I too am looking for a new SG to join. I've been playing since early in '06 and was a member of a very active group for several years. However time has taken it's toll on the group and all of the other players have gradually drifted away from the game leaving me very lonely in a big, we;;-stocked base.
I haven't had much luck with recruiting new members so I've decided to strike out and find a new group instead. I thought I had an invite coming from another SG and removed one of my toons (Mr. Mercury) from the old one but the invite never came through and now that toon is stuck being a free agent.
I'm hoping to land on another active group if I can. I don't get to play quite as much as I used to but I'm usually logged in several nights out of any given week. Please send a tell to @Mr. Mercury if you're recruiting, I'd love to hear from you - thanks! -

(So anyway, here goes...)
After earning her degrees in Western medicine, Dr. Indira Dhanwenthari returned to her home in India with the intention of using her healing skills to help the less fortunate there and in the surrounding regions. While travelling to Kathmandu to help the leper colonies there, her plane was fired upon and downed by Chinese forces when it strayed into the airspace of Tibet.
Miraculously, Indira and a handful of others aboard the plane survived the crash and set about to find help in the remote mountainous region. Exhausted and near death after days of struggling to survive in the harsh terrain they found a lush, verdant city nestled in a hidden valley where they were given food and shelter until they could regain their strength. Over the next few days Dr. Dhanwenthari and her companions learned that they had discovered the fabled city of Shamballa.
It was here that Indira learned that her destiny was to serve as a healer to mankind in a greater capacity than she ever could as a mere physician. While her travelling companions were nursed back to health and guided back to the outside world, Dr. Dhanwenthari remained in the mystic land where she was imbued with the power of the legendary city itself and trained in mystic arts that would help her to confront the evils of the world outside.
Dr. Indira Dhanwenthari has made her way once more to the Western world where she serves as an active opponent of the forces of evil. Taking the name of the source of her new powers as her own, she is now known to the people of Paragon City as the supernatural Shamballa!

No, but you might want to reconsider your priorities when the game means more to you than that mind-controlling worm that's burrowing into your brain via your inner ear.

Why is it that "more time is needed" always seems to happen on those rare days that I'm not at work? Bloody hell...

In defense of some "quitters" which I all too often have to be, sometimes there are real life issues that need my attention and force me to leave the game, often for short periods and other times much longer.
My reason is that my lovely wife suffered a stroke earlier this year and often needs my assistance as I'm her primary caregiver. She's recovering now and is expected to eventually get back to 100% but it's a very slow process and she often needs my help with the most basic of tasks. Sometimes she just needs to have an emotional moment with me there to support her.
I don't want or need anyone's sympathy and I'm not about to go into a lengthy discussion about being a caregiver prior to leaving whatever team I'm grouped with at the moment. I just don't want anyone resenting me for my sudden departures, especially when I'm able to return to playing after a short time away from the game. -

All very useful info - thanks, folks!
Oh, and even though I'm new to this whole base thing I agree, the rent system needs to go!
