    Thanks, and I wish!

I took my avatar from a section of this painting I did whilst playing around with my new Wacom: http://drdestiny.deviantart.com/art/...nted-126841984

Yes - quick pencil sketch, then scanned into Illustrator and 'inked' and coloured there
  4. Only tangentally connected to CoH, but I thought I'd post these anyway, since they were fun to do... (Murph, Ebeneezer, Molly and Luccio are Dresden Files © Jim Butcher)

Well, you can clearly see where I ran out of time - shoddy work on the non-existant background, and bad colour work on MS herself.

Cheers! The 'plane's a GeeBee - kind of based on an R1, which was the World Air-Speed record holder back in the 1930s, during the 'Golden Age' of air-racing. Obviously I used lots of reference for it!
  6. The very best of fortune to you with whatever you do. Mother's Love, both in-game and on these forums has been a true legend, offering both a voice of calm in some trying times, and also never afraid to stand up and be counted when needed.

Speaking as someone who also recently re-subbed (the Going Rogue expansion is a very exciting development), I hope that your enthusiasm is soon rekindled, and if not, I hope to see a familiar face patrolling the streets of Millennium City.

Just a doodle of The Masked Shrike from the City of Heroes boards, in my 'what can I do in 2 hours' series...

Nice of you to say so, thanks Aprosaath!

Here's just a quick doodle of one of Foo's characters; The Canadian Shield, done too quickly on a quiet evening...

sure, but judging by the speed at which it's moving, that'll be a while...

I'm also covering an artist's absence on a web-comic, with my run appearing later in the year, but it's sort-of looking like this:

  10. Great stuff as always Foo!
  11. Hi everyone... I know some folks here already from 'the other place', as well as from the EU boards. I draw with wobbly lines and blotchy colour.

Thanks for the kind words Knightly - it's really appreciated.

I'm stopping this experiment for a while, as I've been contacted to produce the art for an upcoming mini-series. Quite exciting, and a bit secret. Thanks again to everyone who has looked at my stuff.

Trying something a little different I guess. Opinions and criticism very welcome, but these are early days.

I'm not happy with how my stuff's been looking so I'm just going to let this strip evolve and see where it goes.

  15. Still getting used to this style, this is one of Bob Greenwade's characters.

It is great, that red background is really stunning. One thing I can say is, color choice for panel 2 and 4. Attacker's outfit is in different color. Even it looks superb artisticly, for sake of comics I think it will be better to color him with same hue (dark green or grey whichever is his outfit color).

He he... I can't stop looking what you did. Really, really amazing. Thumbs up.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Thanks Knightly, and you're right about the colours. Shoddy on my part. I paint each of the panels separatley, and hadn't taken an accurate colour reference, but was just mixing colour on a virtual pallette thing.

(not sure how i missed this thread)

the New stuff is looking great the new style seems to work really well for skin tones I'm not sure i like it so much for the buildings though but that could just be me.

I think I feel the same.

    Page two, complete-ish.

I'm not sure how I feel about this yet, but here's the final piece. Thanks again to those who've looked and passed comment, it's been really helpful. Opinions more than welcome.

Page two, inks in progress. This page looks VERY sparse at the moment, but it's designed so that the paint layer does the work.

    I hope.

Page one, kind of done. My instinct is to leave the colouring kind of loose. Opinions very welcome!

This is the inks stage of page one. Very sparse I know, but hopefully the colour will help.

No masks used as yet, which is why there's a bunch of frame overlap going on.

It looks really good so far, but as you say maybe too early to tell. How do you feel about using this style? Are you enjoying the new process, is it too time consuming (ect)?

    [/ QUOTE ]

I'm kind of enjoying it, but it's taking an awful long time to do each one. Perhaps after some more practice I'll get faster...

I'm trying to do a 2-page strip using a combination of two styles - my wobbly line stuff and the more recent painty style. Panel One done, and is shown here, at about 66% of final size.

I'll be updating this page as I go along, and hopefully I'll be able to both see how I'm doing, and react to opinions and crit of it.

I'm not really sure about it yet, I think it's too early to tell.
