  1. To be quite frank, I think Teldon did a great job picking the behind the mask candidates. I'm a Championite, plain and simple. First server I picked to play on and their is a great group of people over there. Teldon picked a good variety of famous, infamous, up and coming, and completely unknown (or possibly I'm just blanking on the name) characters to interview. I was rather pleased to see the group up there and would frankly get rather tired if it was just all level 50s that are well known on the forums.

Again, to be frank, I don't see the behind the mask thing as a glorification section of a certain person, I always saw it as a sort of advertisement for the kind of people you would meet should you play that server. A brief little morsel to try and lure some people to try a different server. Some people are just stuck on their server and quite frankly, I don't think that's any fun.

    No, my name isn't Frank.

Deviant art!? Pssssssh. Everything on DA loads like syrup falling from a tree, and the entire layout is clunky and all that. See, that's why I use Photobucket to host images.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I'm glad you said it and not me, though I've always thought it, but I never said anything... mostly because I'm scared of the arty folk.

By the by, what do you use to make your sprites?

I await to see the next issue and hope for more sections, perhaps?

[/ QUOTE ] No worries on that score. We're following our original gameplan of starting slow and getting our feet under us. We're bringing in new voices all the time, just to keep people from feeling burned out, and to keep things fresh. With a little luck, this will be something that will be rolling for a long time to come.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Sounds like a winning plan to me.
  4. I'm really starting to enjoy The Scoop. The first issue I was mildly confused as to what person and tone it was supposed to be taken as, but I really don't think that was supposed to matter... anyway... You guys are doing a great job and really starting to come together as a group. I await to see the next issue and hope for more sections, perhaps?
  5. Well... I saw this post this morning and because I have nothing better to do, and it was your birthday after all so, I decided to go find some Rikti. Luckily for me, my main has yet to hit 50 and has been currently running some Rikti missions.

    Anyway...

*Warning some of the language may be 'graphic' and of a spoilerish nature*

It seems that the Rikti, mean alien creatures that they are, were trying to convert some of the Lost to full Rikti. Phoenix, the star of the show, was informed that these Lost were 'reluctant' to be turned into full Rikti. That's what was with the Elephantman there. Sadly, this led her to the sewers of all places, it's always the sewers after you get new duds, but what can you really do when you are in disguise from your normal disguise. Incognito as it were, but that's rather hush-hush... or so I'm told... or not told as applies to this case...

So... the Rikti appeared to be rather weak at first just using their everyday minions. Not the strongest of combatants, but their plasma sword thing is rather mean. Some of them seem to have control over radiation as well. Nasty stuff, that. Anyway, making her way through the sewers and freeing the Lost from these minions she ran into resistance from some of the more powerful Rikti soldiers: The dreaded (in this picture cat harmless) Mentalist , whom have thwarted her attempts on several occasions; very dangerous in large numbers due to their mental capabilities. The deadly Rikti Gunner with their dangerous plasma guns and their unstunnable drones that seem to flock to them.

She dealt with them rather easily and quickly moved on to find the last of the Lost, only to find their leader , whom knew he was outclassed so pulled his most devious trick; he opened a portal to who knows where! Out poured Rikti soldiers! A devious plot at best, but even out numbered Phoenix didn't give up and came out the victor, though she did have to get her costume cleaned, but all in all nothing can defeat this lithe controller gal.

    Just to make it clear.

Bah! You made me look even more the fool!

I'm still voting for you Draco...

    Draco
Afarias (He tried to pull off the spiked epualets. I'll give him some credit for that alone. Those things are so unwieldy it isn't funny.)
Roxstar (As much as he gets around he still rocks. *rock fist*)
  7. So... how do we go about voting? PM? Make it rather vocal that Draco's costume is leaving me in awe?
  8. I think it is a fantastic shot. I really dig the angle.

Now, that's comedy. Maybe it's just because I loathe Superman. What a hoser.
  13. ?

About half way down... if this is what you wanted...
  14. That was grand. That limbo joke really hit the spot. Not to mention the chicken salad.
  15. How about a fallen pop idol?

    Turn ons include:
Hating her fans. (This poor hero only wanted an autograph, but her pop reject backup crew made short work of her.)
General larceny; Asportation or copyright matters not.
Writing songs with her group, The Blood Rhapsody. Featured, from left to right: Teddy Upton, Lance Lumbersea, Donnie Duke, and Ms. Sabers herself.
Did I mention hating her fans? 'Death to Fanbois.'

    Turn offs:
Songs that don't contain the word: baby.
    Fanbois *hate*

*Note to self... perhaps make a hero named Fanbois'... make him French and give it that accent mark.
  16. Yet another great costume and wallpaper to go with it.

