I set my pets to Passive. All pet problems are gone. They don't even listen to other MMs anymore, where they might on Defensive or Aggresive. But, now I have to target and give attack orders for every enemy. It's not that hard. And, my point here, is I can't use the Bodyguard Mode while pets are Passive.
I'm telling you guys, try it. Put ALL pets on passive and when you respawn a pet you have to remember to reset it to passive. I use the "All Pets" actions in the advanced control box, and I even drag those "All Pets" controls to my tray. When you use "All Pets" controls and keep them in Passive, they mind just fine, every time, in every situation.
They NEVER grab additional aggro, and they always take 1 target down at a time, which is a very good way to do it anyway. Don't knock it until you try it.

That sounds weird, because I've always played this way. I don't understand why anyone would play any other way.
I have my bots set up with 4 buttons on my power tray:
passive follow
aggressive attack (attack my target)
defensive stay
passive goto
I've never needed anything else. I have my pets following me in passive all the time, then when I want to fight I target an enemy and tell them to attack it. When the enemy is dead or close to death, I either recall the pets to passive follow, or target a new enemy and reclick on the attack button, ordering them to go for that enemy.
This way, unless I am really stupid, they never attack anything I don't want them to. I can even play around with targeting so that some pets get some shots in against one enemy, while others attack another.
If I want to explore without my pets around, I put them on defensive stay, which works so long as I don't get too far away (or they respawn at my position).
Goto passive isn't something I use a lot. If I want the pets in a certain position (like if they are in melee against an enemy and I want them to fire from range) then I just recall them on passive for a moment to regroup.
Defensive mode always seemed a really stupid idea to me, except when I left the pets behind with teammates who might get ambushed and need support. Why allow the pets choice of target, risking unwanted aggro?
To pull a mob - I target the nearest enemy, switch to aggressive attack, wait for the first pet to fire off a shot, then run backwards while switching the pets on to passive follow. Most of the time this ensure I only ever pull one enemy at a time when required.
My pets do exactly what I want them to do all the time, unless either they get mistakenly ordered by another MM, or they Go Nuts(tm) as only MM pets sometimes can -
Bodyguard sounds like compensation for the nerf to PFF.
I was stunned by the PFF nerf. SUddenly I had no control over the targets my bots were choosing, and pretty soon they ran off into the distance creating more and more aggro while I was helpless to do anything but watch them die.
For me PFF has always been an emergency power for when the pets were pretty much going to die anyway, but still at least I could plan my retreat from bad situations by still commanding my bots while I fell back to regroup.
Now I am forced to either drop my shield (which is nuts because it has a huge recharge time now) or just flee, leaving the bots to die horribly.
Is this a deliberate change to PFF? Or a bug? -
Same goes for the Villains accolades when I7 goes live!

These stations sound kinda useless to me.
If I was in charge of them, I would set things up so that you could construct several different types, offering different benefits:
1) Inspir and Enhancement construction
2) 1st tier temp powers - same as Siren's Call agent
3) 2nd tier temp powers - better ones like invis and phase shift, with anti-invis and basically the temp powers you get from mishes (like rifles).
4) 3rd tier temp powers - Throw in a set of 3 2nd tier salvage to gain a 5 use pet summon temp power. Choose from any pet you have a Gladiator badge of (or better still, introduce SG Gladiator badges and use them as the basis)
Heck, I'd be happy if the station just built the 60 mins jetpacks. Even that would at least be fun, and sometimes useful. -
Maybe some day when all 5 of my toons are level 50, carry over 200 badges each, and my SG has over 20 million Prestige THEN I will make a CoH badge guide.
There is some hope, since I do have a level 7 Controller on CoH, who spent some time running around the maps going "ooooh" and "ahhhh" before she was kidnapped by the Vahzilok and turned into my main on CoV. She sometimes visits Pocket D at SG parties.
The overall concept of my main was that eventually when she reached level 50 she would be redeemed and returned to her normal Heroic self, at which point I would swtich over to CoH.
Sadly, I now own alts who run a SG and also want to get to level 50, so my original plans might be slightly delayed.
Tee Hee -
I switched the Glad badge from Chum to Snake Charmer. I believe it's Snake Charmer that awards the Gladiator, not Chum.
Not being online yes due to computer crash this week means I can't check.
Starngely an early version of Vidiotmaps says Charmer gives the badge, but the more recent BW site says it's Chum.
I'll verify later - I am right now downloading the Updater, with 3 hours left until complete))

