Yup. Robot Pirates vs. Zombie Ninjas.
This is really three contests in one. We will have a CC for the Robot Pirates and one for the Zombie Ninjas. Our standard prizes apply for each: 100 million for 1st Place, 75 million for 2nd and 50 million for 3rd.
The winners of each will face off in a third CC to determine an overall winner. We're not quite ready to announce the Grand Prize yet, but it'll be good.
Come dressed as your best Robot Pirate or your best Zombie Ninja! If you have the costume slots, make one of each and double your chances of winning.
When: Monday, May 30th at 10 P.M. Eastern
Where: The Port Oakes Arena -
Quote:I've got this one covered, Goat.Begins to wonder ....
Do the CC winners ever see that they have pic's posted here of them?!
Shrugs...
Anyhow I'm really looking forwards to next weeks theme!!
Please send me a PM if you have won a Hero Dawn CC and you don't know how to find this thread! -
Last night's CC was a lot of fun. Thanks to everyone who came out.
The costumes were very inventive and everyone looked great!
We went out of our way to make the trivia for this one more challenging. I was amazed how quickly the contestants answered them. Great job all!
We'll have the details of next week's contest posted a little later today. -
Take advice with a grain of salt.
There are a lot of extremely knowledgeable and well-intentioned people out there who can provide sound advice.
There are also some well-intentioned people who aren't so knowledgeable.
Ask lots of questions both in-game and on the boards. -
Reminder: Our "Flags of Europe" CC is tonight at 10 P.M. Eastern in Galaxy City.
We have some great prizes and trivia for this one.
See you soon! -
We're upping the prizes for our "Flags of Europe" contest!
This special occasion calls for special prizes. Here's what we came up with:
1st Place: Level 20 IO - Miracle: Recovery
2nd Place: Respec Recipe
3rd Place: Level 50 IO - Numina's Convalescence: Regeneration/Recovery
Based on last night's market history these have an approximate value of 200 million, 150 million and 80 million respectively.
I hope to see you there. -
Last night was a first for me.
We had such a great turnout that we ended up spawning two instances of Ouroboros.
So, we actually had two Golden Age CC's running concurrently.
Since I'm such a big Golden Age fan, I was like a kid in a candy store!
The costumes were, as always, wonderful.
Thanks for making this such a great event Virtue!
Don't forget: The theme for next week is: Flags of Europe hosted in Galaxy City. -
Just a reminder that our "Golden Age" CC is tonight at 10 P.M. Eastern in Ouroboros.
Our "Flags of Europe" CC is just one week away! -
Thanks again for the heads up.
Hopefully we'll see you there. -
Quote:I think you make a really good point.Your contest, your decision and all that but isn't that a bit self-limiting since no one under lvl 25 can participate?
When we started this, the idea was that it would be a travelling contest that would show up in various spots throughout Paragon City, Praetoria and the Rogue Isles.
Really, any location we pick is going to exclude someone. I personally thought Studio 55 was the answer until it was pointed out to me that not everyone can get there.
In this case the theme/location seemed to mesh well together and that's why we went with it.
I don't think we factored in that this would become a part of the Monday night routine for some folks, and I'm both humbled and flattered by that.
"Just wait until next week" doesn't seem like a satisfying answer to me.
Here's what I suggest: We will be in Atlas Park dropping O-Portals prior to the contest for people that need a lift.
If you are under the level requirement and want to participate, just send me a PM on the forums here or an in-game email to @Doc Triumph.
If we have enough interest, we will hold a special Golden Age contest for characters level 1-24 at a time/location to be determined. -
As a reminder, our next costume contest will be on Monday, May 16th at 10 P.M. Eastern. The theme for this one will be "Golden Age," and it will be held in blue-side Ouroboros.
We're announcing the following week's contest a little early to give you some extra time.
On Monday, May 23rd at 10 P.M. Eastern, we will be holding our weekly costume contest in Galaxy City in front of the Freedom Corps building. To celebrate the recent server list merge, the theme will be "Flags of Europe."
Join us for the costume contest, trivia and to give a proper welcome to our European Heroes! -
These just keep getting better!
Last night's turnout in Studio 55 was great and we saw a lot of fantastic costumes.
Virtue continues to make these fun and interesting. Thank you to everyone who participated.

Quote:I agree completely. My Traps/DP/Mace Mastery Defender is the only post-alpha character that I'm running at the moment.Yes, Auroxis is providing the accurate info here, Defender Traps buffs and debuffs are definitely higher than for Corrs.
Acid Mortar, FFG, and Seekers provide superior numbers for Defenders, which should not be discounted.
My Traps/DP is one of 3 toons I'm pursuing post-alpha incarnate stuff with. I'm that much of a fan.
I think the key is recharge so you can start stacking your debuffs. It also has a few great proc opportunities.
He's great against large groups as well as in AV/GM fights. -
Thanks to everyone who came out last night!
The judging was difficult for this one because the costumes were all so good. Virtue never fails to impress!
We'll be announcing the next theme/location a little later today. -
It's kind of a slippery slope though.
If they nerf Rock today, the next thing you know they'll be nerfing Paper and Scissors. -

We will be assembling on Spankys Boardwalk in Talos Island.

As always, there will be a trivia contest with 5 million INF awarded to the first person to answer each question correctly.

I'm not at home so I can't tell you exactly what the setting is called, but I think there is an option for 3D sound.
If that is enabled, try disabling it and restarting your client.
