You (blind inviters) can see that there is an overwhelming amount of people who consider unpersonal invites rude. I don't care if you understand why. Please respect it and don't do it! Ask first! It doesn't take long and it's a nice social experience!

Did you read my second post, SweetChilli?
It's obvious that we disagree on this matter, but I want to know if you understand my position.

If you don't like blinds, then just set your status to 'Not accepting invites'.

    [/ QUOTE ]

No, I won't because then no one can invite me. And I want to be invited, just in a polite way.
And I have the text "No blind invites!" as search comment for over 2 1/2 years now and it get's ignored every day! I think this is rude! What else could it be?

    Blind invites = OK

Going into a mish first = OK (seems to be a trend to hang around the doors for no good reason these days.

Starting a mish before everyone gets in there = OK

    And on this I disagree.
When I'm on a team, then I'm looking for Teamplay and the social experience.
In my experience blind inviters won't talk to you all mission, as they haven't before they invited you. They just look for someone to grind XP with, because they can't master the mission alone.
Blind inviters won't talk, speak about tactics, or listen for that matter. Most just rush off into the mission, ignoring you or asking you why it takes so long. They won't wait for you to set up your bots or anything. Someone who doesn't even take the time to ask "Hey, wanna join?" will probably not be the most social of companions either.

And I do not think that a blind invite is equal to asking but faster. It's a spam-window. It's as if you're activating a programmed feature. Click button -> Get team!
I'm not a feature! I not only think this is rude, but I feel offended by those spammy, annoying, unpersonal windows!

The problem is not the feature itself. I blame the user for not thinking about that this maybe being considered rude or annoying. And what bothers me the most is having to explain myself!
So you don't understand me? So you feel I'm over-reacting? I'm being irrational?
Yeah, that's what emotions are about.

Thanks for your replies, mates! Obviously I'm not alone in this. So there is only one thing to do: Being a good example to newbies and hold up the shining beacon of politeness! ^_^

And just to say it again:
The CoX-community is one of the nicest there is! Its fun playing with you!

    Hi there!

I have been a villains since day one, but I was on hiatus for over 1 1/2 years. I was delighted to see that my toons are still here and I picked up where I left. Great game, great new content!

Today I was in an interesting situation.
In the past it was considered rude to invite someone to a team without even contacting that person beforehands. Some people (myself included) even have a "No blind invites" text set up in the team-search.
Today I have been blindly invited by a certain player three times over the course of the day. On the third time I wrote him back and complained about this behaviour.

He wouldn't understand why it bothered me. He said the team-invite-window IS a form of personal contact and I said its impolite spam. We parted with him saying to me "How weird..."

    So, question:
Am I really weird? Did the etiquette change while I was gone? Are blind invites okay and should I just be happy that someone I haven't even talked with wants to team up with me?

On the other hand, it's good to be back. As I said: Great game and mostly great players!
  6. Thank you very much for your patience, MaxPowerz!^^

That's the one I meant. I'll apply right away.
  7. My buddie whom I play with regularly just left the game and our little SG is quite dead now. I'm now looking for a new SG that likes roleplay. It would great if it had a lot of active players and an interesting base.
I heard of a roleplay-SG called EVIL, but there seem to be about 3 SGs with that particular name.
    Can anyone help me out?
  8. I'd like to offer my service as well. I like good teamwork and a nice chat now and then and my Dominator-mate is not able to play these days.
My Mastermind is lvl 31 right now so if he isn't too much of a whimp to you, just give him a call.
    Global is @Doctor Bob
  9. It was a bucketload of fun and in the end kicked the broccoli out out of Leviathan!
    Took a little longer though.
  10. Hi there!

I'd like to be part of this. I'll be there at 7pm!
    I'm a lvl 29 Tech-MM (Bubbler). I hope to be lvl 30 by then.