Yay thanks!
Having dragged 3 alts to level 40, I really wanted to write a guide that explained more about how you really earn each badge, and what general order you can be expected to receive them.
The main badge hunting site has dropped its guidance notes, includes Hero badges, and features quite a few mistakes of out of date tips, so I felt people might like a recap of the how-to aspects in order to help with collection.
Tee hee -
Hiya,
Following loss of my hard drive I've had a lot of free time to update my Supergroup's website.
One thing I've pretty much completed is a practical guide to badge hunting. It only covers villain badges, and the way badges are divided up reflect their difficulty to collect rather than following the order that they get displayed on your Personal Info.
I've thrown in the I7 badges for completion, with as much information and tips on how to actually collect each one as I know at this time. Like all badge guides it's an eternal work in progress, but I don't think I've seen anyone else write a guide quite as user friendly as this one:
http://www.the-faux-pas.org.uk/badges.html -
Vidszhite - I suggest you go back and check over your badges. Why did you think Bad Luck was not a requirement? Did you earn it, then log into test, and not get HPT?
If so, do you have all the other requirements? I would be interested to know, cos if you do have all the others then there is yet another requirement. -

I would just like to add 3 new possible requirements for the High Pain Threshold Accolade. My first copy to test didnt recieve it but my second copy did. The badges I have earned since the first copy was made are: Bad Luck, Raider, and Shrouded.
[/ QUOTE ]
I can confirm that Bad Luck is NOT a requirement. Raider and Shrouded are still up in the air.

I can confirm that Bad Luck IS a requirement. Raider certainly is NOT, and neither is Shrouded. I have had 4 people come to me and tell me Bad Luck was required by their toons (after they saw me on this forum discovers prereqs for badges).
I know Raider and Shrouded are not required because I had neither when I first picked up HPT. -
Go to Marconeville in Port Oakes, and kill the enemies named "Mook Capo". 100 (or is it 200?) will get you the Gangbuster Badge.
Seriously, I spent days asking around concerning what on Earth "Marcone Bosses" were, since in truth there are none. There are Underbosses, Consiglieres, and Capos, but no such thing as a "Mook/Marcone Boss".
Here "boss" refers to enemy rank, as shown in your targetting window (as in minion/lieutenant/boss/Elite Boss/Hero/AV".
If you want the other gangster badge (Untouchable), go kill Underbosses and Consiglieres in at the Docks in south Nerva. -
By the way, when Issue 7 arrives it will be quite possible for any semi-dedicated player to hit 200 badges!
My estimate is that pre-Issue 7 you'll need about 165-170 badges to be able to hit 200 quickly when I7 hits.
Having said that, collecting 165 isn't exactly easy, but it is doable if you spend a week or two badge hunting as a 40. -

