Guard is also looking for members. We are a newly-formed blueside SG that is working through the global channel Virtue RP Revival, regularly host large-scale events, run TFs, raids, trials, etc. There is also room for quick advancement up the ranks into higher positions, if that is something you would choose to pursue.
For more details, you can reach me in-game at @Two Across. -
I'm in. I need Avoids the Green Stuff and Loves A Challenge still.
-
@Templar has created an AE mission arc, and volunteered it for an open IC run, Saturday at noon, Talos AE building.
Short plot synopsis: The Architect Entertainment company suspects tampering with they simbots. Is this a simple bug, or has the Crey Corporation bugged it for them? Be there on Saturday to find out! -
Yeah... probably should have said something about a day of the week proper before posting something ambiguous like "tomorrow" so late at night.
I'm a stupid genius. -
RP EVENT:
The UN Special Projects Division has greenlit The Axiom Guard SG, a joint hero/villain initiative aimed at defending our world from all dimension-threatening enemies. Join tomorrow at 730pmEST in the Vanguard base, RWZ.
OoC: This RP SG is aimed at characters of all backgrounds and origins who are globally-minded enough to realize that despite personal ideologies and backgrounds or plans for the planet, there are enemies to the entire dimension who want Primal Earth wiped from reality. In order to counter this, heroes and villains are being asked to gather together under a larger banner, allied with both Supergroups and Villaingroups to help provide a larger roleplaying environment for everyone from both sides of the game, in hopes of creating a more unified, but much broader community for the RP crowds. Single, groupless characters, as well as SG leaders alike are welcome to come and see if the events interest you to join in on.
IC: At 730pmEST, in the Vanguard briefing room, Christian "Xeden" James, current leader of the Axiom Guard supergroup, will be appealing to solo heroes, villains, and everything in between, as well as established groups/leaders looking to help build on the ideals of the UN SPD and create a larger unit of defense for out planet.
