Way back in mid-2006 I made my first Hero and levelled up to 5. I walked into the Hollows and was given a mission in about the centre of the map.
I took a long hard look at six mobs of 10 +3 Trolls gathered around the mission entrance, before I told that old cop guy to find a different idiot to send to their doom. -

Ok i tried to transfer a toon. It say requested. Then it says Payment could not be accepted for your order. Then Payment by credit card was requested, but without any card data. WTH??? maybe it was answered before but IT CHARGED $9.99 to my account with no transfers????
[/ QUOTE ]
Lol, it better not be charging the card because I've run that failed transaction about 50 times in a row this evening, trying to get a character moved. My billing history on the main site doesn't record anything going through, luckily.
I am trying to get an answer to a critical petition on the support site. I think the transfer/rename is broken for everyone atm. -

Eight configurable new power trays let players customize their User Interface by placing them anywhere on the screen.
[/ QUOTE ]
Now the question is can we place them Verticle instead of horizontal.
[/ QUOTE ]
You bet. You can even do boxes and L-shapes (when you push them to the edge of the screen).

Does the converting count towards Fabricator? -
If there is a SG anywhere on any server that is still barely active and possesses an IoP then THIS would be the time to speak up!!!
I'll travel to any server and make a run on an IoP for the badge, if anybody can let me know they own one!
I had no idea there were a few still laying around... -
Can someone tell me what a Wootie Owl is?

Guys, we need to figure out a way to exploit the game that involves the RSF tech, toggle debuffs, vill patrons, other QoL issues, and anything else we feel needs to be fixed, then people need to complain about how they relate to RMT, THEN they might get fixed.

This worked for the Arachnos Flyer.
When I and a few friends conspired to post on the forums about how the Flyer was now rewarding hundreds of thousands of XP for a single kill, the news made the top of the Dev's community issues list and within 2 weeks Ghost Widow had repaired the Flyer's spawning problem on all servers. -

Agreed. I don't buy the "we forgot" nonsense for a second.

So what possible benefit could the Devs have had from suppressing it on purpose, seeing as it was obviously going to come out anyway?
[/ QUOTE ]
It prevented discussion during testing. It prevented warning players that the huge change was coming. It prevented feedback, and finally prevented players from quickly farming faster TFs/SFs to grab as many recipes as possible before the change hit live.
In the past there have been deliberate and accidental changes that I can believe were forgotten about when patch notes were written. However, this isn't one of them. The long silence from a redname for the past two days speaks volumes. -
When I think about villainside SFs, the change really doesn't have much of an effect.
For an average player, the Cap, Sky Raider, Leviathan and Ice Mistral SFs, and the Respec Trials; already require 4 people to complete successfully since they all feature final AVs that you don't have much chance defeating if there are only 3 villains or fewer on the team.
For the LRSF, spawn sizes really make no difference whatsoever to completion. I've never even heard of an LRSF failing due to losses against regular mobs - it's the Heroes that you really need to worry about.
Therefore the change only really hits the Cap SF solo runs with a 10 minute delay, and nerfs people trying to solo or duo any SF/Respec from beginning to end.
As many have said, the change actually encourages the behaviour it professes to deter. Under the new changes, powerful farming villains may give up PLing people who pad out their team size in normal farm missions and instead run SF/Respec missions solo with a spawn size of 4 or 8.
Put simply - the winners are:
Infamy farmers
Powerful characters who can take on huge mobs alone
RMTers
People who sell rare recipes for huge prices
and the losers are:
People who want xp (from big team farms)
People who like running SFs
Pool C/D recipes and those that want them
Now um...doesn't that seem like the reverse of the intention?
I'm not going into heroside consequences - I don't even want to think about the Shard or Posi TFs -
If you crank up the difficulty of the Ice Mistral SF so that the enemies are higher than level 39 or 40, then either solo or in a Damage+Buff/Heal duo, villains can now totally go to town with farming the highest tier of salvage/recipes and huge masses of infamy.
All the enemies are arcane, and the AV is a pale shadow of his former self so long as you bring at least 1 shivan or a nuke. Of course, why bother finishing all the missions when you can just re-run the same one over and over with a spawn size of 4 -

Badge! Badge! Badge!
Come on guys! join in!
[/ QUOTE ]
No thanks. There's already one can of worms being opened with charging for costumes and emotes. If they threw in a badge with it, it would open up a whole new can of worms with accusations of trying to extort money from badge hunters.
IMHO, given that they're going to charge for something, this is exactly the right way to have done it. Maybe throw in some kind of prestige power, but certainly not a badge. I didn't like the RMT for the VIP badges, and I wouldn't like it if they did it again.
As for the event itself, I'm looking forward to it. I'll be there.