what about the 2 villain ones

Megalomaniac is a clickable power which lasts for exactly 60 seconds.
It can be used only once every 25 minutes, and cannot be slotted. As the description on my screencap says, it enhances all mezzes while activated. It looks like pretty lights dancing around the head of your toon.
Demonic Aura is similar, (edit) and lasts 65 seconds (probably also supposed to be 60) and also recharges every 25 mins. The animation is a blue flame surrounding your character.
IMPORTANT NOTES:
1) The fact that powers flash when they are about to exztinguish is really kewl!
2) BUG - For some insane reason, you can activate Demonic Aura while it is recharging. That is to say that you can activate tha *animation*, and reset the recharge time, but the power does not actually reactivate (you don't receive the bonuses).
I wonder if reporting this will give me Bug Hunter? -
I've got a screengrab on my SG website:
http://www.the-faux-pas.org.uk/grab.jpg
It shows that I collected all three of the Accolades, and also my full badge list (minus Gladiators, since this wouldn't help - they all look the same).
As you can see I have all the Accomplishament, all Exploration (plus Last Stand and Overlord), and all History badges. The image is good enough to compare Achievements too, you can identify which I have from the picture.
You can see the 3 Accolades listed both on my badge list and badge collection.
Also note that this shot was taken at the moment I earned Overlord and Demonic (see chat window). I picked up the Demonic Aura at the same time.
Finally - on my power tray you will notice the blue power (just been used so it is minimised). This is Megalomaniac. With this particular copy of my main, I received both the Demonic and Megalomaniac powers, but NOT the HPT power.
I just hope that when I7 goes live I will get all 3 powers. I really don't want to miss Megalomaniac, since I'm a Mind/Psi Dom! -
Confirmed Kil Skuls is not required. One of the earlier people I compared with doesn't have it.
This is looking like the triggers are a bunch of Accomplishments plus Last Stand.
Strike Breaker is looking definite. I will go back over my notes to make sure no one without it got the badge. -
Ok, maybe not bed yet. Someone posted on the elite forums that they picked up Last Stand but didn't get Meg.
This person has lots more badges than me, but is missing the following badges that I do have:
Destined One
Strike Breaker
Kill Skuls
Jail Bird
Ember Legacy of Flame
So one of these is ALSO a prerequisite for Megalomaniac. This explains the people who had Crystal Keeper but didn't get the badge.
My guess would be that Strikebreaker is the other trigger. I doubt it would be a gladiator, or Destined One, or Jail Bird (yikes!).
It might be Kil Skuls. I will go PM the person and ask them to get Kil SKuls and Strikebreaker, one at a time. Time for someone else to do the researching now.
As a wild guess, maybe the badge requires you to have completed ALL Accomplishments prior to I7 - from Bone Collector right through to Crystal Keeper?
In any case, when I picked up Meg I got the power as well, but when I first logged in and got HPT I didn't get the HPT power. Weird. Someone needs to sort out these Accolade powers. -
SUCCESS!
I ran with a team to complete the Ice Mistral SF, got the Crystal Keeper, xferred to the Test Server, and grabbed Last Stand.
Megalomaniac was awarded instantly.
Crystal Keeper IS a prerequisite for Megalomaniac. The only other possibility is that you need all 4 SF badges to get Megalomaniac, but even if that is the case, Crystal Keeper is still part of the trigger.
YAY! I did some real research! Go me!
Okies, time for bed now. Hope the info helps everyone. I nuked Archus with the missles I picked up from Rocketman. He died -
I eliminated Raider form the possibilities. Someone else who picked up Megalomaniac didn't have it. The only badges this person had that I don't were:
Finder
Privateer
Hodeling Lasher
Lucent Legacy of Light
Crystal Keeper (argh)
I already know that none of the first four are the trigger, since the first person I compared with had none of them.
So, without further ado, I conclude that Crystal Keeper is the prerequisite (noooo).
I am running Ice Mistral in around an hour's time. I will post the results later, once that SF is completed. At least I have 3 nukes waiting for the AV from eliminating the Rocketman possibility
Finally - I may be wrong but I think someone posted a while ago on the elite forums saying they had Crystal Keeper but still didn't get Meg. If that is true, then either there is another prerequisite (that I have), or *maybe* you are required to get all four SF badges to get Meg. I will check this also after I get Crystal Keeper, by forcing people who are on the SF with me to get on test and try to nab Last Stand. -
Just so no one else runs of to do the Ice Mistral and it turns out to be redundant, here is a full list of badges I am missing that could possibly be the trigger for Megalomaniac - I am now including Gladiators in my search, since although it is unlikely that they are required I am running out of options:
GLADIATORS I LACK
Anathema
Avalanche Shaman
Behemoth Overlord
Bladegrass
Caliban
Fungoid
Hordeling Lasher
Lucent Legacy of Light
Longbow Warden 2
Mu Guardian
7th Generation Paragon Protector
Crey Power Tank
Shivan Destroyer
Outcast Slugger
Steel Strongman
Swift Steel
Wailer Queen
Smasher Elite
Snowbeast
ACCOLADES I LACK
Jet-Setter
Scrooge
Toy Collector
Bug Hunter
ACCOMPLISHMENTS I LACK
Crystal Keeper
ACHIEVEMENTS I LACK
Raider (this is really the only one of those original 6 that I posted about that I haven't eliminated, except for the CK - I will get this in the hours leading up to my going on the SF).
Finally - I noticed that the second person I compared with, the one who had few badges but still got Megalomaniac - had these two badges which I also lack:
Regenerator
Infiltrator
But the first person I compared with didn't have these either, even though he got the Meg badge. So I seriously doubt they are relevant.
Okay - time to hit SC for 5 hours -
RUT RO.
I eliminated Goon Squad, Web Master, and Reinforcement from my list of possible Megalomaniac triggers.
I then asked someone who had Crystal Keeper to go and pick up Last Stand. They had far fewer badges than me, so I thought this would be a good way to test if Crystal Keeper was a requirement.
They picked out Last Stand and BAM!, they had Magalomaniac.
Oh dear. I am now almost certain that Crystal Keeper is (bizarrely) one of the prerequisites. I will run an Ice Mistral SF with the TFOs on Champion tonight, and report back whether getting this enabled me to pick up Magalomaniac.
In the meantime, if anyone without CK already has Megalomaniac then please let me know, because it will save me about 5 hours worth of being owned by Archus in the crystal caverns -
I earned Rocketman last night, recopied my toon and then grabbed Last Stand again. I still did not earn Megalomaniac.
It cost me about 180K in debt too, with PvP [censored] ASing me on the launchpad despite my explaining what my team was doing (I'll remember you, Vindictive FX).
Later today I will continues through my list of badges (starting with Reinforcement, then Goon Squad, then the time badges, and then - if absolutely necessary - Crystal Keeper).
It has to be one of them, my badge list was identical to a friend except for these five badges, yet he got the Megalomaniac and I did not.
Perhaps Reinforcement is the trigger - I am pretty sure it won't be Crystal Keeper due to a few people posting that they have it but didn't get the badge, and comparison with CoH.
Finally - when I picked up HPT this time I got the power, but then when I picked up Overlord to get Demonic I *didn't* get that power. I was wonderinf if you only get one of the powers, chosen at random, but then I met someone with both. -
I can verify that Megalomaniac requires at least one of the following, in addition to Last Stand:
Rocketman
Reinforcement
Goon Squad
Raider
Webmaster
Crystal Keeper
My money is on Rocketman as the trigger.
Also, High Pain Threshold appears to require at least one of:
Kil Skuls
Grand Lanista
Beautiful
Gangbuster
Silver Bullet
This was determined through my having HPT but not MLM, and my parter in crime having the reverse. We compared our other badges, and those were the only differences.
Hope this helps.