If I may, what do you use to make these wallpapers? I may try my hand at this if I get some time. May be an actual art form I can handle.

Infinity eh? It is the home of my goofy characters... I think I'd feel bad though with a character by that name...

    Hey! Dolphins! Cool.

Thanks LJ. You didn't have to go to the trouble, but now I've got an island and dolphins and Zek is there to keep me company as punishment.

I hope you like Cheap Trick cause that's pretty much the extent of my repertoire. That and rather screechy version of "Goodbye Stranger".

Why did you rename yourself Inane_Fool? -_-

    [/ QUOTE ]

Well, despite people saying I'm not... I really am... I'm rather lonely too... I need a hug... and a jester's hat.
  19. Rather kind of you to step up for me MrAwesome and I thank you for it, but I wouldn't worry about it. I called myself the fool and I rather don't mind being the butt of the joke.

My intention wasn't to get LJ to stop drawing these. I actually liked looking at the characters as Peanuts characters and was really one of the reasons I continued to follow the strips. This was where my Marcy comment stemmed from Zekiran. Not, 'Oh look it's Marcy', though, him saying that was a bonus, it was the point that LJ used a more Marcy looking 'style'(?). You know, the thick glasses and all that jazz. As on a couple of occasions she used poses or different styles that looked similar to Charlie Brown himself. Juggertha looked very much like good old Chuck in 3 and Great Brittanic parodied Linus with countless others doing the same.

While, of course I didn't get a belly laugh out of them, they still amused me, but then again I don't think I can say I ever really laughed at the original Peanuts comics. It was still a rather a rarity to find that I hadn't read the strip that day though and could outright say I didn't enjoy it.

I'm sorry my views on the humour upset you LJ. I don't think you should let this fool's opinion get you down.

Apologies to you and all of the 'Nuts readers.

If you went by them being of a batty variety.... it would be a Colony of Vampyres. Sure... not as funny, but that's what it is... a colony...

I still like the style and I like that you finally referenced Marcy, but I just can't find the funny in most of these... I don't know... it's like they are very in jokey. *shrug*

    [/ QUOTE ]

I think you're missing that this is more of a COH character parody than a Peanuts parody.

    Keep em coming, LJ!

    [/ QUOTE ]

Well, I don't really know what to say to that. It seems rather obvious to the fact that it is a CoH parody.

I looked at the characters, but I'm going to guess that I just lack empathy for other's characters. I've been told this on countless occasions and I suppose that is the problem here, though I'm really just going to rack it up to it not being my kind of humour in this case seeing as how caring about the wants and needs of characters doesn't seem to fit the bill in this one.

Maybe I'm missing the more important nuances or maybe I'm just a fool. I'm certainly not here to play devil's advocate, so I'll just accept the fact I have an odd sense of humour that rarely commingles with that of others and we can all go on with our lives.

I always though it was a Murder of Vampires.

But there really should be someone fact checking those...

    PS: These are freakin' hilarious.

Blacksmith: Hello, Some Guy. Why, yes, I do have a quest for you. I lost a shipment of special ore. See, it's special for some obscure reason that I don't think you care about.

Me: OK, gotcha. You lost a shipment of ore. I suppose thieves stole it and you want me to go kill them and get your ore back?

Blacksmith: Thieves? Oh, no! The caravan tipped over into the river and frogs ate my ore. You should go out by the river and start killing giant frogs. Some of them should have my ore.

    Me: Say what now?!?

Blacksmith: I'm missing about 20 pieces of ore. Well, come on. Chop, chop! Those frogs won't kill themselves.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Please make Sam an NPC and make some portion of this his quest. Trolls can be frogs and thieves! It'll be great!

    [/ QUOTE ]

No joke! That was an actual mission. The blacksmith had lost a shipment of ore and frogs had eaten it, so I was supposed to kill frogs until I got 20 drops of ore.

Yeah, sure, the dialogue was all mine, but the mission is as-is

    [/ QUOTE ]

Oh, I know, I know. I've done countless numbers of these kinds of missions and just the way you actually wrote it out was grand. I think it would be a perfectly good shot at all other MMOs out there.

The boss troll on that mission can be Frogre or maybe just Frog.

    MUGEN / Sprites

I'd assume... a lot of work and some sprite editing or normal editing program. Can't really give you any more help than that. I've wanted to do this myself, but sprite editing on that level is a fine and time consuming art. There were quite a few tutorials running around and you may be better off searching some MUGEN sites or something dealing more just sprites.