This is exactly why I didn't put a badge in this pack.

DOH!

Not adding a badge was the stupidest decsion you could have made if you actually wanted people to buy this. When I clicked the link, the first thing I looked for was a badge. No badge = no sale. -

At any rate, based on the announcement, I believe 2XP is "guaranteed" until ... 12pm EST(I think?) Sunday night... But it usually runs til server maintenance on Monday morning.
[/ QUOTE ]
Correct. We guarantee it will run till 11:59 PM Eastern on Sunday night. Anything that may happen after that is gravy.
[/ QUOTE ]
It will run until Monday morning. It always does. Gravy would be maintenance being delayed until Weds -

The one thing I question tho, he said they datamined how long characters were at certain levels. Could this info have been skewed by alt-itis? I know when I hit 22-27 range, I usually start another alt and run them for a while. Or even partake in a FOTM build.
[/ QUOTE ]
We have a "life at level" stat in seconds. This is how long a character spent at a particular level, logged in. While not a perfect indicator of levelling speed, it's an excellent starting point.
[/ QUOTE ]
Posi, I hope you took account of people deliberately hanging around level 30, 40 and 41 when you did your calculations.
Level 30 and 40 are stopping points for people trying to collect the Miracle unique IO and other mid-level IOs (piling on debt deliberately to slow futher xp).
41 is the bridge level for extreme PLs. -
Uses the word "depends" in a malevolent, nonsensical way.
-
Amazing stuff!
I'd love to know what you did in post-production to clean up and clarify the lighting, making the figures look very professional. -
Why do the devs always state that Double XP (or any limited-time event) will end on Sunday night?
everyone knows that the events never end on an evening, especially not the evening of a weekend. The events end when the next maintenance period occurs - namely Monday morning.
Telling people that the event ends Sunday night just divides the players between those "in the know" who carry on getting double rewards all through Sunday night/Monday morning, and those who go to bed Sunday believing the event is over.
But yay for the event. Time to get another alt ready for 50 -
I've always played CoX using a PS2 controller, since I have problems with keyboards (they don't like the bones in my hands).
The reason I never play any other MMO and quit Tabula Rasa after its Beta is cos I couldn't get my controller to work with those titles.
For CoX, my PS2 controller is plug and play - it works instantly. I would never have even begun to play this game without the controller support.
I only use a keyboard for chatting, changing costume and executing the more rare powers on the numpad keys. -
Do not. Ever. Under any circumstances. Mess with my Force Bubble.
I think it would be kewl to make some tweaks to the Repulsion Bomb and Repulsion Field powers. I have never used them in almost 2 years of owning a Bots/FF MM, because they both sounded crappy and this was confirmed when I saw the powers used by Defenders.
I'd be happy with some experiments on Force Bolt too, but seriously you'll never hear the end of my wailing if any nerfs were applied to FB, DB or PFF. Especially since PFF was already messed up once. -
Doh i missed this. Lemme know if another thingy begins (my workplace now blocks this site boooo!).
Maybe you could try a charity PL? -

I have a level 30 Corr that I am trying to keep at the debt cap so she can stay in range as long as possible for Miracle recipes.
But like - it will take all of about 5 minutes to get her back to the debt cap after she is affected by the wipe, and that's a small inconvenience compared with 3 million Prestige. -

There's been nothing *wrong* with the last couple of updates, in the same way that there's nothing wrong with an episode of a sitcom that's just a "clips show" of previous episodes.
Issue 9-11 have been very kewl, but they have also focused on narrow areas of the game that built additional content out of older content.
I've said it before and I'll say it again - almost immeditely after the launch of Issue 8, something scary fell out of the sky and slapped both Cryptic and NCSoft across the face. Plans for the player-voted moonbase/rocket launch sites, NCSoft GM support, a new paid expansion, Villain Epic ATs, a repaired CoP trial, and many other hinted/planned developments suddenly froze in their tracks and the game went off on the tangent of issue 9-11, exploring quick and easy wins without tackling the real difficult stuff they originally had planned.
