  1. So from this point on, are we to assume that new powersets will never be free again? I have a hard time convincing myself to pay for something that I never had to before. At the very least, new powersets should be instantly available to VIP players, since we are paying that extra to receive additional content. It seems rather redundant to make the people who are already paying shell out more money to see the things that previously would have been covered under their subscription. How much more money do you need from the loyal subscribers who continue to pay money each month?

Yes, you can make the case that we're given points every month. I spent mine on beam rifle, but had I known street justice was right around the corner I would have held out for that instead. So even with the free points I've been given, I would still have to pay out of pocket to be able to use all the new powers right away. Otherwise, if I want if for free I have to wait two months until I've built up enough "free" points to purchase it. The way I see it, VIP players should not lose anything that they would have gotten under the old business model. I don't feel like a very important person when I still have to pay for things that previously would have been given to us.
  2. This may have been brought up somewhere on the forums in the past, but I think a simple resolution to this issue would be the implementation of -KB IOs. Seriously, I would buy one if such a thing existed. I would buy many as long as they were not unique and only allowed you to slot one per build. Every person of every AT would finally have the option to remove KB from a power if they did not want it...and could afford the IO.

Where this IO would be slotted becomes somewhat of a technical issue though. It would seem odd to have a -KB effect in the KB enhancement category, as you wouldn't want any of those IOs to enhance KB effects. Perhaps they could be made into 2 separate IO sets for PBAoE damage and Targeted AoE damage. The "proc" enhancement of each set being one that changes the KB effect of the power to KD. If the power doesn't have any KB effect, it could either add KD or at least a chance for KD.

To me this seems like a win-win scenario. Not just for Kheldians either, but for everyone in the game. Those who want to keep their KB can do so and not have to change their current power slottings or playstyle to adjust to new changes, and the rest of us who would have changed it anyways could now do so.
  3. As a compromise, I think another part that should be incorporated into Cosmic Balance is KB reduction. Let's face it, even those that actually like their KB are still going to get heckled for it on teams, and it is in those particular teaming situations where KB really is not needed. I can see how some people may use it to their advantage on solo, but when you're on a full team with lots of AoE, you're not helping at all by blowing all the enemies out of the group and you're actually reducing the team's DPS. Use Solar Flare next to a fire brute with perma burn and ask him if he thinks your KB is useful. It's not fair to you because you just want to be able to use your powers, and it's not fair to the team because your participation might actually hurt them. No matter how much you might like KB, it's hard to ignore that in most teaming situations it just isn't useful at all.
  4. This may have been addressed elsewhere already, but I'm wondering if the Judgement powers have redraw for characters with drawn weapons. I'm guessing that they probably do, but wishing that they don't

Yeah they appear to be running now. Although I forsee a large amount of traffic pouring into Freedom at once (probably why even the character select screen seems slow there), so maybe I will try Infinity again lol

I guess I haven't checked back on Infinity since the incarnate stuff came out. Maybe I'll have to go rebuild one of my toons over there. I still have several 50s that got left behind...but that probably means they weren't great to begin with lol
  7. Drexyl

I guess I only moved to Freedom because of the server population. I used to play on Infinity but had been there long enough to see the population dwindle. But Freedom is rather overcrowded with farmers and lowbies begging for farms

Anyone in NA get on yet? Seems like all who have are EU, which is fair since they did miss out on a better part of the day than we did.

On Freedom server anyways, I guess I stopped playing the other ones after free transfers and most of my toons ended up there. But yeah, Atlas is crowded with that sort of broadcast all day there.

They probably just wanted a quiet day in Atlas Park without having to listen to "Lowbie LFF" or "54/8 farm lfm, 10 mil per run." lol

EDIT: Really? Man, it's not letting me on lol

Yeah, just to clarify, the servers have been back up for a while, BUT access is limited to devs only until they are done testing. That includes NA as well.

Just tried to get on Freedom and it's still down. Not sure what servers you're referring to here.

I guess it wouldn't really do me a lot of good either. Was just a thought that spawned out of nothing other than boredom lol. We could all use this time to brainstorm possible ideas for compensation and the devs can just pick whichever one they like

I would also go for some free server transfers. I have several inactive 50s that I can't bring myself to delete just yet. That would at least be something relatively easy for them to distribute as well, since I'm sure after today the last thing they want is another big project to work on tomorrow lol

Well I can at least log in to the server selection screen now. Of course they are still testing so I can't get in, but that's the furthest I've been able to get all day. WINNING!
  17. Interesting...I did not consider that. I guess either way that won't really put me out too many slots since I'll probably save a few on defense elsewhere. Thanks for the reply!

I tried doing that the other day and it seemed like every time I entered the base, the direction I faced was still random. Never really bothered to look into that to find out for sure, but it seems pretty random to me lol

I assumed that they at least had an office overseas, but was not aware that the EU once had their own specific maintenance times. Thanks guys for clarifying that.

Doesn't it make sense though for a game created and operated in North America to schedule maintenance times appropriate for that time zone? I understand the frustrations of the EU players, but you did know when you bought the game that it was created and operated in NA, so you could safely assume that all maintenance times would favor that particular time zone, right?. It's not like the devs WANT the servers to be down or anything. Why would they? They have to deal with constant complaints for every minute of downtime that exceeds the scheduled mainenance. It's an inconveniece for everyone, especially you guys, but I don't think the devs are intentionally giving EU players the shaft, it just happens to come across that way.

At least we have a timeframe now, so instead of impatiently waiting at our computers for an update, we know that we can go find something better to do for a while
  22. Well this is my current planned build for my brute Infinite Skye on Freedom server. This is my first SR toon so I'm really lacking in knowledge of how to slot all the powers. Obviously I went for softcapping melee/ranged/aoe, and worked on max HP and regen which I've heard is the proper aproach. I wanted all my attacks slotted with procs, I'd throw even more in them if I could. Also not too sure about the alpha slot. Figured I shouldn't need cardiac with energy mastery, and I don't really need much recharge either which is why I skipped hasten. So if anyone has any thoughts as to how I could save slots/make better use of them, or just any tips in general it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Hopefully new players don't read the forums that much lol. I had been playing the game for a long time before I had even registered on the forums, and I still don't use them much. I wouldn't even be here now if the maintenance was finished.
  24. So at one point tonight I found myself randomly transferred to another map, outside of the barrier wall. There was a Rikti invasion in Perigrine Island and for some reason I decided to start chasing after one of the dropships. I had my jetpack on and was flying north away from the main island after it, blasting away until suddenly I hit a load screen. Afterwards, I found myself in the far north section of Talos Island, in the empty space beyond the shield wall. Just to see what would happen, I turned off my jetpack and fell far enough to damage me down to 1 HP. I was able to walk under the city (miles under the city) until I eventually flew back towards the shield wall and was somehow transported to the plaza in front of the train.

Just thought I would share this strange experience with everyone. Not that it's anything that really requires any immediate attention since I think it would be pretty hard to recreate the situation lol
  25. Seems pretty understandable that you wouldn't want to have to waste all of those shards just to find out the hard way. I also wanted to mention since I didn't touch on this at all, but I've tried going the recharge route as well (my scrap has all 2nd tiers except for the accuracy one) and I really didn't notice that much a boost in any of my powers, at least not enough to make a big difference. To put it simply though, I would say if you took Body Mastery you can take any alpha you want but if you took any epic with extra attacks then cardiac is the way to go.
