hehe, av soloing is deffo doable. Took me a second attempt but got Citadel down solo. I went into a mission without a clue it had an AV in, on relentless, kicked his [censored]. Well, after he kicked mine. Got back quickly but had to take him from full health again. He did miss quite a lot after a while, along with two/three noxious gasses, hasten to stack more debuffs and constantly pulling damn 3rd napalm guy who constantly ran in to hit him with his pathetic punch it worked out. Took so long though first time, second time i used a few inspirations, only damage and one/two a pop on brute just when he lost aggro so he could get it back more easily as citadel hit damn hard and could kill the others. he also has a nova that took everyone cept the brute if it hit so keep outta range.
but do-able, yes. -
Thugs poison is great for soloing and no need to wait for later levels. Well to be fair i'd not played in ages and restarted with a lvl 39 thugs/poison in the last few days and not sure i hit a hero as opposed to EB's, maybe both.
Either way its all about debuffing, which is much harder when the debuff is massively reduced but, stacked paralytic poisons, with stacked weaken and envenom with at the moment i have at least one recharge in each, probably more. Drop noxious gas on your enforcer and send him in first all adds up and you should eventually have the av taking a decent amount of damage aswell as missing a lot of hits and even held for some time. Drop gang war on it aswell for some distraction minor damage. You want hold/debuff's slotted in the appropriate powers so they last long enough and are usable often enough to stack them but thats about it.
I took hasten fairly late, and have Force of nature accolade which the later i save for very tough fights to stack up the debuffs even further.
Sorry only just reread and noticed, same on primary everything non attack basically and secondary you REALLY want paralytic poison, its great, for anything below a boss its a one hit hold of 15-20 seconds with a recharge becomes stackable, boss's 2 hits and then continous hold if you want, and eb's 3 hits normally. I can't remember if you can actually hold a Av/hero or not, its been way to long.
Alkaloid i have fully slotted, not really sure tbh if aid other is better, but slotted alkaloid gives a 240 heal every 2.2seconds at lvl 40 of which, if your enforcer is taken the main hits will see him survive most bosses with some debuff's. Poison trap everyone said was [censored] so i skipped that too, same with antidote. Not taken patron yet, was here trying to find out whats best.
Respec and take paralytic poison, and as soon as its available, its more than worth it, fully slotted too. -
load one up, the first two attack powers you take, you will use endlessly for anything up to a couple of years. level it to 4/5, will take an hour or two maybe. you'll see your main and most used attacks, decide if you like them. then do the other one and see which you prefer.
one obvious problem with games like these are boredom at repetitive action, which IMHO isn't helped by terrible animations and boring looking attacks. i roled a archery, got to level 4/5 and thought it was terrible. took the 2nd and 3rd attacks, one target aoe, and the more powerful of the first two(which i assume look the same). frankly the arrows/bow look [censored]. the guns look more interesting imho, but i found both blasters to be instantly boring to play, but obviously only for me.
but as i said, just try them both to level 5. -
hmm, not sure if they quit the team or just logged out, will have to try again. gonna take a break for the footie now, anyone wants to meet me at 6ish leave a message here or send a tell in game. solo'd the level 40 vanguard missions on, whatever the second highest difficulty is, keep forgeting what they are called. last mission with 2 elite bosses was a pain in the butt. wiped once because was in a fight with one with reinforcements turning up then the 2nd elite showed. when i got back i fought them separately. was fun.

Errm, I just tried it with a couple nice random people who logged in an alt for me, but as soon as they logged out the task force was dropped for me. is there anything else i need to do to make sure i can keep going on it? make sure i have no missions? had a couple left to do, do'h.
EDIT:- gonna be on all day, send me a message if you can help Drunkenkiller i'll be logged in as, mucho love in advance for anyone helping. -
do'h, can most of the TF's be solo'd fully then. I'm just getting back to the game, the free weekend drew me back as i'd been thinking bout it for ages.
So if someone won't be using an alt for an evening, then can log in, start the tf with you, then log off and you can play it on your own. Anything else needed, or as long as they are joined but offline you can go right the way through?
i don't mind teaming, but really prefer solo'ing, and been playing a lot late at night where getting teams for tf's has proven difficult so far.
I want to to positron/sister/numina to get the accolade as being a regen it will help a lot. are they all fairly solo'able? whats the situation with TF's, being exemped down and the player not being close, only works with tf's at your own level? -
hehe, sorry about the long post, i could add more slots to tough and weave, though seems un-needed to me, i just had a end red in tough, and end red and 1 def buff on the weave. they worth slotting more at all?
I'm also a little unclear on the IO sets and bonus's. if they are in click powers, they work for 120 seconds right, if they are toggles, they will stay in unless toggle drops then remain for another 120 seconds. what about passive powers, and attack powers, do the bonus's just always work?
should i maybe add some extra slots(above the 1 acc/4 damage slots) in attacks for tohit debuffs, not sure how high the debuffs are on them in the first place.
i think soul drain is something i love as a power, really needs 1 acc, 2 damage, 3 recharge, and a couple tohit buffs , good range or IO's for that? other thing i wondered, is there basically any cheapish way to get IO's and set's, they seem insanely expensive, are they really only get to level 50, grind hard to get money things? -
SO, i've after the free weekend been tempted to come back and play, for a month at least anyway.
Now my highest/best/funnest character is my dark melee/regen guy. but being that its old its completely badly slotted and SO'd at the moment.
like 6 slots in quick recovery and stamina, hasten, for some reason(i think that was my first real character i took past a few levels and didn't know better) i didn't slot fast healing or health at all. i've also got 2 attackes with 5 SO damages, intergration with 5 heals one end red, and instant healing with 3 heals/3end red's .
but the thing is, i have not a freaking clue about the new IO's and how that should affect my slotting. also have , well a hard to slot build due to which powers i took and when. i took
smite , shadow maul, touch of fear(as i solo and its a great crowd control with a recharge rate, soul drain and midnight grasp. i skipped the steal life and steal end powers as they seemed fairly useless, boring and with regen/fitness pools not needed really at all.
from the regen group i skipped reconstruction, never did like it.
up at levle 37 i've got hasten, hurdle/health/stam ,
combat jumping/super leap, then boxing for extra attack plus tough and weave for some def/resistance just to help keep the one hit health all gone super purple boss's kicking my [censored]. it works quite well, chains well for me though could do with one more attack.
either way, i assume ditch 3 slots from stamina, hasten and quick recovery. is that right, or are people keeping more slots in there for sets later on?
what kind of sets are good for recovery. intergration seems like it only really needs 3 healths and 1 end red, worth any more? instant heal i assume still 3 health but switch to 3 recharge reduce aswell?
problem is with skipping those midlevel attacks i don't really have that much that needs that many slots.
attacks, 1 acc + a soul drain to start seems to give me a very good hit rate on reds/purples already, so if i only need 3 damage SO's what should go in the other slots. with hasten they don't really need recharges.
basically i'm a little lost when it comes to the IO's and how i should be slotting for use when i can get IO's and sets.
there are plenty of builds but loads/most are old builds, and don't focus so much on new IO recommendations at all.
